thanks for showing this -- i have only seen pics of it.

predictably phoney, butt ugly and gawd awful, but it is what it is.

DO YOU NOT SEE BIKES, FERRARIS, PEDESTRIANS AND A TROLLEY (ALL OF THIS ON NARROW STREETS) CO-EXISTING ON THE FOURTH PIC FROM THE BOTTOM?!?!

It's damn good for being phoney; and when compared to other Ohio malls..ha!

there's a new one --- yelling about how cool you think your mall is.

I'm coming down off of a sugar high. Too much coke.

i bet but i see why you need it --- i see you use imageshack too to host. that site has been a real pain over the last month, at least the free version i use.

Its the one I've always used, so I've just stuck with what I know. What's the better one? I'd like to be able to select numerous pics at once and hit enter and magically there is a link for each. Otherwise, imagehosting is time consuming!

I remember in winter when Jesus was on the Cheesecake factory

I haven't puked this bad in a while

Well I do beleive it's Monday morning in Athens.

tell me about it, i am in the same boat as you with imageshack. i am just too used to it, but it only usually works loading one pic at a time. i think there is a pay version where you can more easily do batch loading, not sure, i was hoping you might know.

regardless, it wouldnt help anyway if the site was acting as wacky as it has been lately. i read about people complaining about it who use it on ssp too.

i think most people here use pbase.

there's something about taking pictures in a lifestyle center.

I feel retarded, and people must think i'm retarded for taking pictures of a mall, but they secretly don't realize that I think they are retards for building this/shopping there and i'm mocking them on a website.

I use photobucket.  They also have a pay version wich is like 20 or 25 bucks a year.  I have that one because I take LOADS of pictures and upload them. I like photobucket alot.

any mall with a cheesecake factory on the premises is a BIG "no-no".

as opposed to one with a big boy's?

I almost choked on my coffee!  The old school stand alone, drive in style big boy's are cool, but in a mall...HELL NO!

Since the average American still desires 'suburban malls' I would much prefer one that has some character, pedestrian layout and outdoor space to a typical mall or strip center. I believe Easton Core is definitely better than what use to be built but, not as good as a real urban or suburban mixed use center that has residential, office and retail truly mixed together.

^ This is coming from the guy that used to live in Indy! I bet you'd like Easton ... Ha! ;)

... I'm just giving you a hardtime, rage.

I think it looks pretty nice too

What is this??

That's some sexy stamped aluminum.

What is this??

That is Ruehl! I bought a shirt there :)

These patrons don't realize it, but Easton is an essential element of a grand, multi-generational de-burbification process.

(rubs hands together conspiratorially)

^^  Those Ruehl No 925 stores must all try to look like that...a strip of rowhouses in Greenwich Village.  It's A&F's top of the line brand, a much more overpriced Abercrombie.  Bought a pair of sweat pants there once and still can't get the smell of the damn cologne out of them.  It's just plain weird.

^LMAO!! I thought the same thing. Everything is F-ing doused in cologne, even the walls. It gets annoying. I hate going into A&F because its louder than a danceclub.  *me walking up to the cash-wrap*

Sales Rep: "Do you have a favorite cologne with us?"

Me: "WHAT?!?"

Sales Rep: "Do YOU HAVE A FAVORITE COLOGNE WITH US?!"

Me: "WHAT?!?!?"

^Even reading the transcript I have no idea what the hell is being said.

They have their good looking minimum wage workers push their obscure products. Its always stuff you normally wouldn't walk in to buy or notice. But it allows them to maximize profits. Wexner is evil! Easton should be downtown; with better architecture. Not next to his estate.

We all wish we lived near a Trader Joes. Wexner makes it so.

"Bought a pair of sweat pants there once and still can't get the smell of the damn cologne out of them."

Give 'em a few shots of Oxy-Clean spray and throw them in the wash - annoying commercials but it works! My partner will pick up stuff from A&F on rare occasions - I always chuckle when the twinky salespeople ask us if we need anything. Since he's busy shopping, I just mouth "what?" and cup my ear - after the third time they just smile, shrug and walk away. I just can't support a place like that - the first time I set foot in one, I saw some decent button-down shirts - then I noticed it looked like someone spilled coffee all over them and the stain had set. Silly me, the shirts were "Tea-Stained Vintage" - yay, pre-stained shirts for $60.00!!!

Personally I find it insulting that people pay 60 dollars for shirts that go through processes that make it look like something you can get for a buck at a thrift store. Why wouldn't you want clothes with vibrant colors?

Twinks!  Yuk!  However, I love how dastardly you are!  Ingenious!  LOL

As I've never set foot in one of those pre-teen/teen porn shops - Are you f*ckin' for real?

Finally photos of downtown Columbus.

I used to think these were better alternatives than malls, but I'm not so sure that they are much better in terms of sustainability.  They are still destination points only (for the most part...hell The Greene in Dayton has hours of operation); so you have everyone driving to get there in mass quanities.  The residential portions (if there are any) are usually a drop in the bucket and really don't offer a real mixed-use environment.

On top of all this they're elitist/exclusionary.  They intentionally cater to the rich, and create a resort-type atmosphere for those individuals...I just don't see how it's much different from your typical mall.  You're outside instead of inside, pricier retailers, takes up a little less land (ala parking decks v. lots), and sometimes has a water feature...but for that matter, so do most malls.

To me these "lifestyle" centers are nothing more than an inside-out mall.

^yes, but do they have giant chess boards?

Easton IS a better alternative to the typical indoor malls. There is office space above retail, and next to it. You can parallel park next to a storefront (okay, if you're lucky). There are a few parking garages and there are a lot of apartments within walking distance to Easton. It's definitely a better mixed-use environment than a mall like Tuttle, or Cincinnati Mills in Cincinnati. My screaming in defense of Easton was more sarcasm than anything. I know Easton looks ugly, fake, sterile, etc and that malls aren't sustainable for long. I didn't make the thread to promote an elitist exclusionary mall, I made it just to show what's going on at Easton, and it's a very vibrant place...for now. It's not Magnificant Mile but it's still one of the best malls in Ohio.
