U-verse will do that. Did you spring for the movie channels or are you riding out the free months that you got when you signed up? I have no idea what is on my DVR right now, my kids think that it's a good idea to record every kids show that they watch so the stuff that I want to watch usually gets bumped before I get a chance to watch it. Sadly now movies are something I watch when I have to fold the laundry....

Honestly I get my weather from either the weather channel app on my ipod or the TVs in the foodcourt of my building when I am getting coffee.

You do realize with Uverse you can set it up to only keep a couple episodes of shows like that right?

And by the way, there's nothing wrong with finding cookies stashed under the end table. Those are just crunchy cookies. Finding an apple core stashed under the couch from weeks ago... that's something to be annoyed at.

Yeeeahhh, those are at lease solid. My youngest decided that under the couch cushion was where she was going to store her jello.

Yuck...

@Keith. Yeah  I realize it but I am still not one with my U-verse DVR. so I haven't taken the time to set it up The tramatic seperation from my long term relationship with my Dish Network DVR has left me with DVR commitment issues. I do like that the U-verse compensates for reaction time when fastforwarding or rewinding.

I hate all this ice. Yiu cant walk anywhere without slipping on it.

That brings back memories of my nephew and neice putting their PB&J sandwich in the VCR to "toast" or "microwave" it.

Go to an outdoor-sports store or a work-apparel store and get some crampons. They're sort of like rubber overshoes that stretch over your regular shoes, and in the soles they have studs like the ones in studded snow tires. They really work.

I almost busted by ass about 20 times yesterday and sunday night at work. Our car lot turned into a huge skating rink due to all of the snowmelt freezing sunday night. I can't imagine what it'll be like tomorrow morning.

I wouldn't be surprised if the airport has a lawsuit on their hands from one of us, or our customers, slipping and falling on the ice while walking to a rental car.  They did nothing about the ice yesterday or sunday night and it's their responsibility to clean it up, not ours.

I've lost my mind.  I cannot believe thing No. 1 and I have spent the last 40 min. sitting here "talking" to a baby on the monitor.

My yard and walk is becoming an ice rink. I salted twice already and it hasn't really made a difference.

Somehow my bowling league isn't cancelled...the roads must be better than what I see.

Well, this storm is definitely believable in Chicago now.  Let me tell you downtown by the lake it's absolutely violent.  I attempted to walk home because at first it wasn't bad.  When I reached Water Tower Place, I discovered what a horrible decision I had made.  People were falling over and sitting in doorways.  They simply couldn't make it home because the wind shears and piercing freezing rain was so intense.  The streets here are empty.  Nobody is driving, and every single store and restaurant is closed.  Definitely the worst snowstorm so far I've experienced in my lifetime.

Snapped this photo of my window that failed under the wind.  Pushed it in, and as I took the photo a lightning strike outside  :-o

There's some interesting photos in the Chicago Tribune of people who have abandoned their bus and walking down what looks like Lakeshore Drive, which is currently off limits to the public until later notice.

I think I can still make it to work this morning though we are getting a freebie vacation day, which I can save for another time.  I shall use it to visit Ohio this weekend!!

(in cleveland)

You call that an ice storm?!?!  Bunch of hype if you ask me.

Agreed. I'll still take it. I got a day of working from home no questions asked...It was nice M&M storm, with a thin crunchy candy ice shell over everything, but not worth the hype...

Here (Fort Wayne) the storm didn't meet expectations, especially after all the media hyperbole. For a little while last night it looked as though it might exceed them, with winds literally roaring past my house and snow that was near whiteout, but it petered out after a little while. I estimate that this morning there were around 6-8 inches with a very think ice crust on top. Then about daylight we started getting nice powder with little wind. That came to only an inch or two.

I spent a little more than three hours digging out sidewalks and my driveway, which isn't much use since the cross street hasn't been plowed and the only exit from my block is blocked by a car belonging to a dimwit neighbor who tried to drive out. The worst part was the sidewalk along the arterial in front of my house. The city plows go so fast there that they throw slush more than 20 feet from the street, and the salt-slush mixed with the snow on the sidewalk to partly melt it before it mostly refroze into a dense, wet, heavy accumulation that I had to chop through with a steel shovel. I didn't realize how much my shoulders and back hurt until I came back inside and started shedding layers. Fortunately I keep an emergency supply of magical elixir for just such occasions, and now I feel pretty good.

Now we're at 26F with light overcast, and enough sun has peeked through from time to time to melt a little bit of the residual snow off the cement. Barring more snow, I should have clean, dry walks by tomorrow afternoon. I bask unchallenged in the glow of my title as neighborhood sidewalk nazi.

