April 19, 200718 yr Great shots of OTR, Northside, Prospect Hill. Even on a dreary day these neighborhoods are beautiful and full of character.
April 19, 200718 yr I have always thought this was a very handsome building. I always wondered if there was anything worthwhile left under the modernized facade.
April 19, 200718 yr I notice some of those pics from last year's UO Cincy meet! Thx for finally sharing them with us.

August 4, 201212 yr love this thread - great weather. the changes since then are amazing. this was demolished to make way for mercer commons:
August 4, 201212 yr Usually, I look askance at old thread revivals, but not this time. First, I was delighted to see this one because I had never seen it before and second, I was impressed with the many changes that have ensued in the last five years. Thanks, OTR, for popping up this set of endearing Cincinnati photos once again!
August 4, 201212 yr Does anyone have this angle http://www.pbase.com/deadwing/image/53176265.jpg with Queen City Square?
August 5, 201212 yr Great photos. Despite years of senseless and thoughtless demolitions, Cincinnati still has areas of amazing density and historic architecture. "Character" does, indeed, describe what this thread conveys.
December 31, 201212 yr Awesome photos. Wouldn't mind seeing some gentrification in Over the Rhine. It used to be such a bustling neighborhood when the German immigrants lived there. Now it's full of crime and I am partial to someone purchasing the properties, bull dozing them and getting at least some of the bad elements out of there. They will just move elsewhere in the city but many Cincinnati residents just don't feel safe downtown anymore.

EDIT: not to take you seriously when you might be being sarcastic, but you do realize that OTR has been and is currently undergoing a massive redevelopment/gentrification that started years ago? Have you seen Vine Street south of Liberty in the past three years?
December 31, 201212 yr ^I think jwmann2 is a former Cincinnatian who doesn't live here anymore and hasn't seen the progress we see every day. The photos in this thread above are 5 years old, and even in just those 5 years its amazing to see the changes! Jwmann, if you're free at all this winter or next spring or summer you should definitely swing by and see what's new! It's been a great 5 years for urban living and urban development in Cincinnati.
January 2, 201312 yr Does anyone have this angle http://www.pbase.com/deadwing/image/53176265.jpg with Queen City Square? I don't, but it looks like it was taken from the Vernon Manor.
January 2, 201312 yr I believe it's from the roof of the old Sears building on Reading. The apartment building in the foreground is on Oak but not directly across from the Vernon Manor.
January 2, 201312 yr I don't, but it looks like it was taken from the Vernon Manor. That is correct. I was there when that photo was taken (almost 6 years ago!). "You don't just walk into a bar and mix it up by calling a girl fat" - buildingcincinnati speaking about new forumers
January 2, 201312 yr Yeah, I can't tell if jwmann2 is trolling or serious. OTR is currently undergoing a huge renaissance--you should check it out!
January 2, 201312 yr I'd be lying if I said I wasn't jealous of Cincinnati's architecture. We try not to rub it in. Come visit and take pics! :D (And post them!)
January 2, 201312 yr I'd be lying if I said I wasn't jealous of Cincinnati's architecture. We try not to rub it in. Come visit and take pics! :D (And post them!) I have already actually. See: http://www.urbanohio.com/forum2/index.php/topic,28029.msg648784.html#msg648784 Can't wait to make another trip back.
January 2, 201312 yr Ahh, I remember that thread. Just didn't remember it was yours. Good stuff! Also in that thread: Superb set of photos; makes me want to go back for another visit soon. Sadly, he won't make it back for another visit.
January 5, 201312 yr Kinda sad something like this: Wasn't done to this: Oh well, water under the bridge now.
