September 17, 201014 yr My dream apartment bid came to end :'( Those people are never going to sell that place. Apparently they dont realize their apartment was over priced to begin with and aren't in line with other units in the area. Oh well.
September 17, 201014 yr Man I hate doing laundry. I wish clothes would magically clean themselves. I bought one of those mammoth detergent bottles with the tap, not thinking that I live in a highrise and need to get it to the laundry room 14 floors down. I've given up on it, and donated it for all my building to use. It'll probably be used up in 2 days. Look into laundry services at local laundermats. When I lived in Chitown I did the math, and it was actually cheaper for me to drop it off than to use the laundermat, not even counting the time I would spend there. Just be sure to leave a tip for the person doing it!

But in NY, just going down to the basement is a PIA! Damn I wish my nephew was still here, he did the laundry all summer. I haven't done laundry all month long, as a result, there are six hampers of laundry to do now. :|

Is it too late to retrieve your "donation." (Indian giver! ha ha) http://www.mainstreetpainesville.org/
September 17, 201014 yr Time isn't so much the issue since I take it down to the basement and then come back 45-60 mins later when it's finished, but I've considered a laundry service. The one in my area picks up your clothes while you are at work, and when you return they are all done. Still a bit more than what I pay doing it myself. I've also found laundry is alot less painful if I iron my shirts and pants right before I leave for work. I cannot imagine spending two hours ironing every week.
September 19, 201014 yr So I just got pepper sprayed today. Was doing a brewery tour and the whole group was down inside the historic beer caves. Some "accidentally" set off a whole canister of pepper spray. It had the crowd coughing and gagging and rubbing their eyes. The brewery tour guides were taken by surprise not knowing what it was so they evacuated everyone out of the tunnels immediately. Apparently security caught wind of conversation and apprehended the individual who set it off. The brewery was incredibly apologetic and we got free stuff even though it clearly wasn't their fault and they handled the situation well. I find it hard to believe this person set it off by accident. I didn't think you could do that. It had to be some sort of stupid joke that ended up being a disaster.

And totally random. "What did you do today?" "Oh, just went on a tour of a brewery and got pepper sprayed..."
September 19, 201014 yr About thirty years ago I was sitting at the bar in Tula's, then Fort Wayne's most popular gay bar, now a parking lot. Some rough-looking drunk guy, obviously out of place, sat down next to me and after he got his drink, tried to start some sh!t with the very large drag queen who ran the place. Without a moment's hesitation Tula pulled out the pepper spray and blasted him good. I caught a generous amount of overspray, and several of us had to go outside for a while. I got a free drink out of it, but I think that may have been the last time I went in there.
September 19, 201014 yr People who can't handle their alcohol have no business drinking at all, imo. On two separate occasions I've had to pick my brother Shawn up from a bar and went in there while he was in an altercation with somebody. One time I went to go get him and he was punching on somebody right outside just as I pulled up. I had to run over there and do damage control with the other guy and the bouncer and make his drunk @ss get into the car. So what did he do? He yanked the car seat out of the back that I used earlier for my nephew and threw it all the way down the parking lot, almost hitting a car. I told him that's the last time I'm picking him up or bailing him out of trouble. Nothing like getting caught up in family bs drama  I'm really surprised that he's never been tased or pepper sprayed.

In my twenties I had a buddy who had a perpetual thirst and who was about 5'5", maybe 100 pounds. Three beers and he was ready to take on the first linebacker he saw. Fortunately the big guys always regarded him like they would a puppy barking at their ankles; sometimes they even laughed, which got him worked up even more. On one occasion my cousin and I were trying to take him home and he kept hopping out of the car at stoplights and trying to pick fights with the drivers of other cars. Finally we locked him in the trunk of my '50 Chevy to keep him contained.

September 20, 201014 yr I think I'm losing my mind. Earlier today, I was in a meeting, and I could have sworn the lady sitting next to me smelled like a habanero pepper. My mouth was watering. I wanted to bite her. After the meeting I asked her what perfume she was wearing? She replied she wasn't wearing a scent. I then descretly asked two other people if they smelled chili or a sauce. One said "no" the other said, I smell something but we're not near a banquet facility. I thought to myself...I'm going nuts. :| It was like a warped TrueBlood experience.
September 20, 201014 yr You want some habanero peppers? I have about 3 or 4 dozen that I have no idea what to do with them? They are too hot for me.

September 21, 201014 yr I guess he was a radio DJ until recently in Akron...he may be suspended from his new job soon...just wondering if there was any back story on him.
September 23, 201014 yr I can't believe it's already the end of September, WTF? I look forward to 5-6 months of cold Chicago weather ahead...bah. The worst feeling is stepping out of my office at 5:00 and it's already dark. I also need a television series that's been running to keep me entertained during Jan-Feb. Watched all of The Wire last year. I also tried taking some winter pics last year, all of which none ended up on my flickr, so photography is a no-go, unless I focus on depressing stuff and photograph abandoned buildings maybe. I'm considering rolling over vacation time to next year and taking two weeks off and going to Cali or something. Don't know what it is, but Chicago's winters always seem more harsh than Michigan's.

I always take night shots on bearable nights in the winter. The sky is usually clear and everything has that crisp look to it. Or I'll wait for those really clear days, bundle up, and take some landscape shots. But I totally feel the sentiment about winter approaching... :-(
September 23, 201014 yr I've just returned from visiting another ugly ass house! I have a headache. It was like the wall were closing in on me. I need a dramamine.
September 23, 201014 yr I went to a an open house like that when I lived in LA, except the walls were all fabric like that, with gold threads weaved in. The floor was all wooden mats. It was bizarre.

