Fresca in general.

They have fresca at my local giant eagle.  But it's made with corn syrup like every other pop.

Fresca has its own website:

I prefer Squirt or Cotton Club 50:50 myself!

Yeah I read the site.  but I havent seen it in any store in Cleveland or NYC.  Fresca with Ice cream and lemon. yummy.

Student sues over missing Xbox

By Kimball Perry • [email protected] • March 11, 2009

A Madeira man who is a student at Yale University claims in a lawsuit that US Airways stole a video game console from his luggage during a flight, and he wants $1 million in compensation.

Jesse Maiman, 21, filed the suit Monday in Hamilton County Common Pleas Court.

Shouldn't this be handled in small claims court???? Should be the retail value of the missing Xbox and ancillary stuff, along with court costs. What a spoiled snot nosed kid...I can say that without knowing anything else about him!

First off, why put something of value in check in luggage?  :wtf:  :wtf:

I know this kid might not be a seasoned traveler but common sense should tell you that is a "no-no".

With the limited amount of stuff you are allowed to carry on, sometimes it's unavoidable to put something of value in a carry on.  I would think an Xbox is a pretty big item, would probably take up all of your single, allowable carry on.  Depending on how long the flight is, that could suck.  I hate flying and bringing little extras with me like snacks, magazines, acupressure bracelets, my own drink etc is one of the few things that make it tolerable.

If you're in coach you're allowed one bag, that xbox would be with me.  expensive, important items and medicine should always be brought on with you.

Yeah, but we have "street smarts."  Mr. valedictorian and many others do not.

true that.  I guess "common sense" and "street smarts" aren't as valued as they once were.

I fly a lot and it amazes me what people attempt and are successfully bring on board a plane.

I would ship it.  UPS ground is probably cheaper and safer than paying for a checked bag, anyways, and usually only takes a day or two.  I hate flying so much though, I drive around the country when I have to move every 3 months for co-op jobs.  If I had to fly I have decided I will box up most of my things and ship them to where I'm moving the day before I fly there.

I can't wait!!! Now all we need is Coke to come out with the same thing. Also found the following web site where one can find all kinds of unique soda:

Pepsi Throwback

Enjoy Pepsi as it was meant to be made — with sugar — with Pepsi Throwback. Featuring an old-school Pepsi logo instead of the modern smiling circle that adorns current cans, the drink will be sweetened with sugar, instead of the ultra-nasty High Fructose Corn Syrup, giving you that true cola taste without the need to import. For those with more extreme tastes, Mountain Dew Throwback will also be available, retro logo intact.

I'm so excited that they will finally sell us the exact same better-tasting and much healthier sugar-sweetened cola that they sell to everyone in the world except us. I'm pretty sure that the U.S. is one of the few places in the world where they are allowed by law to feed us that corn syrup garbage.

Corn subsidies are probably my #1 pet peeve with regard to the American food system.  Although factory "farming" is a very close second.

the cost of HFCS continues to rise as more and more corn goes towards ethanol.  Hopefully it will rise enough to be competitive with cane or beet sugar.

I see in the early 80's ADM lobbied a great deal to get the draconian sugar quotas we have now signed into law (under Reagan), that is when HFCS became cheaper that sugar (well, when sugar became more expensive than HCFS)

Coke does have a similar product, but only during passover, or somewhere where you can get Mexican coke.  Both are made with sugar, not corn syrup.

There's passover Coke? Why was I not made aware of this? Hot [email protected] sweetened soda and matzo! Rotten teeth and constipation here I come!

I would like Fresca to come back.  I love me some Fresca.

Does anyone have advice/experience with buying a projector for the purpose of watching movies at home?

I've done my research online & I think learned that I want XGA not SVGA, and DLP not LCD, but perhaps someone could recommend a brand/model that they've used or other experiences?  Thanks!

Clowns?  They look like two queens!

I'm glad you said that so I didn't have to.

Well there is a gay mafia.  I don't think any MessyKans are in it, but these two "profile" as members.  LOL

I know.  I also love the disabled tree!

Funny stuff!  Did anyone else notice the person in the stretcher still has a cocktail in hand.

After flipping through these, I'm guessing most were staged for one reason or another.  What's fun is trying to figure out why.

More crazy stuff "in the news"  lol

...and i just had to see for myself, so here it is....behold, the steampunk star wars deathstar

"“This enormous Imperial space station, the size of a small moon or asteroid, is in fact an immense analytic engine, a device capable of making millions of calculations every day. Inside is kilometer after kilometer of tubes and wheels, cranks and gears, all spinning and clacking, spitting out an endless series of numbers for the Imperials scientists to decipher.”

There is nothing quite like waking up to screaming drunk people at 9:00 AM.

Happy St. Patricks day from lakewood's west end.

