October 16, 201014 yr So New Mehring Way is supposed to open in November- they've already put street lights up and were doing the under the bridge cement pour on Friday when I walked by. About a week ago they did the intersection over by elm and the intersection by Nuxhall has been done for awhile. Also, the two parking lots on either side of the new road now have entrance booths lining New Mehring since Old Mehring will be ripped up soon. Pretty exciting.

October 18, 201014 yr Looking at the roof of the project, they placed a MASSIVE HVAC behemoth up there near the SE section....on stilts. Looks to be the size of a studio apartment. Kind of disappointing that they do not appear to be making a roof deck anywhere up there.

When standing on Walnut looking towards GABP you can see the large courtyard type area (currently just black framing that was recently put in) that I'm pretty sure will be developed. What I'm wondering, is if it will be accessible only to the residents, or if it will be an outdoor place for employees in the 15 story tower to use as well. you can sort of see here:

This afternoon they were prepping for the concrete pour on the west side of the Robeling span. Stripe it Friday and it should be ready to go Saturday I'd think. November 1, 201014 yr Nope- Not open. It's hard to see in that photo, but there are still basic fences blocking the road (all vehicles were owned/operated by the construction companies. On the other side of the bridge they were just pouring dirt into the islands. It didn't look like it was totally ready. Also, as you can see, the westbound side of the road only has one lane of cement poured..
November 1, 201014 yr Was just down there. CPO directing traffic at Mehring Way & Main St. while the lights/traffic signal are tested. Should open sometime today... It appears that traffic will be one lane in each direction using the south side of the road. You can see the westbound lanes returning to the north side of the road in the pic below. November 2, 201014 yr I'm assuming it's also partly to celebrate the reopening of the Suspension Bridge too. This isn't just some random road either, it's a major component of the Central Riverfront Park project and it's right on the doorstep to the city. It's a big deal for reclaiming part of the riverfront around one of Cincinnati's most iconic and beloved structures. The road itself isn't immensely important, but what it represents is.
