I've had trouble finding my posts sometimes on craig's but it's usually user error. I would just post a new ad.

@MTS - did you know 100% breastfed baby poop in cloth diapers has almost no smell? It was quite an eye opener for mr. RNR and I when we introduced solids to little RNR. His nearly odorless, watery poop went to insane levels. But still not as bad as disposable diaper poop. The chemicals in those, to keep the smell 'inside" make it particularly horrid to open up. Never mind the landfills....oh, but I digress.

The Godfather mansion on Staten Island is up for sale. $2.9 Mil. I wonder who will buy it?

You're right.  He did have on the disposable diaper.  During the day he wears the cloth.

Its 7 degrees, with a windchill that feels like 1.

Ran at 11:00, it was around 17 here in Akron so it wasn't too bad under all of my layers. It helps that where I run on the towpath is pretty protected from the wind.

Layers are the key MTS. You should probably leave your short-short vollyball shorts at home when running in winter..

Please, I had a hat, gloves, thermal running tights and shirt.  I have five routes I do and today I literally ran to Morningside Park, the wind hit me I then ran past Mr. & Mrs. Thing 2's crib and ran back home.

And Prada sunglasses even though it was still dark outside... :)

Yeah the wind is a killer when it's cold out. Even worse is wind plus waiting for the stupid cross walk signal to change when you are already sweaty. I used to be one of those that wouldn't run in the cold but I read a great article about embracing the challenges of the different kinds of weather, sometime last year. Now I am out running 4 or 5 times a week even in January.

No sunglasses, as NYC is famous for black ice, I dont want to be casualty.  The park is super dark at 5:45am I rarely have my iPod on!

Yeah, running in cold windy weather forces you to run more efficiently.

Umm...some quick help please? Craigslist is being a d!ck. I'm trying to post an ad on craigslist. I write out the ad, go through the whole process, blah-zee-blah, then to finalize the whole thing, it brings up this white screen that says nothing but:

"To finalize your post, type each of the following words into the box below and click continue."

Well guess what? There's no words for me to type in! All it has is a button to click "continue". At the bottom of the browser it says " One error in opening the page. Click Window > Activity" I do that and there's a little box that just says the name of the page and that there was one error. It doesn't say what the error was. It makes no sense. It's as if a data packet didn't go through but I'm on a great connection, I've tried re-freshing the page over and over, I've adjusted SOME security settings and I've tried a different browser. Any ideas?

This is getting so old. I've been trying to push this thing through for 2 days now.

OMG... Get this. The problem was that the time on my computer wasn't set properly. Are you serious!? I found that out because I tried to update my browser and it said before I could do that, I had to set the clock right.

I bet robo-posters are usually set to the wrong time zone for the ad.

@David, they may be requiring you to use IE, have you tried IE? I *hate* IE but for some sites, it's the only thing it seems to be coded for.

No, I have a Macbook. I used Safari. I tried it a million times. The only thing that caused it to work was re-setting the time accurately!

So my new supervisor is a really good guy, unfortunately part of his job is watching over the 3d and graphics production department within my company and that's not really his background.  I've created this timeline to help explain how some of the work I do gets done.  I think it's helpful and I want to use the chart as a means to communicate with my colleagues at what point of the project we are in.  This will guarantee we are done on time, and there's no panic moments

Where is the actual time line itself?  Do you have a production schedule?

So I'm thinking of starting a blog where I post articles from the PD that have spelling or grammatical errors in them and calling the blog something along the lines of "The PDoesn't Have Editors."  What do you guys think?  I feel like several times a week I see grammatical and spelling errors and I think its pretty ridiculous that a NEWSPAPER allows this to happen so often.  I probably shouldn't complain about getting my news for free, but I think there is no excuse for a media outlet to have so many errors.

I think that's a great idea.

I was actually just thinking of starting a blog myself.  But it would be more about my adventures and mis-adventures in the world.  Anyone have any suggesetions on where to start?  Would anyone be interested in even reading this crap?

Not if you don't promote it, and I think promoting is a pain. I have 2 blogs but nobody reads them except select friends/family.

The timeline varies depending on scope of work and size of the building.  Really the only thing I can accurately predict is how long it will take to render.  But when we get into the project, we can at least say what zone we are in so we know when to stop designing and start setting up the render.