Time Warner is so stupid. There used to be TWC at this house and instead of burying the cable last time, they had it hanging on the back yard fence, and going to another person's yard across from our back yard. The Cable guy came over and went into the other guy's yard via the area in between the fences and the guy living there came out with a gun in a holster (he's a police officer) and started talking to him explaining that he doesn't appreciate having someone's cable line going through his yard above ground. He said he called TWC about it and they didn't do anything to fix the problem. This neighborhood is so hood. Mowing the Easement/Public ROW area in between the privacy fences between properties is based on the honor system (no one does it) and some people have above grade power lines going diagonally through their back yards. Then you have cable lines hanging on people's fences because cable companies are too lazy to come out and put them below ground.

God bless the suburbs.

and to think we missed you!  What were we thinking??

This might not be TWC problem/issue solely.  Where are the other utilities?  Call TWC, local PUCO and city councilman to have this corrected.

The cable guy said TWC should have burried it.

The cable guy said TWC should have burried it.

Then did you call or don't care.  He might not report it.  Was he a TWC employee or outsourced?

While we are complaining about TWC.....Called today to find out how to exchange my box since we've entered the 21 century and got our first HDTV.  After many different number pressings and language choices, and misdirected forwards, someone asked my zip code and told me my local office could exchange the box.  I of course asked if I needed to call to see if they had it, and of course I was told no, they would have plenty.  Of course, one can't call the local office directly.

Well, you guessed it.  Went home early disconnected everything so I could take it to the office before they closed, they don't have any.  They will "mail" one tomorrow from some distant location!!!

I don't know how to tell if he was outsourced our not. He didn't have a van saying Time Warner on it.

What customer should have to call Public Utilities to bury their cable line? That's just stupid and customers wouldn't be having that. There's a very wide easement right next to the house. I doubt there's any excuse for it. I'm almost positive it's against regulations as well.

If I complain to Public Utilities do you think Time Warner would hook me up with a few free months? THEN I will definitely make that call

Time Warner was ranked low in customer satisfaction. You shouldn't be surprised about the box thing. Wow is supposed to be a good alternative but a Wow cable guy I know said he could get Wow for free but still gets TWC because he thinks its better.

Their service trucks are outsourced, for the most part.

I'm leaching off of the cafe five floors below me, and have successfully done so for quite some time. I had canceled basic cable (television) a few days prior because I simply didn't watch it. Here is why:

I ask that my cable be connected to my new apartment at the Emery #515, because I moved from #614. They state that they will be at my place the next Monday morning at the earliest. Fine, I was doing fine leaching.

They call at 8:50 AM while I was at work, stating they would be at my house in 15 minutes. I leave from work at Xavier and drive to my apartment, but no one showed by 9:15. I call Time Warner, and they send a Tech Page, and state that the tech will call in a few minutes. He never did. I call back at 9:30, and received the same runaround. They send another Tech Page, but no one bothered to call again.

By this time, I was furious. I had taken time off from work to meet a non-existent repairman, only to be rerouted all around Time Warner's shitty customer service. They state that since it was an "all day appointment," that he could show up at any time. Bullshit. Not on my time and on my money. I call Retention and threaten to disconnect my service and for Time Warner to stop remiting bills to my address, since they could not hold up their end of the bargain. The retention lady stated that she was doing everything she could, and offered to lop off the installation charges.

Fine. She sent a Tech Page.

By 11, no one showed so I went to work. While I was at lunch, at 12:50, I get a call from the service repairman who stated he was at my lobby entryway and didn't know where I was at. I started screaming, stating that they had to give me a 15 minute notice at the minimum -- I had made this explicitly clear. I drive home only to find no one there.

I called Time Warner and requested disconnection. They were doing everything at this point to keep my account active. The repairman finally called back 10 minutes later and said he would be at my apartment in "a quick minute." 30 minutes passed before he arrived, and I let him know how furious I was. My landlord could hear me spitting mad a floor above!

He goes into the communication closet, unscrews the old cable, takes out a new cable, splices it to the same length, and screws it in. Then he turns on the cable service. Anyone could have done that. He wanted to check my cable in my apartment to make sure that it was to their specifications, and I told him that he better get the fuck out of my apartment for wasting my day.

I then get a bill two days later for ~$55, for basic cable and internet (the former which I had canceled). The next day, I get a bill for that, and ~$76 in installation charges -- $24 for internet, and $42 for cable, and some $9.95 generic charge. I call customer service who would only cut off $20 for poor service, but never apologized. I told her to send me to retention, who said that the other retention lady that I spoke to had cut off my installation charges without authorization.

I told them that if my account wasn't refunded those installation charges, that I'd personally go down there, find their supervisor, and give them a piece of my mind. I haven't gotten another bill from them, but I am still on their service (checked last night for shits).

This is all going on in Cinci???  :?

Also, why can't TW have cool commercials like the new Comcast Commercial with the kids and people in the city??? Sheesh, TW sucks. ;)
