January 9, 20205 yr Area code 937 is running out of phone numbers, so the new area code 326 will be introduced later this year. Unlike the 513/937 split that occurred in 1996, this new area code will overlay the existing 937 territory. Area code 513 is not expected to run out of numbers until about 2024, at which time it will be overlaid by the new area code 283.

It seems like they could just make the 326 area code cover both 937 and 513 regions and just start using it in the 513 area once it runs out of numbers in 2024. That way you don't have four area codes in the area, only 3.

January 9, 20205 yr Yeah, the map that Verizon included with this announcement is outdated, as 614 has been overlaid with 380 since 2016.
January 11, 20205 yr I remember once wondering why in an interview he had the Cleveland skyline in the background then heard him saying Ohio being his adopted home state a few days ago talking about a Trump rally in Toledo. I found Erica Michelle Levy is his wife From Shaker Heights. Don't know anything about her but that she is much younger than him. Edited January 11, 20205 yr by Mildtraumatic

January 18, 20205 yr Do any zoning people out there know anything about the legality of renting out basement spaces for commercial purposes? Does it require two points of egress if it's a straight-ahead walkout? Specifically, I am interested in carving up the basement of this place into band rehearsal spaces.
January 19, 20205 yr The building code requires a second exit when either the occupant load is over 49 people or the travel distance to get out exceeds 75'. the occupant load is approximately figured at one person per 100 SF. Changing the use of the space or adding partitions would require a permit and a drawing by an architect/engineer.

So maybe the front 10~ feet would have to be blocked off, especially if they put the compass needle right on the door itself, which I assume that they do.
January 21, 20205 yr Why are young people suddenly calling everything they like "the GOAT"? The term has been on Urban Dictionary for nearly 20 years but in the past few months I have heard/seen people using it constantly.
January 21, 20205 yr ^Cause NOW the term is REALLY GOAT! ? [I don't know--happy to say, I haven't heard it!]

Young black folks have been saying that for a lot longer. "You don't just walk into a bar and mix it up by calling a girl fat" - buildingcincinnati speaking about new forumers

I have seen tons of young white hipsters using it all of a sudden. And Jeopardy! just used it for their "Greatest of All Time" tournament so I guess it has now lost any remaining cool factor.

January 24, 20205 yr I got out of work early so my daughter took the bus from VCA to her old school in Sagamore Hills, and I picked her up there. I got there early enough for the pickup line to be in full effect. You SUV haters would have been horrified. ?

January 28, 20205 yr Came across this roap map generating website today via Jalopnik. Figured there would be some interest on this forum. https://anvaka.github.io/city-roads You can do more than just cities if your viewing device is powerful enough. I've been able to do the whole state and several counties. You can even download vector files of what you map.

February 8, 20205 yr I stumbled across the Rolling Stones' 2020 US tour details and there's something very strange about the list. Here it is: May 8: San Diego, SDCCU Stadium May 12: Vancouver, BC, BC Place May 16: Minneapolis, U.S. Bank Stadium May 20: Nashville, Nissan Stadium May 24: Austin, Circuit of The Americas May 29: Dallas, Cotton Bowl Stadium June 6: Buffalo, New Era Field June 10: Detroit, Ford Field June 14: Louisville, Cardinal Stadium June 19: Cleveland, FirstEnergy Stadium June 23: Pittsburgh, Heinz Field June 27: St. Louis, The Dome at America’s Center July 1: Charlotte, Bank of America Stadium July 5: Tampa, Raymond James Stadium July 9: Atlanta, Mercedes-Benz Stadium (https://www.usatoday.com/story/entertainment/music/2020/02/06/rolling-stones-2020-no-filter-tour-dates/4676860002/) Only two cities western cities San Diego and Vancouver (plus texas)---no LA, SF, Denver--and then no Toronto, NYC, Washington, Philly, Miami, Boston. Anyone know why this is?
February 8, 20205 yr ^thanks.....so this is the 2nd tier cities tour, I see....CLE, Buffalo, Pittsburgh, Atlanta..... Looking at the 2019 lIst, https://www.rollingstone.com/music/music-news/rolling-stones-rescheduled-dates-no-filter-tour-836010/, two nights in Jersey, but no NYC. Is that typical of big rock bands to not play in New York? Die hard fans will of course travel, but many others wouldn't leave NY for NJ unless they really had to.
February 8, 20205 yr It's the opposite of the "Donut Tour". Donut Tours hit the coasts, maybe Chicago or Detroit, Toronto or Montreal and somewhere in Texas. They're popular with bands that want to play the U.S. but maximize their earnings potential by avoiding cities that may or may not draw a lot of fans. The Stones, on the other hand, don't have to worry about people not showing up.

There are no football stadiums in NY proper. Also, this is sort of the second loop through the country on this tour, so I'm sure the promoter was directed to get the best deals possible in smaller markets and maximize their take.

True, but Yankee Stadium holds 54,000
February 12, 20205 yr 1 hour ago, E Rocc said: True, but Yankee Stadium holds 54,000 Not for a concert. It is closer to 30,000 since you are eliminating all the outfield seating. Football stadiums have greater capacity for concerts because the endzone is generally a shorter wall and there is no infield to worry about.
