Is anyone really going to drive from Cleveland to Columbus, or Cincy to Cleveland to buy their MacBook? Exactly, flagship stores aren't tied to states. It's not like Apple would be hoping to draw from the 3 Cs but not Detroit or Pittsburgh if flagships are a regional draw. Edited October 2, 2024Oct 2 by jam40jeff
October 3, 2024Oct 3 Why is DSG moving from Crocker? I would have thought the Crocker store would be better performing than Great Northern even though Great Northern is a larger building built by Galyan's Sporting Goods.

But their new store in Avon is currently under construction. It’s roughly half the size of the Crocker store, which may have something to do with the decision.

Most DSGs also seem to have adjacent parking, which Crocker does not.

Not an issue at other DSGs I've seen. I'm not all that familiar with the layout there. Like I said it's a bit too condensed for me. :). Edited October 3, 2024Oct 3 by E Rocc

The Great Northern store has their discount store, Going Going Gone, across the street. I'm sure that played into it as well.
February 26Feb 26 Anyone have a subscription to Cleveland.com that can see what businesses are opening? The part of the article with the full list is paywalled: https://www.cleveland.com/entertainment/2025/02/crocker-park-adds-restaurant-multiple-retail-stores-and-businesses.html Crocker Park adds restaurant, multiple retail stores and businesses
February 26Feb 26 @geowizical, hi, you can see the press release mentioning the 11 new entrants at Crockerpark.com, under the news tab.
February 26Feb 26 11? That is impressive. I wish they could get more housing. And that Burntwood didn't close too.
February 26Feb 26 ^ i looked at the press release, nice mix of new shoppes. and this is geeky, but i also noticed they mention crocker park in total is 4.5M sq ft and i couldn’t help but compare that to the new tokyo torch tower which has 6M sq ft all in one freakin building. 🙀😂

Is it going to be a regular DSG or the new concept House of Sports going to Southpark?Otherwise makes sense to get closer to the booming Avon area and further away from the great northern warehouse concept.

April 9Apr 9 There seems to be quite a few closures at Crocker recently. https://www.cleveland19.com/2025/04/07/with-vacant-storefronts-dicks-moving-crocker-park-transitions/

Of course, that gets buried in the article because trigger words like "closures" and "vacant" gets clicks. Edited April 9Apr 9 by Geowizical

Of course, that gets buried in the article because trigger words like "closures" and "vacant" gets clicks. We see the same thing in manufacturing. A major layoff is news, a place opening or hiring a lot of people is usually ignored except by what is euphemistically called "sponsored content".
April 9Apr 9 The 19 News article got it wrong about where the new d**k's Sporting Goods in Avon is going. It's not going to be in Avon Commons, it's going to be on Chester Rd., which is on the other side of 90. Edited April 9Apr 9 by landofcleve

There's really only a few new stores going in, the rest were either relocations in Crocker or expansions. But I do get your point.
April 9Apr 9 Pinstripes is taking over the whole d**k’s building. Arhaus is taking over not just the Burntwood space, but the Pulpo space, and the former popcorn shop next to it. Bar Louie is in bankruptcy and is closing most locations.
