November 30, 200816 yr I know Seicer has that image saved in his favorites. Seicer, can you please answer my question upthread about the pixie-bob, please? ;)
November 30, 200816 yr Oh, my mother got him from a farm. No idea on anything else. I just found out he has roundworms. Gotta get that cleaned up!
November 30, 200816 yr Welcome to Hush Tours. “H’us’h” Tours stands for the “us” in Hip-Hop. We are a sightseeing tour company and through one of our luxury bus and walking tours, we bring tourists like you to the boroughs that have influenced today’s most popular genre of music; Hip Hop. We take you around Harlem, Queens, Brooklyn, Manhattan, and “The Boogie Down Bronx” to show you where this revolutionary phenomenon originated. Who better to take this journey with other than the legends themselves? Travel with Rap pioneers like Grandmaster Caz, Kurtis Blow, and DJ Red Alert for an insight into Hip Hop’s history as well as commentary on its present and future. The tours include exclusive photo ops, live performances, and an experience that will last a lifetime. Hush Tours doesn't bring you to Hip-Hop, it brings Hip-Hop to you. The tours’ goal is to ultimately educate those who may not necessarily understand the roots of this ever-growing culture. There are four different tours to choose from. Each tour is an interactive presentation on a luxury bus hosted by some of our Celebrity friends, each of which has had a significant input with in Hip Hop culture. They all expose Hip Hop’s progression, its involvement in today’s issues, and most importantly its future. Groups of all ages glance at Hip Hop’s portion of the “Big Apple” while riding on the subway and walking passed places like the Apollo Theatres, Magic Johnson Studios, VH1 and MTV Studios, BET’s 106th and Park, and visiting The Museum of the City of New York. Our inexpensive tours make great family fun. Also, our interactive workshops, give children a hands on experience of the different forms of art that derived from Hip-Hop such as graffiti, break dancing, and scratching turntables. We are a Hip-Hop look at New York. Come take a ride. For Bookings and Tickets please contact Zerve at 800-979-3370 or 212-209-3370 (Int'l). ---------------------------------------------------------------- These guys are legends. I can't believe Kurtis Blow is doing tours of NYC for cash! He paved the way for an entire genre of music. Will Cam'ron be doing Off-Broadway in 10 years?
November 30, 200816 yr ENNOUGH! Jesus. This isn't the first time these pics have been posted in this thread. So?
November 30, 200816 yr ENNOUGH! Jesus. This isn't the first time these pics have been posted in this thread. So? If it means that much to you to see David Hasselhoff shirtless, by all means continue with it
December 1, 200816 yr OK, so I'm a nosey bitch. I like to view apartments for sale by rich folks. Today me and a couple of my staff members went to look at a pad and this is what was in teh bedroom. How in the world do you ask 6.5 million dollars when your coop is stuck in the 70's?? Only in NYC. ::) ::) ::)
December 1, 200816 yr That's tacky as hell. It's like a biker getting tattoos of naked women. It's amazing people will spend millions on a house in the prime areas of manhattan then they'll look like sh!t on the inside. Seriously, why not just live a mile or two away and spend that money inside your apt? I can't wait until I'm rich, the inside of my house is going to be crazy. I want a spiral staircase leading up to the loft. Exposed brick, granite, hardwood, those cool fiberglass bricks that light from the next room over penetrates through, nice colored accent walls, and a secret passageway via the revolving book case. I'm also getting one of those paintings where the eyes stare at you. It'll be some high tech painting that has a motion sensor so the eyes know where to go. Hehe. I got that sh!t all figured out.

David, most of these people have lived in their homes for years and probably aren't rich. its that the homes values increased so much, they can't afford to move or upgrade to what you "see" or "think" a manhattan apartment is supposed to look like. I know I couldn't afford to live in a 1500 sq. foot apartment with partial views of CP. These folks think "location" is what is going to sell there homes but some of them are tacky as hell on the inside and they need upgrades, updates and staging. BADLY!

NO YOU DONT. I had a spiral staircase in my "open floor" planned apartment in brooklyn. it was an eyesore. I hated that apartment.
December 1, 200816 yr Yeah, a lot of people think they're eyesores and disorienting but I like 'em. Maybe I'll get one that don't spiral but curves. I'd like to build it myself and if it's an open floor plan, have a painting dropped from the top if the steps are linear. Like the old man and his guitar from Picasso's blue period or something. I don't know, I just want a place that's completely over the top but comfortable and home-y at the same time.
December 1, 200816 yr And short of a firehouse pole, it's the most footprint-efficient way to travel between floors.
December 1, 200816 yr And short of a firehouse pole, it's the most footprint-efficient way to travel between floors. That reminds me! I want one of those too! It'll double as a stripper pole for the housewarming party.

How in the world do you ask 6.5 million dollars when your coop is stuck in the 70's?? Only in NYC. ::) ::) ::) Oooh, I pay extra when a house is period correct (and well maintained) all the way up to 1985. In fact, the house I'm renting now was last remodeled in about 1982. Only appliances have been replaced, and they are black or white and fit OK with the decor (blast, no woodgrain or harvest gold fridge). I love it!

