I know this is kind of short notice, but some friends and myself are traveling down to Cincinnati this weekend. We won't be leaving until tommorow morning, so, what is going on on Saturday and Sunday? I figure it best to get some info from locals, and most of the touristly things I have looked up on the computer do not look terribly entertaining. We definitly plan on hitting Camp Washington Chili (they are the best right?), but outside of that, no idea.

On sunday, there is second sunday on main from 12-5.  They have Christian Morlein beer, and other stuff.  The reds are at home 7pm sat, 1:15 sunday.  For the reds game, park over in Kentucky, go to Hofbrau house, have a liter or two, walk across the bridge to the stadium, makes for a nice evening.  And the reds let you bring in food and drinks (non-alcholic) if they are in sealed, unopened containers.  so buy the peanuts on the outside.

Paddlefest this weekend, which means boat racing on the ohio, but that is earlier in the morning.

Zoo is really cool.  Art Musuem is free, as is the Krohn Conservatory.

I would recomend citybeat.com  Lot of cool bars in Northside, Mt. Adams, Downtown/OTR.  Arnold's on 8th street is a great place to get some food and drinks.  They have an excellent courtyard.

hope that helped.

Also, now until July 31, the Red's Hall of Fame has free admission with purchase of a game day ticket.  So if you plan on going to the game, get there early to go to the Hall of Fame first for free.

Oh, are there are always architectural tours given by Architreks.  This weekend:

Saturday:

Mt. Adams Tour at 10:00 am leaving St. Gregory & Pavilion Streets. (I'll be the tour guide)

Downtown Tour at 2:00 pm leaving from Contemporary Arts Center

Sunday:

Over-the-Rhine at 10:00 am leaving from Coffee Emporium at 110 E. Central Parkway

Downtown at 2:00 pm leaving from Contemporary Arts Center

Not sure if we will be in town in time for the 10, but that 2 o'clock sounds fun.

Second Sunday "on main," is that downtown, or close to OTR?

Thanks for the help folks!

in OTR, between 13th and Liberty streets.

Second Sunday is highly recommended!  You could check out Findlay Market while you are OTR as well!

If you have never been to the Contemporary Arts Center before (downtown 6th and Walnut), you should check it out.

I second the museums: CAC and CAM! Great museums.

Also, are you guys looking for night-life options as well? How old are you guys?

We are all in our mid-20's. We thought about just poking around downtown to see what we find. I thought I heard there was some entertaining nightlife in Covington, we thought about just parking somewhere there or in Mt. Adams if we saw people.

I think we are going to see the Taft Museum and the Contemporary Art museum. Perhaps go see a Reds game and then see what we can find after the game for fun. We thought about taking one of those tours if we have time. I guess we will see what the day brings. Thanks so much you all! Big help.

7th St. in the CBD has about 3 bars that fill up after the Reds games and on weekend nights (Sully's, McFaddens, and The Lodge Bar).

Go up to Mt. Adams on Friday or Saturday night! Just park your car or take a quick cab ride up and walk from bar to bar to bar. Main Strasse and Newport on the Levee are ok. I haven't hung out there in a while.

Another entertainment hotspot is Mt. Lookout. Not far at all from downtown and there are many bars/restaurants to eat at!

All in all ... Mt. Adams is my favorite place to go for bar-hopping.
