July 30, 200915 yr ^Let that be a lesson to you, MTS. :) LMAO!! I have big closets and I'm a neat freak. Although I must admit when I was cleaning the closet to build a new one, I was organizing things to keep and donate and a wall of sweaters fell on me. I never realized how heavy sweaters can be.
July 30, 200915 yr LOL, Death By Sweaters. I just cleaned out my closet and am taking some bags of stuff to goodwill, and some shoes. I'm in such a bad place post-partum in terms of clothes. All my pre-preg tops fit but none of the pants do; I weigh what I did before I got PG but the weight has shifted/distributed differently and now I have no pants that fit. I really hate to buy new clothes but I never find any pants at the goodwill, only tops, so I may have to break down and buy at least a few pairs, I go back in 2 more weeks.

You get to shop out of need!
July 30, 200915 yr I hate shopping most of the time, honestly. I hate spending the money and I refuse to pay full price so I'm always relegated to whatever is on the sale rack, which usually isn't anything I like or want.

July 30, 200915 yr What's this search feature you speak of? Is that just a perk (no pun intended) of the rare Premium Member, or can just any commoner use it? To be honest, the search feature here is terrible; it's really the main reason I'm not a Premium Member.
July 30, 200915 yr Hey, I would rather just be a supporting member. That way I don't have to post with those elitest spinning red stars.
July 30, 200915 yr Soon the government will be mandating red stars for everyone! Taxes will be raised to cover those without Red Star insurance!
July 30, 200915 yr ohhh... and just so people don't think that places like Cleveland and other cities in Ohio are the only places that have (and still are) bastardizing beautiful pre war building and giving them "sleek and new" facades that make me want to puke... I give you 3 Columbus Circle in New York. Seriously I'd like to have everyone responsible for this stuff imprisoned.

They did the same thing to the verizon building on 42 street, althought it wasn't pre war. Everything in NYC is being covered in Glass.

A related question though, how does everybody feel about concrete sided buildings. There are a couple here in Akron where I work that I have to stare at everyday that I think are hideous.
August 2, 200915 yr Quick question for all the Clevelanders - Isn't there some sort of second hand store on the west side that sells "home type" stuff i.e. crown molding, leaded glass windows, etc. that have been salvaged from other homes? I feel like I read about the place once but I have no idea how to find out. Thanks.

I feel like I read about the place once but I have no idea how to find out. Thanks. There used to be a place called the Wrecking Ball. I think it was on Lorain; I'm not sure if it's still around. I bought some doors there for a very reasonable price, but that was 20 years ago. It was an old house just crammed full of stuff - huge inventory of doors of all types, and lots of hardware, with a back yard full of salvaged bathtubs, lavatories, and toilets. There was another place with lots of stuff in the old bank building across from the West Side Market then, but it's no longer there. Everything was overpriced and the guy who ran it was an unpleasant b!tch.

(I'm guessing maybe not, since they make finished products, but just in case...) August 2, 200915 yr No that's not it, although that is very cool. The place I am thinking of is more things salvaged from homes like doors, windows, etc.

August 5, 200915 yr Man v. Food marathon on the travel channel yesterday. My new favorite show! Anyone been to Thurmans Cafe in Columbus and had the Thurmanator? I lived around the corner from Thurmans for about a year. So yeah I have had a Thurmanator. There is something wrong when you get a 3/4? 1? lb burger with a 1/2 lb of ham on top of it along with with everything else. It was the size of a volleyball. I usually went for the bacon cheeseburger though, that was hard enough to finish let alone the Thurmanator. Thurmans is a great place, great memorabilia in the old part of the part of the bar. Definately worth a visit if you are in C-bus. I am not sure if it is still open or owned by the same people but the German Village Coffee Shop next door to Thurmans had the best bacon when I lived there in 2002. Thick cut and cooked on the grill with an old fashioned bacon press...Bacon bliss!
August 5, 200915 yr Ugh.. so I get on the 6 train this morning at my stop (77th St) and we're stuck in the station because of a sick passenger at 59th St.. so 20 minutes later we start moving, get to 68th St and the conductor comes on the PA and says we now have a sick passenger on OUR train. Ugh..

August 5, 200915 yr 6 train was a mess this morning. They stopped all traffic because of a stalled train at City Hall, so I walked the last 11 blocks from Grand Central. This was after 10 minutes of them telling us train traffic was "running at slower speeds," and me telling myself I could just walk there in 10 minutes, but feeling the train would movethe second I got up the stairs.. really makes me miss driving in traffic.

I dont ever take the 4/5/6. That line is toooooo congested and one "boo boo" and the entire line melts down. If I have a meeting on the Eastside, I take the MetroNorth to Grand Central instead of taking the 4/5/6. I've actually taken the bus downtown and arrived at my destination quicker than folks who take the 4/5/6.
August 6, 200915 yr i here i was under the impression that greed is good... Cameron Douglas's Meth Drama Continues Michael Douglas has undoubtedly reprised his Falling Down role by now; his son Cameron has been busted for being a big time crystal meth dealer, moving "pounds" of the drug since 2006, according to TMZ. The site reports that he faces 10 years to life in prison, and "According to his federal complaint filed in New York, DEA agents claim they ran a 3-year investigation, proving the 30-year-old actor sold 'multiple pounds' of crystal meth to several people—many of whom are now cooperating in the prosecution of Douglas." He's been charged with one count of possession with intent to distribute 500 grams or more of crystal meth, and also one count with intent to distribute 50 grams or more of "ice"—which for the non-drug savy is the purest form of meth. When he was busted in NYC, he was accepting $15,000 in cash in exchange for a promise to deliver a half pound of crystal meth, which the buyer referred to as "bath salts." Douglas told him, "I thought you would like them my friend ... I was so excited for you to take a bath and see for yourself."

Seriously, its probably because Google thinks your IP address is in the Netherlands. The adds on UO are from Google. Most likely it'll get fixed on its own before long.

August 7, 200915 yr Why are all you guys behind so many proxies? What are you trying to hide? I sometimes use a program called Tor that allows for safe browsing, the only downside is that my internet is proxied through god-knows-where and I have seen the Google homepage in dozens of different languages. I know how to say "search" in over 30 languages.

Other forumers are better qualified to describe them. I'm not about to tell stories or name names.
August 9, 200915 yr Well, there was that one semi-urban ohio/ssp meet in Cincinnati. I have photos well it has to come with a story.