If I told you it would spoil the magic, now wouldn't it, dearie?

So now we know Rob's house is where "the magic" happens!  LOL

Question:  I need a way to collect money on the internet in an anonymous manner.  Does anyone have any suggestions?

You could set up a Paypal account with a specially created email for that account.

Embezzlement eh.... :police: Lol

I also don't want it linked to my bank account or anything like that.  I'm not too familiar with pay pal at ALL.  And no, it's not for embezellment!

I would say that Paypal is the way to go, set up with a seperate e-mail address. The payer on the otherside of paypal will never see anything but the e-mail adress. I am not 100% about this part but IIRC the money actually will sit in a paypal account until you move it into your bank account.  They'll take 3% or something but it's better than putting your personal information (like address) out on the internet.

Thank you so much!  I'll have to do that right away!  I can always count on UO to help me out!

Thats what I use for payments to my personal porn site.

Thats what I use for payments to my perrsonal porn site.

I wouldn't call a bunch of pics of you standing naked in front of a mirror a 'porn site', per se.

AJ -- Its just a little uncomfortable knowing you were looking at my old Geocities page.

LOL!

At the mall today, they were playing this video in the food court.  Listened to it quite a bit back in grad school, but had never seen the video.  Got me all hyped about Cincinnati this weekend.

Yeah thats a cool video. I`m surprised you`ve never seen it. The only thing I`m looking forward to when I go to Cincinnati tomorrow is the architecture.

Wow, awesome video.

Do any of you look at Craigslist ever?  If so, what's the best thing and weirdest thing you've ever seen on there?

LOL There`s piles of malt liquor cans against the toilets in the Justice Center right now Maybe they can hire a janitor after I pay my fine. D@mnit I`d much rather be at the Freedom Center on the other side of Downtown instead of The Justice Center right now. This place is depressing.

Emmie I sold something on Craigslist for 800 - a really fair price (I got over 30 responses) and someone offered me a trade for a Cybershot Camera and 50 bucks. What the hell am I going to do with a Cybershot camera? Its email response so people dont have a problem offering anything. You get a lot of weird trade offers. One guy responded to my ad from Podunk, Montana

I thought craigslist was strictly for hookers and serial killers?

CL is awesome!  I'm addicted to it actually.  It's kind of sad.  My favorite are the MfM personals.  Those guys just PUT IT OUT THERE!  No messing around.  Cracks me up.

I thought craigslist was strictly for hookers and serial killers?

Speaking from experience?

Man I know I`m in Cincy now! The inside of Skyline feels wet and smells like condensation. People are ordering 3ways "extra juicy". Observations: I like what they did with 580. You know that wasn`t done last time I was here. I like it`s pourosity on the street level. Red Squirrel closed! That saddens me a little. That was The Sheeit for lunch. Roxy`s, is that a new gay restaurant? It`s looking a little fabulous...

Hamburger Mary's closed, reopened, later lost their franchise, changed name to Roxy's... I think that's the long story (over several years) short.

Chalk up another "amenity"!!!

I think the term 'amenity' is quickly rising in the UO lexicon to 'world class signage' status

I don't need Craigslist. I'm old school. I let my pimp book all my business for me. He also does all my serial killing. Totally worth the 15% off the top.

"That reminds me of one of Seth Rogen`s jokes in Funny People. "Who would win in a fight? Tom from Myspace or Craig from Craigslist? Tom has more friends... Craig has weirder friends though. Craig has friends willing to do a lot more for cash.".

Craigslist hands down..

I saw the craziest thing in the store today-I should have taken a picture. This dude looked like Gene Wilder with longer hair and he had like the checkered bell bottoms, tight leather vest with the fringe stuff and I look down and he`s wearing these ridiculous platform shoes my stepbrother would kill for (he`s weird; he`s all into disco). Like all crazy people, he comes up to ME and he`s like " Did you find anything GROOVY!?" I picked up the shirt I was looking at and said, check it out man, far out and solid!  He smiled, nodded his head and started BeBopping while he was walking LOL! Columbus is one big freakshow. Ha! I love it for that.

Ugh, I just talked to my wife. My neighbor's beautiful century Lakewood house caught fire this morning. Fire was contained so I don't think there is structural damamge but tons of smoke and water damage from the sound of it. So frickin' sad. On the upside they caught it early and nobody, including their dog was hurt.

I just realized that on youtube.com (but, not embedded videos) when a video is loading and that little loading circle is swirling, you can use the arrow keys and turn it into the game snake. YAAY!

^ thats not working

And has anybody else noticed that there seems to a large amount of new people on here recently?

I think criminal court judges are now allowed to sentence low level offenders to post on here as 'community service' .