What about the Avocado Green color, that and Orange were all the rage in the late 70s/early 80's LMAO!!! Yeah, a lot of people think they're eyesores and disorienting but I like 'em. David, this is a picture I dug up of my apartment in Brooklyn. That staircase drove me crazy along with the fact that its an open floor plan unit and I could not decorate the way I want. The staircase is a big elephant in the room and you can hear everything especially heavy rain against the door. The only people I know who liked those stairs were my nephews, who ran up the stairs and down the stairs AND up the stairs and down the stairs.
December 2, 200816 yr I look forward to my next apartment. I've slowly been upgrading each time, and surprisingly the rent has gone down each time. I hope to be in Chicago this summer and I'm looking for something in the range I'm already paying ~ $800-1000/month. After doing some apartment searches, it appears that doesn't get me an upgrade from what I have already :-( That is unless I live in Rogers Park or something.
December 2, 200816 yr I only spent a few days in Rogers park just over a year ago, and I thought there were some areas that were very pleasant, especially from Sheridan going toward the lake, along Jarvis and in that area. Great old courtyard buildings in nice shape, convenient CTA service that should soon be a lot better than what I experienced, once they finish the trackwork. It is pretty far from the Loop. When I was there, staying in a Super 8 on Sheridan, my only gripe was the long, slow ride downtown on the Red Line, or the fast, rough, almost-nausea-inducing one on the bus. Those CTA articulated buses ride like farm trucks, and when they go fast on bad streets they're hell on wheels.
December 2, 200816 yr Rogers park is awful. And that's why I might move there. I find the worst parts of Chicago the best. I don't mind the Howard CTA station but the Jarvis station is in bad shape and smells terrible 100% of the time. I'm exaggerating a bit. Rogers park is okay. Good building stock but it still has it's issues with drugs, gangs, and other various problems. Not that I really care.
December 2, 200816 yr yes because you know that's sooooooooo me!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Damnit urbanohio. Do you realize I have the easiest assignment to due do and I need to get it turned int tomorrow? Actually it was due 2 months ago. But it's all I have to do and this forum is ruining my plans.
December 2, 200816 yr ... the Jarvis station is in bad shape and smells terrible 100% of the time ... Can't argue with that. Jarvis station is foul.
December 3, 200816 yr Oh god, I think I am starting to like country (and variants) music!!! Please, someone help me!!!

December 3, 200816 yr yes because you know that's sooooooooo me!!!!!!!!!!!!!! lol It's too bad Evanston has the worst kind of yuppies. Best housing stock in Greater Chicago imo. Lots of cheap food and various other stuff to do around there.
December 3, 200816 yr Is this HillBilly night on UO? :wtf: Has this place been renamed UrbanOhio - South?

December 3, 200816 yr Oh god, I think I am starting to like country (and variants) music!!! Please, someone help me!!! WTF??? He's from Kentucky. I wish I was in town when he moved to Cincinnati - we could have thrown him a "welcome to civilization" party.

December 3, 200816 yr I have some advice for you, Seicer. Every time you hear country music, or have the urge to listen to it, quickly change the station, or whatever you are listening to, to something that you really like and the urges will go away. By then you'll be so used to switching to things you like and you won't even really think about it. I do it all the time.
December 3, 200816 yr Oh god, I think I am starting to like country (and variants) music!!! Please, someone help me!!! Move to the Youngstown/Warren/Sharon area and you'll probably find yourself wanting to learn to Polka. :-D
December 3, 200816 yr MTS, this must be a Muzak button. Are you suggesting he listen to Muzak instead? Seriously, buildings renovated in the 70's have these buttons near light switches (they look like elevator controls) that actually turn on Muzak on that floor. I thought Muzak was just a provider for that music, I never would have thought they installed system controls throughout office buildings. I was surprised and also disturbed when I pushed the button.

December 3, 200816 yr http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cummingtonite Cummingtonite or magnesium iron silicate hydroxide is a metamorphic amphibole with the chemical composition (Mg,Fe)7Si8O22(OH)2. Monoclinic cummingtonite is compositionally similar and polymorphic with orthorhombic anthophyllite, which is a much more common form of magnesium-rich amphibole, the latter being metastable. Cummingtonite shares few compositional similarities with alkali amphiboles such as arfvedsonite, glaucophane-riebeckite. There is little solubility between these minerals due to different crystal habit and inability of substitution between alkali elements and ferro-magnesian elements within the amphibole structure.

December 3, 200816 yr Dave, Don't make me cuss both you, Kstay (you'll do something later) and Andy out! OK! Unappreciative lil heifers! You're too good to shop at Crocker Park but you live in a 1920s strip mall with a CVS and Subway lol! That's all I'm saying.

December 3, 200816 yr I realize I'm late and that I missed the Rogers park discussion. But I lived there almost six years -- it was in the 80s, but I still go back to some of my old haunts, such as Cunneen's on Devon. It's always been spotty -- the character can change block by block. But in general much of he Loyola area was nice, and the area between Sheridan and the lake, north of campus.
December 3, 200816 yr I like it because it's always easy for me to find parking on Sheridan (at Birchwood). There's and old folks home by there, and they don't drive.
