November 2, 200717 yr ...and can we get a quick recap on where exactly to meet? Also, maybe a couple cell phone numbers just in case?
November 2, 200717 yr You have my cell phone number. Basically, along the Scioto River, there is a park (North Bank Park) where we will meet at. http://recparks.columbus.gov/Parks/Parks_185.asp From Cincinnati, take I-71 to Rt. 315 (Worthington). Take the Long Street exit, make a right, and follow it till you get to the park, which should be on your right. It's across the street from the new Northbank Tower (or whatever that thing is called). November 2, 200717 yr And "Town Rich" ColDayMan? It's OK, I'm embarrassed for both of us. Um, that was probably my mis-type. Sorry. I'm new around here. I can hardly find my front door. As for your CU friends. Sure. We'll meet you at the corner of Town and Rich. (Get it? They run parallel. Ah, map humor). Wow, I can't even tell which part is the quote? Yeesh. I should never doubt the geatness that is ColDayMan.
November 2, 200717 yr Guys be sure to visit the best bartender on the planet, Michelle Hill at the St. James Tavern on 4th. If you tell her punch sent you she definitely know me. Then I will hear about it for years how a bunch of urban planning geeks took over her bar for the night. :) 10,000 bonus points for who can tell my what color shirt I am wearing in the front picture collage...hint, I am bartending

November 2, 200717 yr Here's the map for the foot tour. It may look like a lot of hoofing, but it goes by fast. I've covered it with the kids, so no crybabying: http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?ie=UTF8&hl=en&msa=0&msid=114384111562064611343.00043d1fef11ded338ecf&ll=39.966489,-83.009005&spn=0.003922,0.007296&t=h&z=17&om=1 I'll definitely be with the group for this portion of the tour, though I'll likely miss the unofficial excursions after this and prior to the bar (Betty's, say 7ish). Chip in and buy Mrs. Kingfish a NICE bottle of wine, and I'll come out to party with y'all after I help put the kids to bed around 9PM. Sooner if we can get a freakin' babysitter. You single/childless people don't know what you're missing. Oh, and another thing: it's gallery hop. The first four to PM me can park behind our house. Otherwise, prepare to pay the valet.
November 2, 200717 yr You don't trust your kids with Unkie Pope to babysit? Be there at 6:30. There's a list of numbers on the fridge and Pringles and Red Pop in the cupboard. NO BOYFRIENDS.

Those kids sure can sing and play basketball.

November 3, 200717 yr Best as I recall - and remember, I'm not a Columbusite - but this was the route that we took today: http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=1430189 ...I'm sure I got the approach to Kingfish Manor wrong, but I couldn't figure out what actually looked right... A wonderful time, no doubt, and it was great to meet everyone...sorry I had to duck out early, but now I've definitely got to run... Hope to see you all in Cincinnati next time around!

November 4, 200717 yr yea i had a good time. i regret meeting colday,, but to everyone else, it was good meeting you.
November 4, 200717 yr I'm still very sore. But a great meet and well worth it! My feet, you perverts.
November 4, 200717 yr I want to apologize to UO for not showing up to the meeting. On Friday night my brother was a victim in a home invasion. In the process of protecting himself, his wife and two young children, the robbers shot my brother in the back. He is okay and he just had surgery this morning to remove the bullet. So sorry I missed my first meet and hopefully I will make it to the next meet.
November 4, 200717 yr yubh8tin, we forgive you this time, just don't let it happen again. In all seriousness though. I am sorry you couldn't make it to the meet and I am even more sorry for your brother and his family. I cannot imagine just how scary that must have been. It's crazy. I'm glad he is alright though and pulled through the surgery. Heres praying for a speedy recovery, both mental and physical for him and his family!
November 4, 200717 yr yubh8tin, I'm sorry to hear about your brother and his family. I hope all ends up well.

So sorry I missed my first meet and hopefully I will make it to the next meet. That's exceptionally disturbing. I hope your brother and his family remain safe. Consider yourself excused...his time. Where are the pictures??? We were all too busy gabbing away like long-last sorority sisters to click the shutter button.
November 4, 200717 yr Where are the pictures??? We were all too busy gabbing away like long-last sorority sisters to click the shutter button. I was talking about yubh8tin's brother. (yes, Magyar, I'm joking)
November 4, 200717 yr Mine will be coming soon. I just finally posted my Lexington, Ky. photos from the 2nd, so now it's off for Columbus! They will go into my Flickr account until I can have them all identified :)

November 5, 200717 yr Damn I feel left out :( Stupid Via Vite Jeremy Miller is SlipperyFish. The guy in front is Columbusite (with his friend on the right) and the guy in back is CHM_Downtown (not sure if I got the acronym right).
November 5, 200717 yr Atlas=Greg. Columbusite=Keith. CMH_Downtown=Jose. Not Pictured: kingfish out of water & son who went off to the park to play=Mike & Milosz. Sorry to have missed the group shot. It was a blast. Enough of this fancy-pants touriste Columbus. Next year's theme: Grit-o-lumbus.

November 5, 200717 yr Thanks everybody for your thoughts, prayers ,and the jokes  It looks like the meet went well and Rando the pics were great. I think someone said it before, we gotta get to some of the inner city 'hoods' of Columbus just to show something other than the Short North. Nothing wrong with that but i think Columbus has a lot more to offer.
November 5, 200717 yr damnit seicer, thanks for telling us when you were taking the pic. I knew I was going to look ridiculous in this group pic. oh well, i still got it :)
November 6, 200717 yr The picture looks alright, it was a bit of surprise but it worked out. I'm only sorry that not everyone could have been in it. I think I got caught mid sentence.