Hey guys, i just wanted to share a great independent online radio station from here in the Mahoning Valley.......http://rukusradio.ning.com/ Have any of you checked it out? I know a couple of the guys that have shows on there and if you like local and/or independent bands you might want to check it out, they have fans from all over the world. Hard to believe so many people from all over follow something out of Y-town. Also, if any of you are familiar w/ http://www.thekellysmusic.com/ then you might of already heard of rukus, check it out!

Flavor Flav vs. KFC: A Dispatch From Flav's Fried Chicken

Jan 27 2011, 1:37 PM ET

Co-founder of hip hop group Public Enemy and reality TV star Flavor Flav opened his new restaurant, Flav's Fried Chicken, in the unlikely location of Clinton, Iowa, at 4:00 PM on Monday. I made the trek from Iowa City to Clinton—where locals waited outside for hours in frosty weather—to see the restaurant, have some dinner, and find out how on earth this happened.

For 51-year-old Flav, it's always 4:30—at least, that was the time his huge clock pendant read throughout Monday night. Here's how my minutes went.

From time to time, Flav escapes to go "season the chicken."

Just because I love the ghetto bird doesn't mean I'm going to eat at EVERY establishment, ESPECIALLY Flavor Flav's.  I'm ghetto but I'm not THAT ghetto!

My house was burgled Wednesday! With the exception of my phone I've been time warped back to 1947. I've spent the last two days dealing with the insurance companies, my bank, the police, and credit reporting agencies. :(

I'd savor the Flava if I didn't have to go to Iowa to get it...

That SUCKS. When I was burgled, things were still so low-fi it didn't affect me like it would today.  Was anyone else around you hit? Where do you live?

Sorry to hear that.  I hope nobody was harmed.

Nobody was harmed, they did it while I was at work. My downstairs tennant came home at 1:30 and called my voicemail asking me if I was out in the garage workin on something. I had left for work at 9:30 or so; I guess the perp was casing the joint beforehand.

What surprises me is that the city of cleveland has only 1 fingerprint team, you would think that would be in the basic officer training. They probably are never going to make it out.

At least the criminals didn't get my social security card,  my W-2s, or anything besides my checks. I took care of the bank and opened all new accounts and put a fraud alert on my credit reports. I changed my passwords on everythinh online (including here). Anything I'm missing/forgetting?

What an inconvenience.  I hope you can replace everything that was taken.  Experiencing the frustration of having a bike stolen I can only imagine how much worse it would be to have your place broken into.

------------------------------

Last night, there was a close call on my floor.  I was getting to bed around 3:00 a.m when someone's smoke detector down the hall went off.  It was sounding for maybe 15-20 minutes.  I finally got up and went out into the hall.

A group of people had formed and there was smoke starting to come out from the louvers that are on the doors.  They said they had gotten building security to come upstairs, but he said it wasn't a big deal since initially there was no smoke.  The group was knocking on the door like wusses, so I pounded on her door as hard as I could with my fist.  Finally we hear someone scramble inside and unbolt the door.

Whole apartment filled with thick smoke.  I can't tell 100% what the cause was, but the smoke (the burning furniture kind) seemed to be heaviest over the couch, and she's a smoker.  I take it she lit her couch on fire, woke up to the smoke detector and was trying to resolve the situation without anyone knowing.

This girl is cute, but she's a freakin mess.  I've encountered her in the elevators and down in the laundry room and she seems to attract crisis and disaster to herself.  If that's what I see, and all I see of her, I can only imagine what her man goes through

I hope you have renters insurance

I do since I'm required to.  Tenants who don't have it face eviction.

make sure to buy a little extra.

I can't really.  Things are pretty much covered in $5000 increments.  Already everything is covered for more than it's worth.  My most valuable items are my external hard drives.  They are currently locked in a fireproof safe and also backed up at my office.  Everything else is fortunately replaceable.

Man am I ever glad I'm 13 stories up

A LAKESHORE FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM TUESDAY EVENING THROUGH WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON.

