April 28, 200817 yr Any of you trance/house fans out there ever hear of Fonzerelli? If you haven't, check him out because I am hooked and this is the best house music I have heard for a long time. One of his tracks, "Moonlight Party" is on Tiesto's In Search of Sunrise-Los Angeles Mix, if anyone has any of those mixes and is interested.
April 28, 200817 yr More updates from C-Dawg's Facebook photo gallery: Everyone see these houses? I worked on them summer they put the additions on them with the stilts. Spent 3 weeks sanding and staining wood trim under the one on the left. All my toil so that Stewart Ave. can party rain or shine.

April 28, 200817 yr ^ No problem.:-) If you want to find a lot of good music like that, check out Beatport. It's like a much better iTunes for electronic music and it's really the only place where I get my music now.

April 29, 200817 yr How does this kid walk with his pants like that? That look is exactly what I was refering to in the racism thread. It looks ridiculous! Not to mention, as pale as he is, he shouldn't be wearing all white.
April 29, 200817 yr ^The guy in the green plaid jams isn't much better. And they really need to throw some duct tape over that chord. And pick up that cup. >Two words: Man Crush. None of us can admire him as much as he admires himself.

April 29, 200817 yr One of my friends always gives me a hard time for wearing flip-flops. I just tell him this is Florida and he's not in Kansas anymore.
April 29, 200817 yr That's something I've always noticed. Any time guys wear plaid shorts, they almost always wear flipflops. Sometimes they take it even further and wear a polo with the collar popped. They constantly look like they're on vacation.
April 29, 200817 yr One of my friends always gives me a hard time for wearing flip-flops. I just tell him this is Florida and he's not in Kansas anymore. Personally, I think flip flops are unsanitary and ugly! That's something I've always noticed. Any time guys wear plaid shorts, they almost always wear flipflops. Sometimes they take it even further and wear a polo with the collar popped. They constantly look like they're on vacation. Flip Flops to me fall under the "there is an appropriate time and place" rule. Enroute to and at the beach, yes. In the office, "no". Flip Flops should be banned from the face of the earth!
April 29, 200817 yr The really cool kids wear pajamas on campus, on their way to morning classes. You have to be joking! Thats as bad as people on international flights in PJs. Tacky! Tacky! Tacky!
April 29, 200817 yr Yeah; dining halls, grocery/convenience store, you name it. Flipflops and pajama pants. You know, the thin cotton ones with the little childish designs. Looks lame to me.

