May 14, 200718 yr A Piqua. Troy's hated (once) bigger brother. "You don't just walk into a bar and mix it up by calling a girl fat" - buildingcincinnati speaking about new forumers
May 14, 200718 yr Sad, but it's not like they're doing anything to stop it. If they don't care for their towns, who will? I guess people on Urban Ohio forums, but that's not enough to keep them in good shape.
May 14, 200718 yr I knew about that old hotel, but, wow, I didn't know they had such a great old vintage mill/factory there! I am going to have to check that out. BTW, there is a French Provincial mansion in Piqua identical to one in Dayton.
May 16, 200718 yr From the pics, I think the city looks in fairly decent shape actually. I guess I'm the only one.
May 17, 200718 yr Wasn't Piqua once a sort of focal point for gays from the surrounding area and some of the smaller towns, or am I thinking of someplace else? I seem to recall watching a drunk drag queen fall off the stage at a somewhat tacky, rowdy, fun bar called the Water Main, at the corner of Water and Main Streets. That would have been in the mid-to-late seventies.

That would have been in the mid-to-late seventies. That may be but I always think of Lima as more of a hub for that part of Ohio. They still have a gay bar. Or they did a few years ago.
May 23, 200718 yr From the pics, I think the city looks in fairly decent shape actually. I guess I'm the only one. I agree. Some great older buildings, and nothing too shabby and beyond saving. Guess I've got another smaller city to add to my list of places to try to hit at least once. Thanks for the tour Ink.
