THE COLUMBUS DISPATCH

If you're trying to think cool thoughts in this 90-degree heat, add a few more snowplows to those daydreams.

Reacting to criticism that streets weren't cleared quickly enough after a pair of February storms, the Columbus City Council voted last night to add 13 plows to the city's winter fleet...

Great...$1.4 million to have sidestreets cleared 4 hours earlier on one day out of the year.

People should learn to enjoy the snow and, heaven forbid, a day off work.

Now, if they can just figure out the concept of actually putting a plow on the pavement when it snows!  In 21 years living in Clintonville, I have seen a snow plow with the blade down exactly twice.  The rest of the time these road aces just spread salt & sand.... and we're stuck with huge ruts in frozen snow until the Spring thaw.

I'll believe the improvement when I see it.
