Posted July 3, 200717 yr this is a funny promotion for the simpsons movie. -- except they forgot to put one in kentucky -- isn't that where the "real" springfield is supposed to be? yeah thanks alot hollywood, come again :whip: updated 6:45 p.m. EDT, Mon July 2, 2007 7-Elevens turn into 'Simpsons' Kwik-E-Marts DALLAS, Texas (AP) -- Over the weekend, 7-Eleven Inc. turned a dozen stores into Kwik-E-Marts, the fictional convenience stores of "The Simpsons" fame, in the latest example of marketers making life imitate art. Those stores and most of the 6,000-plus other 7-Elevens in North America will sell items that until now existed only on television: Buzz Cola, KrustyO's cereal and Squishees, the slushy drink knockoff of Slurpees. ...
July 3, 200717 yr ^Actually they are going to feature duff beer (or so I heard). Not sure what brand is doing that promotion.
July 3, 200717 yr They are trying to mimic qwik-e-marts down to the products so maybe we'll get some duff. :) Products so far Squishe's = Now with 900% more sugar Krusty-Os = Comes with free minature razor discs. (in the cereal) Buzz Cola = Featuring a caffiene induced seizure every 50th can Duff Beer = Keep away from Barney Exaggerating of course XD
July 3, 200717 yr wait, where did you guys see they were going to have duff beer? cause i'd be all over that! the article says no duff: But they won't find Duff beer, the brand chugged by Homer Simpson. The movie will be rated PG-13, and selling a Simpson-themed beer "didn't seem to fit," said Rita Bargerhuff, a 7-Eleven marketing executive. "That was a tough call, but we want to make sure it's considered good, responsible fun." my spouse said the ny kwik-e is on 23rd st so i'll get over there asap and grab a squishy and some pics!
July 4, 200717 yr Damn, my sources aren't very reliable! I blame the Springfield paper. Any paper with the 1st Page headline "Spinning Newspaper Injuries up 600%" probably isn't a good source. *looks at own posts in thread* Oh... oh.... so this is MY fault...!? Whatever ><
