November 20, 201311 yr I could be wrong, but I believe the parking lot shown in the master plan is reconfigured and wider (e.g., there is a green buffer between it and the CIA building that's not there now) and East 117/new Campus Drive extension looks a bit wider than the current brick alley, which would eat into some of the COOP site. But you're right- I didn't eyeball that very well. And I really shouldn't be putting much stock into an old master plan anyway.

I saw work that implied they were adding underground wiring and then nothing new visible. This was discussed briefly here last fall.

I note that the HUD Section 8 contract for that building expires at the end of June, and the condition scores for the complex are quite poor (see top of page 41 http://www.nhtinc.org/downloads/0926ohiosection8expiringcontractsreport.pdf) . There may actually be something to this rumor.

This property would be a great opportunity to not only extend University Circle north, but to create new market rate housing along Rockefeller Park and the Cultural Gardens. It could even lead to the renovation of several of the apartment building just north of it.

If they mean a project of homes to purchase, rather than to rent, I'm certain that isn't correct because both the townhouses along the railroad tracks, and the colored section of the complex at the corner of Euclid Avenue and East 118th Street are individually owned townhouses.

I think when they say they are the only "for sale project" they mean currently under construction and for sale for the first time. Once a project has been completed/sold out it is no longer a "project", just like the 100 year old houses are no longer "for sale projects".

February 26, 201411 yr Last week a sidewalkshed/scaffolding went up outside the Commodore apt bldg for facade repair to the Euclid Ave side. Saturday, a man evadinng police jumped out of an 8th floor window but did not immediately perish because his fall was tempered by the Subway awning and the sidewalk shed. Bac (restaurant from Tremont) will put their eastside spot on the ground floor of this building (b/t Circle Conveinence and Subway, i've been told)
February 28, 201411 yr Does anyone know if the exterior will be restored at all - e.g. more historic looking windows? This was, after all, one of the five luxury apartment-hotels built around the same time in the University Circle area and it used to look a lot better.