I do love some tapestries and fabric wall paper but this was too much. When I go into a property, I try to look past at the current owners decor and really get into the bones of the apartment. This place gave me an Excedrin headache!
September 26, 201014 yr Yesterday at an event, I was insulted and touched by a tea bagger. I promptly came home, burned my clothes and showered three times.
September 26, 201014 yr ^that's actually a cool-looking button, but I don't believe for a second you would be at an "event" where someone would wear a shirt like that and with pens sticking out of the pocket! http://www.mainstreetpainesville.org/

September 29, 201014 yr FML. I didn't take Nyquil last night cause I have an early morning dermatologist appt that I had to wait like 4 months for. I wake up at 3 all stuffy and can't fall back asleep. Then at 3:45 I realize the power has gone out. Try calling the CPP outage line, but it's continuously busy. I almost fall back asleep when I hear one of the cats puking. I go clean that up. Then I'm almost back asleep again when the security system company calls to tell us the power is out (gee thanks). Now it's time to get up and hey, look, the power just came back on. I am gonna need so much caffeine today.....
September 29, 201014 yr ... And the dermatologist will tell you to cut back on the caffeine and get more sleep :|
September 29, 201014 yr ... And the dermatologist will tell you to cut back on the caffeine and get more sleep :| Well, thankfully she didn't. She told me just to feel better since I looked like hell, lol. After the power went back on, I got in the shower. Well, of course it went off while I was in the shower in our windowless bathroom. Luckily I'd brought the flashlight in with me..... It then went back on about 6:45 and went off about 7:15 while the mister was in the shower. It was still off when he left - he had to exit the garage the old fashioned way and lock it...... The news is saying it's back on downtown, so let's hope that's the case! I so don't want to have to empty my fridge and freezer. Anyone else lose power?
September 29, 201014 yr ... And the dermatologist will tell you to cut back on the caffeine and get more sleep :| Yeah, stimulants are terrible for skin since they're a vasoconstrictor and impede blood flow to the skin. I used to use epinephrine inhalers and tons of coffee to study, trying to self-medicate my ADD. I noticed my skin would get all clammy and pale. People said I looked sick. But when I used that stuff while lifting weights it worked well because it forces more blood into the muscle tissue where your body knows its needed and makes its way in to the skin. I try to make sure I exercise when I drink coffee or energy drinks.
September 29, 201014 yr Sounds like an eventful morning Doc Broc. I hope the rest of your day gets better! Take some Day-quil and zone out...
September 29, 201014 yr Sounds like an eventful morning Doc Broc. I hope the rest of your day gets better! Take some Day-quil and zone out... Bah! Dayquil is like what I imagine taking meth feels like. The one time I took it I was simultaneously exhausted and so wired that I was twitching all day.
September 29, 201014 yr Sounds like an eventful morning Doc Broc. I hope the rest of your day gets better! Take some Day-quil and zone out... Took some day-quil, but I gotta do work! By the way, I was floored at the number of people who blew threw the out traffic lights on Chester this morning. I saw, I don't even know how many almost accidents. Really people, really?

Dayquil is like what I imagine taking meth feels like. The one time I took it I was simultaneously exhausted and so wired that I was twitching all day. You think pseudophed = meth?! You must have a sensitive brain. You would probably run down the street naked if you ever just took an Adderall or Dexedrine. As for Nyquil, I don't understand why some people like it for colds. It gives me a terrible hangover, along with any other Over-the-counter hypnotic craziness. I'd rather just sleep through it and use some of my hypnosis cds.
September 29, 201014 yr How much are you drinking to get a hangover? :) Dayquil always makes me feel like I awake but I am not actually there... I was strictly a coffee guy for studying but do remember taking the old school Hydroxycut with ephedrine. I never could take for a long period of time because I felt I was going to crawl out of my skin. Especially if I got out of schedule or missed a night of sleep.
September 29, 201014 yr You think pseudophed = meth?! You must have a sensitive brain. You would probably run down the street naked if you ever just took an Adderall or Dexedrine. I've been a few different ADD drugs. They all either made me euphoric for a few hours, or made me feel like I'm operating my body remotely, kind of like what CBC described above. None of them helped me with concentration. All of them effed up my heart rhythm as well.
September 29, 201014 yr Nyquil doesn't give me a hangover, per se, but it takes way more than 4-6 hours to wear off. I'm usually a zombie until about noon the next day, so I can't take it all the time. Dayquil doesn't do anything to me, besides what it's supposed to do.
September 29, 201014 yr I took nyquil for the first time this past summer. Tasted like sh!t but it was worth it. Probably the best sleep I had in over a year, and I wasn't all groggy the next day. Definitely worked out for me.
September 29, 201014 yr I have always found Advil cold and Sinus does the trick for me if I am sick. I very rarely take any type of medication whatsoever, so maybe it has a better effect on me if I have a cold.

Definitely worked out for me. It's all about the liqui-caps, dude. You'd have to force the liquid kind down my throat. I do enjoy the fact that they now sell vitamin C-fortified dayquil, though!
September 29, 201014 yr Yeah, everyone told me about the liqui-caps after the fact. My sinuses were soo stuffed up that I couldn't taste, but I could still taste that nasty stuff haha.
