July 7, 200717 yr I llke it...I am usually not in to movie/corporate tie in crap, but as a Simpsons fan, I gotta love it. They also did one with Jet Blue Airlines were Monty Burns takes over the web page http://www.jetblue.com/about/ourcompany/flightlog/ i did not know about that one -- check it out -- too funny! Hi I'm Montgomery Burns, Here's my newest attempt at robbing a man of his livelihood. I have temporarily taken over David Neeleman's Log as I believe I have more efficient ways to run this airline. I could crush him like an ant. 1-July-2007 Dear Mr. Neeleman, Smithers entered my chambers this morning, toting wretched tales of congenial customer service and overly indulgent amenities on your JetBlue Airways. And for what… your precious passengers? Soon, the riff raff will demand 'fair treatment' from all corporate overlords, like myself. Well, not in my chemically prolonged life-time. I had Smithers hack your interwebular chronicle so I may set you straight, because lately, David Neeleman, your business practices really chafe my bed sores. I believe customers have the right to keep quiet as I pluck every penny from their upturned pockets, but you insist on charging honest fares AND offering free TV and unlimited snacks. Mind your profit margins, man. Your rates make a mockery of the corporate greed our great confederacy was built upon. Who taught you to be a robber baron? Mother Teresa? This won't be your last public lashing, Mr. Neeleman. Oh no. I have many more brittle bones to pick with you. Sincerely, C. Montgomery Burns
July 8, 200717 yr I love the 7 Eleven transformation...in all honesty they should change all of their stores to that kind of look/design...permanently.
August 20, 200717 yr d'oh -- i should have bought somwthing more than just a squishy! After 7-Eleven, Simpsons Move to eBay Sign In to E-Mail or Save This Print Reprints Share DiggFacebookNewsvinePermalink By LIA MILLER Published: August 20, 2007 As Apu, the owner of the Kwik-E-Mart store in “The Simpsons,” would say, “Thank you, come again.” Joyce Dopkeen/The New York Times Fans of the TV series have been doing just that, bidding up Kwik-E-Mart mementos for sale on eBay that are left over from a promotion for “The Simpsons Movie.” In July, a dozen 7-Eleven stores were transformed into Kwik-E-Marts, with employees wearing the green-and-blue uniform shirt that Apu wears. On the shelves were products that are familiar to “Simpsons” viewers: Squishees (replacing Slurpees), Buzz Cola, Krusty-O’s cereal, and Bart Simpson’s favorite comic book, Radioactive Man. During the stunt, fans came in droves, snapping pictures and waiting in long lines; some stores hired extra security staff. But now that it is over, some people are selling their loot. A search on eBay for “Kwik-E-Mart” yields more than 180 items, from a $1.99 Squishee cup to a $200 Kwik-E-Mart shirt. The asking price for a box of Krusty-O’s is $10, the same as for a six-pack of Buzz Cola. A spokesman for Fox Broadcasting, Gregg Brilliant, said the promotion had surpassed expectations: “Anytime you make something that appeals directly to a fan base, in a limited quantity, for a limited amount of time, naturally you are going to have a collectible value.” Rita Bargerhuff, a marketing director for 7-Eleven, said that all of the Kwik-E-Mart items had sold out, and sales from the promotion were “off the charts.” Dilip Chaudhari, the assistant store manager for a 7-Eleven in Manhattan that was transformed — and where a Kwik-E-Mart shirt is for sale — said the store had double the number of customers during the promotion. It was a “crazy month,” he said. http://www.nytimes.com/2007/08/20/business/media/20simpsons.html?ex=1188273600&en=a4fd5d9b05154dd8&ei=5070&emc=eta1 A Homer Simpson prop at a 7-Eleven in Manhattan. Items from a Kwik-E-Mart promotion at the stores have popped up for sale on eBay.
August 26, 200717 yr Aside from the Simpsons theme, I have to say that's a much nicer 7/11 than the ones you'll find in Ohio.
August 26, 200717 yr Aside from the Simpsons theme, I have to say that's a much nicer 7/11 than the ones you'll find in Ohio. I am not sure if we would get the "3 for the price of 3" thing
August 26, 200717 yr At least they keep it real, unlike Kroger. "10 for $10" knowing most shoppers don't realize you can buy only 1 and still get the pro rated price :)