April 29, 200817 yr urgent assistance needed! I basically cut to the chase in the bolded question at the end. Anyway, Key Bank really $crewed us. In a nutshell we booked a trip overseas and in the process discovered out Key ATM mastercard was expiring at the end of the month-we were unable to make some reservations that did not take AMEX so this was the first problem. Anyhow we called Key and were assured the cards would arrive before we left.I found it odd they would cut it so close and they had no ideas about what to do about booking problems-nor did they really care. basically a "wow that sucks" type response. By Saturday, the cards had not arrived so we went in to our local branch who said they had been mailed 2 days before and certainly we would have them by later Saturday. Still not here. SO we called customer service and they had a bunch of ridiculous excuses and stories that changed-some even somehow suggesting blame on our part (seriously WTF?) to which I interupted, "this sounds like an internal problem that needs to be analyzed in- house (not to us on the phone), we have been in contact with you about this problem THREE WEEKS ago an we need to hear is how are you going to fix this, we leave in 2 days?" Guess what? They can't do a thing! So of course our checking and savings account will be closed upon our return since I know longer trust them with my money, but we need money access during the trip and we can't carry that kind of cash around. plus what if there is an emergency? Not everywhere takes AMEX. Do travelers checks even exist anymore and if so, how do you get them w/o a huge fee or membership ie AAA? Does anyone have a good bank? We are also fairly unimpressed with National City (mortgage...I could go on and on but that is another thread). thanks!
April 30, 200817 yr Calm down. Enhale.............................Now relax and slowly blow the air out you have options: Go to the closest American Express or Bank a) and get travelers cheques b) Get branded debit cards c) you have an American express which presume (based on what you wrote) is not expiring and you can use that card at your destination. Is this really a reason to cancel a card? You should think about your relationship over the long haul instead of just this one situation. When I was at SOHIO, I learned about how we created accounts and managed them. Once a credit card is in "renewal" phase, its hard to change. You should have had the card three to five weeks prior to the current card Credit card expiring. Key should have just been honest and said they cannot guarantee an exact date as to when your card would arrive.
April 30, 200817 yr wow- thank goodness I posted. Very cool about the branded card-I forgot they existed as I never used them. good for expected/budgeted expenses, and better than travels checks, but not good in case of an emergency where I would want to tap into more money (political imprisonment, kid napping, medical emergency, etc) if needed. I would not want to put too much money on a branded card b/c it could be drained by a thief. Amex cannot draw from an ATM and some train/transit ticket machine do not use it. I will see if their travel services can get me travelers checks but this is a last report! that means another step -finding a bank and cashing them frankly a PITA as I am in 6 countires in 9 days-not all take euros and changing money back and forth arrrrg. I need to be sipping wine on a piazza and not cursing Key Bank. As far as closing the account, Key Bank has not exactly been stellar and I am sick of bad customer service in general. In less they are consequated, they will continue to get away with poor service. If they had always done a great job before this, maybe things would be different. This is where I think capitalism is good thing-on to the competition. remember this was addressed by us three weeks ago and again Saturday. The fact they gave us three wildy different exuses did not help (one was "we upgraded your card in 2005, and sent you new ones...they were never activated, but had 2009 expiration dates" . No we never saw them or used them, but this was an exuse.) . And we all know how busy it is before you go on vacation at work. We are now having to drop everything -not easy ,or fair to our customers or colleagues, to deal with incompetence.
April 30, 200817 yr sweetheart. Would you relax already? sheeeeesh! You're only making yourself upset over something that isn't in your hands or Key (per se, although it should be transparent to the customer) since they probably do not make their credit cards. Travelers Cheques are just like cash. You go to the store, give them the check and they give you cash back if there is change. OK. Relax, damn!
April 30, 200817 yr I heard lots of places won't mess with travels checks anymore. But I will look into it. something I should not have to do if the bank did the job they were supposed to. They should not issue cards they do not have the skills or customer service to support. they had three contacts over three weeks to make this right. All totaled from the phone calls and in person wiating at the branch, and lord knows how much time tomorrow running around, waiting, etc will cost me about 6-8 hours. I guess my time is not valuable and I should give this poor little corporation a break.
April 30, 200817 yr Do you know what it takes to make a credit card? I going to say "no" and i wouldn't expect you too. But I will say, once the card is in the process of being produced, the "manufacturer" is in control, not the issuer (your bank). Three weeks is nothing when it comes to creating or renewing a credit card, so please get passed that. Key should have told you they couldn't guarantee a delivery date and not given you the run around. Now, lets put emotions aside. Why would think or where did you "hear" that places don't take travelers cheques? Just got to American express (http://www10.americanexpress.com/sif/cda/page/0%2C1641%2C23075%2C00.asp) and stop making this a bigger ordeal than it is. If you cannot get the card, you have other alternatives, correct? Now lets move on, so you can enjoy your vacation.
April 30, 200817 yr "Why would think or where did you "hear" that places don't take travelers cheques?" from people trying to use them overseas-from every recent travel book I have. No non U.S. business is taking US travels checks overseas except a bank-where you need to find one, wait, and hope you can catch them open. European banks may only be oopen a few hours a day for customers. I am going to be dealing with 4 different currencies, do I really don't want to be like grandma and go to the bank in each of these places? Come on, I cannot believe you are insinuating I am over reacting when KEY BANK is wasting countless hours of my current time and vacation time WHEN THEY HAD 3 WEEKS TO MAKE IT RIGHT. FYI, stores throughout Europe do not want to get any where near our stinking, sinking dollar and do not take US travelers checks or cash. A lot has happened in the world over the last several years. The whole USA rules! thing is dead. I never knew MTS you were such a denfender of the poor little guy, the massive corporation. :yap: I guess the the customer really IS always wrong.

Peabody, DID YOU LOOK AT THE LINK? You can get travelers check in VARIOUS CURRENCIES which is why I provided the AMEX link! Hello!!! :wtf: :wtf: Again, a travelers check is just like cash. You give it with currency and they bring you change, why do you need to go to a bank?? Please help me understand that? Even if you need to change the currency, AMEX locations are open all over the world, so yes, I think you're overreacting when I've given you VERY VIABLE and realistic options, to get you off on your holiday without worrying. It's not that I'm defending Key, I'm trying to get you to look at both sides of the picture regarding a renewal credit card. Three weeks is not enough time to get a new card replacement when the current card is being processed. Understand?

