June 2, 201015 yr CBC here a good one for you - if you have 30M laying around. The view is the best thing about this apartment and I'll be surprised if they get that. A person spends all this money to buy in this building and your home had no soul or character, just a view. Not to mention the decor is early New Jersey tacky! The only plus about this apartment, is that the commute is an elevator ride. What exactly is "early New Jersey tacky"? Is it Italian-esque style decorating? Thank god that was one thing I didn't inherit from my Italian roots.

June 2, 201015 yr Hey, that swimsuit lured two two dudes into my net this past weekend! Nothing like a tease swimsuit when you appear out of the ocean and walk up on the beach - James Bond style! Now we know what all the Pina Coladas were about... Oh Al.........it's the national drink of Puerto Rico. You can't go anywhere without having a PC. And I only had one or two at that time. Trust me I was quite sober as I only went out on the beach to check on the kids. They were building sand castles and the man making "questionable" Jesus sand creations got a little to close so I went out to make sure they were OK. When I got out the water the person who I wanted to notice did. Mission accomplished! mmmmmmm reminds me of the time i had to exit thru an open hallway window in bronx apratment... You're a hot mess! Homewrecker!
June 2, 201015 yr Well, I just put in my notice at work. Off to the next adventure! jealous...Selling women's footwear is not the same as it used to be.

June 2, 201015 yr Well, I just put in my notice at work. Off to the next adventure! On a wednesday? Id have security escort you out now! LOL Thor, if you can share, what is the next adventure? Ha! No, I did it yesterday, actually. I accepted the position on Friday, but my boss was on vacation. Couldn't do it until today. Trust me, I wish they would have them escort me out. The idea of having to sit here twiddling my thumbs for the next two weeks is infuriating. I won't get too specific, but I'm moving to another financial institution that wants to expand into NEO. They've hired me to create the market / assemble the team, etc. It's a big step up in responsibility. Looking forward to it.

Remember, "delegation" and a "cranky bitchy assisant" are great inventions! LOL
June 2, 201015 yr Yes, someday I hope to have Cat-in-the-Hat-esque minions like you. Well when they are good I call them "meri" and "pip". When they really piss me off, I just call them both "Emily". Keep in mind both of my assistants are men. >:D
June 3, 201015 yr At the risk of being permanantly banned from this board, I am happy to announce that I have taken a Senior Engineering job in (ba ba ba bum) the oil pipeline industry. The job will be based in Houston, but I plan on being there as little as possible. For now, I am holding on to my house in NOLA, and considering some possiblities for what to do with it (lease it out?, bring in a roommate?, vacation rental?) This is all part of the grand plan to make enough money to open my bar in Chicago....some day.
June 3, 201015 yr Toledo, Ohio police officer saves newborn fawn and nurses it back to health after its mother is hit by a car. He is awarded and honored for his service. Oops, just kidding. The Ohio Division of Wildlife wants to euthanize the deer and throw him in jail. Cop who saved fawn faces jail, fines Ohio Division of Wildlife wants fawn Thursday By Allison Brown, FOX Toledo, June 2, 2010 TOLEDO, Ohio (WUPW) - Toledo police Sgt. Mark Fry, who resuscitated a newborn fawn back to life after its mother got hit by a car might be facing jail time and possible fines. His wife might also face fines and jail time. They are accused of keeping the fawn at an undisclosed location while it is being nursed back to health. The Frys said they won't turn the wildlife animal over the Ohio Division of Wildlife because they are afraid the deer will be euthanized.

I know you dreams have been put on hold for a while, but glad to see things are now starting to turn around for you! Renting? Are you really sure you want to do that. If you're living elsewhere and have renters, it could be a problem as you aren't there to inspect the property. I think it's risky.
June 3, 201015 yr ^I am really not sure. The plan now is to do nothing. I will have extra relocation money for the next few months, so it will cover a cheap place in Houston. I actually had a pretty good engineering job in Houston, working for a military contractor. But, I was hired in to bring in automation and to think of new ideas to reduce costs. But, since it is a military contractor, I suspect I was only hired in so they could say they hired someone to bring in automation and reduce costs. Military contracts are structured as cost plus. Whatever it costs us to build plus a percentage profit. So, I have had a job where I really didn't have to do anything, and only worked 4 10 hour days a week. I wish I could just relax and enjoy it. But, I really need the challenge. I have been assisting in a very very very very limited way solutions for the BP pipeline mess. It lead to a job offer from a company I worked for right out of college. I am looking forward to the job, not looking forward to living in Houston. I am going to try to commute back to NOLA as many weekends as possible.
June 3, 201015 yr Congratulations! (Don't worry, some of us invest in said oil companies and futures too :) )

June 3, 201015 yr Man, it shouldn't make me as sad as it does for each of them to pass on. But it does make me sad. That still remains one of my all time favorites on TV.

June 3, 201015 yr I read on Perez Hilton that after Rue's last stroke Betty White gave her a card that said "I hope you die, so I can be the last Golden Girl" (it was a joke obviously) Per Perez, it was Rue's favorite card. Poor thing

June 4, 201015 yr I was told this apartment had a Central Park View. That red box is Central Park. ::)
June 4, 201015 yr At least they didn't say scenic view of the park. Go back to the first one you posted. that terrace was killer.
June 4, 201015 yr At least they didn't say scenic view of the park. Go back to the first one you posted. that terrace was killer. But I like this apartment better. Its a classic prewar building with all the details. I feels like crib at Moreland Courts. I knew this would be hard.
June 4, 201015 yr You need somebody to make decisions for you. I haven't made a decision since I got married in 2003....It takes the pressure out of life and gives you somebody to blame... (Kidding, I let her make the decisions on the stuff I don't care about or I usually reserve the right to an excutive veto if her choice is either A) dumb or B) too expensive. Usually the veto comes out when it's A and B.)

June 4, 201015 yr Saw a dead deer on the side of the road this morning on Carnegie! should have taken a pic and put it in Rob's Roadkill thread! Why was there a deer on Carnegie?
June 4, 201015 yr Rats with hooves I tell you (and fluffy little white tails)... they are everywhere.
June 4, 201015 yr Why was there a deer on Carnegie? Why are there people in Solon? Zing! LOL. Good point. Maybe that was the advance scout for what will be an invasion of like minded, urban oriented deer looking to reclaim their long lost habitat. Probably just had a hankering for Hot Sauce Williams.

(Kidding, I let her make the decisions on the stuff I don't care about or I usually reserve the right to an excutive veto if her choice is either A) dumb or B) too expensive. Usually the veto comes out when it's A and B.) Nope im the King of my Castle! If I like it, I like it. If I don't I hate it. I really dont want to move, as I dont want to carry to mortgages nor do I want to live through construction. I'm just looking for a good bargain. Also, I dont want to pay a maintanence fee, but I'm a sucker for white glove services. It's not a bad view, though. There's plenty of light. that's the view from the terrace, there is a setback. I want to be able to see Central Park. I dont want to be on the far westside, because I cant bear to look at New Jersey and I dont want to be on far eastside, because I find the Queens view depressing. Why was there a deer on Carnegie? Why are there people in Solon? LMAO!
June 4, 201015 yr My friend texted me last night that a deer ran right by him on Clinton in O/C last night. Invasion of the urban deer?
