Posted June 9, 200718 yr If anybody lives/has a place/knows someone who has a place in Atlanta (preferably near Alpharetta)...please let me know!!! I desperately need a place to live, and I start my co-op on June 18th...I really don't want to live out of my car!
June 9, 200718 yr Good news: I hear Whitney has room in her crib. Bad news: Bobby would be your house mate. :drunk: :drunk: LA Reid & Usher live nearby, which tells you this isn't a great place to live. I'll call Kelly Price, BabyFace, T Boz, Ciara, Lil Jon and my dawg Luda and see if one of them can put you up! No matter where you live, you will need a/your car and an Indy 500 drivers defensive attitude!
June 9, 200718 yr Don't you guys love the beginning of that song, I think it's Chris Brown, where he's like ... "live from Atlanta Georgia" ... ... and after a couple of months and listening to that song a couple of hundred times, it just sounds silly, because he's not singing that live from ATL, GA anymore. He may have been once back in March, but it's June now.
June 13, 200718 yr Alright everyone...no need to worry. I found a place today in Atlanta in Dunwoody and it's close to a MARTA stop!!!
June 13, 200718 yr Alright everyone...no need to worry. I found a place today in Atlanta in Dunwoody and it's close to a MARTA stop!!! Don't you mean "the" marta stop? And what is close? That station is on the N/S line which doesn't run all day. IIRC, think after 8PM, and on holidays/weekends, the line only runs between five stops and in order to continue trips south, you have to transfe to the NE/S line. Please find out what "close" means.
June 14, 200718 yr How long will you be living in HOTlanta? The first stint will be June 18th - September 14th...then I will be back in Cincinnati for 3 months and head back to 'HOTlanta' for another 3 months after the start of the new year (January 3rd or so). Yeah Randy are you going to get some night and weekend hours at Panera? No. I will not be working with Panera at all, while I am in Atlanta...just Urban Planning work and exploring Atlanta/nearby areas on the side. Hopefully meeting some cool people along the way. Close means like a 5 or so minute drive from my apt. to the station. There is a crapton of parking available for park & ride at the station...so that would probably work best (unfortunately I will not have a bike with me). I don't know much about MARTA yet, so the reliability may very well be sketchy and it may be difficult to navigate, but I'll figure it out and let everyone know how my experience is along the way. ***get ready for a lot of Atlanta photo threads...I don't know anyone, so urban exploring will be the way to pass time while I'm there***

I usually take it to/from the airport to my office in ATL, but its not like it covers the entire city. If you need recommendations of things to do, holler. Just stay away from the GA Aquarium....things die in there! You don't want to end up a casualty.
June 14, 200718 yr ^i think he is a traitor. I hope you enjoy watching the Altanta Ballet dance to recorded music because they couldn't even afford to have an orchestra

Maybe I'm spoiled by the Cleveland arts, but I feel The Cleveland School of the Arts could dance cirlce around them! and do not get me started on the "fabulous" Fox theatre!

June 14, 200718 yr Sounds like UncleR is going on his UC required Coop, so he hasn't completely defected, plus I don't blame him for wanting to experience other parts of the country. (this way he'll no how good we have it in Ohio)

Glad things worked out Randy; have a fun summer!
June 14, 200718 yr ^You're right...this is the second round (of three) required co-op sessions. My first was in Hamilton, OH...and this one I wanted to go outside of Cincinnati so that I could see how planning works in another part of the country. I have never spent any significant time down south...so it should be a good learning experience. Not only for planning stuff, but life in general. I really look forward to the opportunity, but I also will be VERY excited to return home to Cincinnati. If all goes according to plan, I will get my final co-op job in the Cincinnati area and try to get hired on as soon as I graduate. So if you know anyone...let 'em know that I graduate Spring '09!
June 14, 200718 yr Are there any cities you don't have an office/condo in? Lol.. TW has offices every damn where! But I only have cribs in LA, Cleve & NYC. All my projects are cross divisional so on occasion I have to travel to where things happen. Plus I don't want to be a "at a distance" boss. It's not fair to the staff in outer offices. My job is "based" in NYC, but I have direct reports/staff in LA, Wash DC, London, Hong Kong, Tokyo, Chicago, Paris & now one in ATL. So today I could be at Turner in ATL; Tomorrow on Capital Hill in DC; Monday ringing the bell for TIME at the Stock Exchange; Tuesday at EW party for Nancy Drew then at the premier of Oceans 3000 in LA.....its just crazy! This week alone I've had to deal with the "death of Tony Soprano", the in appropriate behavior of a CEO in Vegas;, Harry f*ckin Potter and the Closer. ugh!
