First, what is this massive building at 4th and Russell?  It looks like a school...that leveled half of downtown.

 

Second, why does it say "All Male Strippers?"  I can't imagine there being an actual stripclub there. That's like two blocks from Mainstrasse.

colerain (cincy suberb) has a super ill skatepark now if anyone cares. way better den florence and middletown.  when i was growing up there was no skateparks anywhere near here.  ohio surf and skate was it up in dayton i think.  we used to drive to Louisville just to skate downtown cause cincy cops was all over us down at P&G's back lot.

Do community recreation centers in Columbus charge fees? Do you have to be a member to join? Or do you just walk in and play basketball, tennis, lift weights, etc? Anyone know?

30 degrees outside and i am going skateboarding as soon as i get out of the office.

It's a decent day for skateboarding. Could be a lot worse. Have fun outside while the weather is still bearable.

We took the baby to the park today and nobody else was there! It was sunny and in the low 40s at least and I couldn't believe nobody else took advantage of it.

In other news, I have to have my gallbladder removed next weds, so I will be offline for awhile. Possibly a long while, depending on whether or not they are successful with lapro, which is about 50-50 at this point. Or an even longer while if I don't survive, which of course is always a possible outcome. Can you tell I am sick of having surgery at this point?

Amazing again how children change you - my only thought about this is how it's going to affect my child - I can't pick him up for at least several days, how will I nurse him if I can't lie down on my R side, can't get up by myself, etc. And of course, how will it affect him if I don't survive. At least my will is updated.

And the Charlotte Airport.  It's a black man's dream!  Bogangles, Carolina Barbeque, AND a Popeye's!?!?!  WHOOOOOOOO YESSSSAH!!!  Even the white US Airways agents were like "yes lawd, get me a 2 piece!"  But they need to update that airport.  It takes damn near a half hour to go from one end to the other.  Sh!t, they better give me a blow job and a martini for running THAT marathon!  And that 1980's McDonald's they call an "airport" in Dallas is about as outdated as Nautica coats or the Excalibur in Las Vegas.

And those frontage roads in Texas.  Trash, utter trash.  Worn, random abandoned strip malls, Mexican flea markets, a Six Flags Mall, and Yoko Ono they didn't just put a Red Robin combined with a Valero gas station.  No no no!  Trashy Texas.  They have Megachurches that look like the US Bank/Q/Schottenstein Arena and those are off those frontage roads too!  And have you ever seen a bum ask for change outside of an IKEA before?  I'm gonna pray for him...to get him some $5 6-piece IKEA glass cups.  And they have a downtown Wal*Mart in Dallas...that actually...kinda...worked.  "Neighborhood" concept (smaller store).  Strange, but no complaints from me.

But I loves me some Fort Worths!  Good food, nice white people, nice zoo, decent neighborhoods, great infill, and best of all...the only good barbeque I found in Tejas.  And probably the most underrated rail station in the country.  I fvcks with Fort Worth!  Though not TCU or SMU or whatever Christian-related university they have down there.  SMU is surrounded by 1930's mansions, a 1920's Spanish-themed lifestyle center, and a decent TOD (Mockingbird LRT) that isn't too walkable to campus.  TCU is...well...let's just say they belong with half the schools in the Big East.

And that Grapevine Mills Mall?  Oy!  The NASCAR layout is appropriate for that trough to feed those cows and longhorns walking around that mall all day long.  They even had a temporary Justin Beiber store (which apparently used to be a Jonas Bros. store until they went on coke). 

 

I'm going to pray for that mall.

Actually, I'm going to pray for all of Tejas.  They need the Lord to get rid of those tacky-ass megachurches (at the very least use STONE people!  Not a half-domed Wal*Mart!).  And get rid of those horrendous, terrible service/frontage/access roads.  Those things are dangerous!  And lord knows they can't drive down there let alone use the roads correctly.  And no basements?  Even with those tornados?!?  And their Little Vietnam is a strip mall ironically on a road called "New York Avenue"...in Arlington.  Good food though.
