Just curious, why show this neighborhood over all others in Dallas?

Because it is historic Oak Cliff. This part of town use to be the premier part of Dallas. It has since declined. It is a very hilly and wooded area.

Wood framed shacks were the premiere part of Dallas? Does Dallas have any historic districts? There has to be nicer stuff that's preserved than this..
