June 3, 200718 yr I too like the night shots and people shots, particulary the one through the window of the BBQ place....
June 4, 200718 yr Damn good pictures. The Neon cinema looks interesting. The Neon is very interesting, and is very popular in the Dayton area. They show some pretty cool movies too.
March 30, 200817 yr Where is the building in the shot under the Urban Nights sidewalk photo (in the Dayton section)?
March 30, 200817 yr I totally missed this amazing thread! The closest I've ever been to Dayton was Eaton, and well, I wish I would have been to Dayton instead of Eaton lol
March 31, 200817 yr Wow, I too must have missed this thread! These are the best Dayton pics I have ever seen. I really must get up there and explore Dayton this summer.
March 31, 200817 yr Beautiful! And for a new house, that is really nice. 100 years from now, there will be a LOT of character with this. I can't wait.
March 31, 200817 yr Dolcessa moved from the OD to Brown St (?) near UD. If only Dayton would replace those buses attached to those wires with streetcars. They wouldn't need a huge system and it'd make a huge difference.
March 31, 200817 yr I hope they never get rid of the Electric Trolley Busses, as its one of the hallmarks of Dayton. The Electric Trolley system is actually one of only five left in the country, and the longest-running of the five. As for streetcars, you can still see remnants of it in some parts of the city if you look hard enough. I was driving on Wyoming St. next to Woodland Cemetery over the weekend and noticed parts of the road had been eroded away during winter. You can clearly see remaining rail tracks from the streetcars underneath the torn asphalt. There are a number of old photos around of the Streetcars operating around the Watervliet, Wayne Ave, and Arbor St. junction. One used to go down the hill to Wyoming Street long long ago.
April 1, 200817 yr Where is the building in the shot under the Urban Nights sidewalk photo (in the Dayton section)? It's in Grafton Hill. "You don't just walk into a bar and mix it up by calling a girl fat" - buildingcincinnati speaking about new forumers
February 18, 200916 yr Dolcessa moved from the Oregon District to Brown St. by UD so it's still open.
February 19, 200916 yr Is it me or is this identical to the Groton Lofts in DT Cincy? http://urbanohio.com/SWOhio/Dayton/2007/May/2007DaytonMay6.jpg
February 19, 200916 yr Great shots Chris. I need to get with Seicer and go to Dayton to check out some abandoned buildings. P.S: 60 days, 9 hours, 53 mins, 32 seconds.
February 19, 200916 yr I want a backstage tour of your avatar! "You don't just walk into a bar and mix it up by calling a girl fat" - buildingcincinnati speaking about new forumers
December 21, 200915 yr I need to get with Seicer and go to Dayton to check out some abandoned buildings. ...plenty to choose from!
December 21, 200915 yr VERY NICE!!! Indeed. Proof that the right combination of technical skill, good shot selection, and cropping can make even Dayton look good.
December 22, 200915 yr  Yes, because Dayton is the ONLY city to get treated with crops and saturation. Good lord. It has nothing to do with "technical skill" and everything to do with the subject matter of which was photographed. Every city has beauty (including Dayton and Louisville) and it needs to be showcased. It's not like I photoshopped in a nice old Italianate house into some forest next to a coffee shop. December 22, 200915 yr VERY NICE!!! Indeed. Proof that the right combination of technical skill, good shot selection, and cropping can make even Dayton look good. Congratulations, Jeffery!!! You are now officially a local citizen ;)
December 22, 200915 yr You are now officially a local citizen ;) Hah...yeah, DDN comments redux......but if I was really a local I'd read your beads for implying I was a Dayton citizen, rather than a Centerville or Beavercreek one... But, seriously, these pix do bring out the good side of the city, brinig out the beauty of the place, as ColDayMan says...he has an eye for that....
December 22, 200915 yr But, seriously, these pix do bring out the good side of the city, brinig out the beauty of the place, as ColDayMan says...he has an eye for that.... Dayton has a good side to you Jeffery? Stop the presses and break out the band, Dayton has permission to stop sulking. Halleluia, praise the Lord! There is hope for the Doomed City yet.
December 26, 200915 yr I LOVE that house at Forest and Grand! It's decorated very nice for Christmas. It is such a beautiful house!
January 1, 201015 yr Don't know if this has been posted here before. A cool film of Downtown Dayton in 1970, set to Mason Williams' Classical Gas
April 29, 201213 yr Very nice job on this... so much energy devoted to the subject. Glad this city inspired you to do it.