NORTHEAST WINDS WILL INCREASE TO 30 TO 40 MPH WITH GUSTS OF 50 TO 60 MPH POSSIBLE. THESE STRONG WINDS WILL LIKELY RESULT IN WAVES BUILDING TO 14 TO 18 FT... WITH OCCASIONAL WAVES UP TO 25 FT. WAVES OF THIS MAGNITUDE WOULD LIKELY RESULT IN SIGNIFICANT BEACH EROSION AND COASTAL FLOODING. PORTIONS OF LAKE SHORE DRIVE AND OTHER FLOOD PRONE AREAS NEAR THE LAKE WOULD LIKELY EXPERIENCE OVER WASH FROM HIGH WAVES.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A LAKESHORE FLOOD WATCH MEANS THAT CONDITIONS FAVORABLE FOR LAKESHORE FLOODING ARE EXPECTED TO DEVELOP. RESIDENTS ON OR NEAR THE SHORE SHOULD TAKE ACTION TO PROTECT PROPERTY... AND LISTEN FOR LATER STATEMENTS OR WARNINGS.

It should be noted that the lakefront trail is already badly damaged and currently closed.  Portals and ramps are already barricaded.  I can only imagine how this weeks storm will probably remove what's left.  Guess I won't be biking around there for awhile.

Well, we're getting pummeled with freezing rain and there's at least three more hours worth. Not the best timing for my boycott of COTA.

Apparently we're supposed to get hammered by this storm.  My college made the decision to close for tuesday around 11 tonight.  It must be bad because they usually wait until the last minute to do anything...

We've already got 3" of snow east of Cleveland. I'm thinking today might be a bad day for a bike ride.

Columbusite, why are you boycotting COTA?

Will there be photos of giant waves smashing up on the lakeshore and sending torrents of spray into the air and onto the surroundings? I the ice display in the aftermath should be impressive.

We started getting a diligent snowfall late yesterday, and when I went to bed it still was coming down pretty good. The wind was fairly calm, though, and this morning I'd guess there's a little over four inches of new accumulation around my house. It's clear right now, but I'm right on the northern fringe of the area predicted to get heavy ice accumulations. I'll dig out my sidewalks and driveway this morning to try to lessen the amount I have to handle later. I have candles, fresh batteries in my LED flashlights, and kerosene for my heaters and Aladdin lamps.

The ice storm in December 2008 resulted in more than $7,000 damage to my two properties. A falling limb shorted the electric service line to my rental property and shot 220 volts through the 110-volt circuits, blowing out the controls on a new furnace, setting fire to a new heat pump, blasting apart the insides of the meter box, destroying the kitchen range and microwave, and doing other electrical damage. The house was vacant then, and it's a wonder it didn't burn down. Luckily my homeowner's insurance paid for everything except the $1,000 deductible. The irony is that to save a few bucks on premiums, I had increased the deductible from $200 to $1,000 just a few days before the storm.

I didn't even realize it was going to snow...I left for work this morning and my driveway had 4-5 inches on it!

That's called the too many small children in your life bubble.

Blizzard of the century? Huh, I was looking for the missing Disney DVD...and why are there cookies stashed under the end table?

LOL. I am guilty of not staying on top of the local news lately. I honestly thought it was going to be 48 degrees and rainy today!

The kids don't help, but I'm probably more affected by the recent upgrade to U-verse. So...many....movies....

I have to watch at least 2 a night or my DVR will fill up

U-verse will do that. Did you spring for the movie channels or are you riding out the free months that you got when you signed up? I have no idea what is on my DVR right now, my kids think that it's a good idea to record every kids show that they watch so the stuff that I want to watch usually gets bumped before I get a chance to watch it. Sadly now movies are something I watch when I have to fold the laundry....

Honestly I get my weather from either the weather channel app on my ipod or the TVs in the foodcourt of my building when I am getting coffee.

You do realize with Uverse you can set it up to only keep a couple episodes of shows like that right?

And by the way, there's nothing wrong with finding cookies stashed under the end table. Those are just crunchy cookies. Finding an apple core stashed under the couch from weeks ago... that's something to be annoyed at.

Most of the stuff my kids would watch is already on the 'Free On Demand' section. My oldest knows how to use it, so we quit recording stuff for them (with the exception of Scooby doo...lord, how they love scooby doo)

They have this weather on demand feature with some guy that I can only presume is trying to make it as a stand up comedian. He'll start out screaming, or hiding off screen then jumping in front of the camera, etc. The kids love him.
