I drive past that site every day and to say they've moved fast is an understatement. In the past week the elevator/stairwell towers look to be nearly complete already. It's good to see that dead area finally getting filled in.

I actually just got a new apartment in Birdtown, so I'm looking forward to getting some more development pics in the Lakewood area this summer!

The first place I ever lived in the Cleveland area was Birdtown, 24 years ago. It’s changed dramatically, but I love how it’s evolved.

Located at 13465 Franklin Boulevard, the 29,000-square-foot building -- which opened in 1907 as an elementary school -- eventually became a community charter school Lakewood City Academy and later home to the Franklin School of Opportunity.

As for the public auction, that takes place June 23 with a minimum bid/reserve set at $275,000.