April 30, 200817 yr MTS-everything you suggest are time consuming things I the CUSTOMER need to do to rectify an idiotic situation I did not create and took the inititive to address weeks ago. Do you tell you customers where ever you work to fix your colossal F'ups? Key Bank does nothing, I waste my time running all over town (here and abroad) and they are rewarded with continued business? What are they doing? nothing, except maybe thanking their lucky stars people like you defend incompetence and question the customer for not wanting to spend hours correcting their nonsense and screwing around looking for banks in every country I go to (3 of which do not take even take euros, but a mastercard works great in any ATM, restaurant, or store) . AMEX is accepted at about 1/2 as many places as Visa/MAster. As it happens, I just got off the phone with amex travel-I will have to drive across town to get to an office- and was warned Italian vendors are prone to rejecting EURO travelers checks. yes EUROs. If you think I am kidding call the Lakewood Amex office and ask Ann yourself. As far as three weeks not being enough time to get a new card. PLEASE. Are you telling me if it was stolen it would take 3 weeks to replace. NO . it was not lost or stolen. IT WAS EXPIRING. WE told THEM which is pathetic to begin with. And yes I get I can get one of these cards that has a set amount-again more time- but I have no customer support if is stolen or fraudulently used by a merchant, no ability to add more money to it, like I would my ATM debit. What if there is an emergency? How would you feel if you did not have access to YOUR OWN MONEY? I would LOVE key bank to come tell their side LOL. that would be good. When they startled babbling the third different excuse, I told them to take it "in house" and learn something for the future. I don't care WHY you f'd up, tell me how to get my money. I am appreciative of your ideas, but even suggesting letting KEY BANK off the hook or that is no big deal to waste all this time changing checks and finding banks when I could be swiping a card is silly. :whip:
April 30, 200817 yr "And I'm about to hit the ignore button! HA!" And I can hit the "Delete User Account" button - so all y'all have a nice cup of STFU! :-D Oh, btw peabody, there's a reason you're having problems: clevelandskyscrapers.com Cleveland Skyscrapers on Instagram
April 30, 200817 yr So you think the grass will be greener at another bank? How do you know they are doing “nothing” it could be that process are in place and no matter what they do, they still cannot get a card to you, based on the situation you’ve given. Again, three weeks is not enough time to get a card when the original card is being processed. Why not just get branded debit cards in the interim as I suggested before? When I get wind of issues that go wrong with customers I send it thru the proper chain of command. Many times I’ve read issues here and reported them to the President/Operations person over that division who gets it to the local level. I just can’t go over to or call over to the office on Lakeside and rip someone a new one! Well, I could, but I don’t have authority over that group and it would put a strain on my business relationship with that Divisional president. So maybe there is a chain of command that this need to go thru. But again, the initial answer should not have been given which I’ve said before, correct? I'm not talking about a replacement card. I'm talking about you calling to have a card "expressed" when it's being processed for renewal. Totally different from a lost/stolen credit card reissue. I never defended the incompetence, I'm trying to help you understand the process since I had to learn the in's and outs of credit card processing when I worked at SOHIO and we processed our cards in the landmark building.

April 30, 200817 yr "So you think the grass will be greener at another bank?" Wouldn't take much. I had the "pleasure" of laying out a lot of brochures for them and just skimming the "fine print" was enough to convince me that I'd never want to bank with them. Then again, once they get so big, all banks are basically the same. clevelandskyscrapers.com Cleveland Skyscrapers on Instagram
April 30, 200817 yr time wasted at Key Bank getting "branded" card: 45 minutes. Not much better than cash, can be stolen and used. It has set limit-what cash I put on it. Hope I have no emergency or don't want to buy anything big. Look on manager's face when I responded to their attempt try and charge me a service fee (oh yes they did!) for ghetto style fake "credit card": PRICELESS The card should have been expressed three weeks ago, or a week ago when this was addressed again if is such a process. It it is for them to know how complicated this is and respond, not for me, the soon to be ex customer to speculate and guide them on how to do their jobs.

May 1, 200817 yr ok nice graphics  , but are good? They have some convenient locations for me. stories anyone?
May 1, 200817 yr I bank at 5/3. I've never had any problems with them. I had a mishap on one of my checking accounts and they refunded the overdraft fees, and then the same thing happened to another checking account (this time over $300 worth) after a quick phone call, all of that was refunded. It was my fault though, because I forgot to transfer money from one account to another. The main reason I chose 5/3 when I moved back to Cincy was because there are literally Genie Machines on every block it seems. I also have my balances emailed to me every morning and their economic future seems strong. The customer service hours are great and they've seemed to push for better customer service. You're going to get a lot of negative feedback from people on this forum, but that's because it's just brotherly love (friendly jealously ;) ) Some people will complain about the company, but they still bank with 5/3, ask yourself why?
May 1, 200817 yr For those of you who wish to add chest hair by reading a news article, read this. http://www.wired.com/science/discoveries/magazine/16-03/ff_seacowboys?currentPage=all Seriously manly. In all seriousness, it's a very good article about rescuing a capsized ship. Very good read.
May 1, 200817 yr about 5/3 bank: that is good news. I will explore this soon. I think the reason people complain but don't leave banks even though the service is poor is b/c it is a total PITA. I am sure they count on this. I was venting my story to a small business owner that unhappily uses Key but it is basically is as hard to separate from your bank as get a divorce. Think about it-- you have bills getting paid out of the account, direct deposit of paychecks and so on. Just to but an end to this we will have to have 2 accounts concurrently until we can phase out Key. We have spent far more hours of our time untangling their incompetence than it will take to open a new account. They are fine with routine things but anything out of the ordinary have a couple of examples that there is no need to go into, they screw up. They took l responsibility on all occasions -but who cares, hours of our time wasted. "Sorry" only goes so far. I am not a malcontent. We never had banking problems before Key (these were banks out of Ohio).
