April 1, 201015 yr The amount of times my kids went headfirst over the arm rest on the couch to the floor is uncountable. These things happen, so don't worry RnR.
April 1, 201015 yr Also off topic but on the same subject, I am dying of shock. My boy has slept completely through the night the last 2 times. First time this has happened since he was born. 10.5 months is a long time to go without more than 3 hours of uninterrupted sleep, so this is great. I finally feel like a human again, just like that. It's amazing what a little rest can do. I feel like I could scale a building!
April 1, 201015 yr congrats to newark, nj on their first murder-free month since 1966 -- and only 8 shootings -- yay newark! http://gothamist.com/2010/04/01/newark_has_murder-free_march_first.php
April 1, 201015 yr The amount of times my kids went headfirst over the arm rest on the couch to the floor is uncountable. These things happen, so don't worry RnR. I didn't even think that counted as an event, as it's practically a daily occurrence at my house. Also off topic but on the same subject, I am dying of shock. First time that happened with my firstborn I woke up at 6 am and freaked, thinking there must have been something wrong.
April 1, 201015 yr I woke up at 3am both last night and the night before freaking/worrying, of course. But 9:30-3am is a HUGE block of sleep for me. I have seriously not slept that much since he was born.
April 1, 201015 yr When my daughter was 3 months old we moved to a new apartment that had a lot of insulation in the interior walls. She either slept through the night every night once we moved there, or the walls were thick enough that we slept through her crying, we didn't know which and didn't really care that much to be honest. Falling off the couch doesn't count. Everyone's kid does that. In fact if a trip to the Emergency room isn't needed it shouldn't count. (We've made 1 trip to the emergency room with each of our kids so far.)
April 1, 201015 yr We've already been to the pediatric ER, but it was for reasons other than a fall or injury (blood in the stool from his milk allergy). I hope not to go back. Ever.
April 1, 201015 yr I just thought of another good one, when my oldest was 3 or so snuck into our bed in the middle of the night, fell out of our bed and hit his chin on the side board of the frame ,driving his lower teeth into the inside of his upper lip. Nothing like being jolted out of bed by a crying kid bleeding everywhere and not having any idea what is going on. We got it to stop so we didn't go to the ER to get stitches. He had a fat lip for weeks.
April 1, 201015 yr I've been battling an abnormally bad bout of insomnia this week, and today I got a memo that made an analogy to the Four Horsemen and so all day I've been having what I'll call vivid day dreams of the Apocalypse. This is my nephew after he crashed into a concrete wall at school last fall or after his first set of crowns or whatever popped off. My sister wasn't easy to be around that weekend, heh. He was being supervised 1 on 1 at the time, it was a nightmare of ridiculousness.
April 2, 201015 yr When my next-younger brother was four, he climbed up on a bench in the basement to try to reach something he knew he wasn't supposed to touch. The bench tipped over and he fell onto the cement floor and fractured his skull. He was in the hospital and developed an infection and was on penicillin for a while. He's now 68 years old, and all his life he's had quirky behavior and social-adjustment issues. Maybe it's a result of his head injury, but others in our family have had mental-health problems, so I wouldn't know. I do know that he's accident-prone, obsessively controlling, rigid and uncompromising, difficult to live and work with, and is twice-divorced and working on a third one. Maybe the behavior that got his skull fractured was just an early manifestation of what he would become.
April 2, 201015 yr That sounds like his personality not the head injury, but what do I know. Rob, your family reunions and holidays must be a rip roaring good time the way you describe your siblings.
April 2, 201015 yr So UO has another uncle!!! I'm an uncle. Wow. Congrats. Rule No. 1 Spoil the kid and do the exact opposite of what his parents say you can and cannot do, with exception to medical conditions.
April 2, 201015 yr Glad to have you back, of course I'll change my mind after you've made a few posts!! I wont be here long. I need to continue my reign of torture. I'll probably be back to my happy-go-lucky self by May 1. Right now I'm in evil-evil, nasty, conniving, eliminate the enemy mode.
April 2, 201015 yr There are a few people on my list, I'll send you their names! Sure. I'll send them to jail, where I sent ex skank-in-laws brother. They can play "house"!
April 2, 201015 yr Easter Alert!! If the Easter Bunny leaves a pile of chocolate jelly beans in your yard, DO NOT let your kids eat them!!
April 2, 201015 yr Easter Alert!! If the Easter Bunny leaves a pile of chocolate jelly beans in your yard, DO NOT let your kids eat them!! That b@stard left some under my grill last night!! On a lighter note, we're coming up on one of the most festive holidays in the Jewish calendar...the day after Easter. This is a glorious day when we run out to the drug store and buy all the leftover Easter candy at 50% off. L'Chaim!

April 2, 201015 yr OK kids. I've been away awhile as I need to take some time away from UO for personal reasons. I'm as healthy as can be. Your PM's were very nice and I appreciate the concern, it's really touching. Jesus H Christ MTS, where have you BEEN? I've had to take care of some "business". I would to take the time to personally thank 327 for igniting this reign of destruction i've been on for the past three months. I'm a very nice guy who like to keep a low profile, but there are some things you just dont do [*]You don't mess with my family, my mother especially! [*]You don't mess with my money So in order to properly punish the people that attempted to encroach upon item's No. 1 & 2 I had to take some time away from UO to "educate" them. I had to go to a very evil dark place - a place that you kids [in particular you kids under 40 and those who have never watched an 80's night-time soap] cannot begin to imagine - and that behavior has no place here. As my hilarious grand father said to me a few weeks ago, "Skippy, I always knew you had a mean streak in you. You know you got that from you Mommas family, those Puerto Ricans are crazy. I never imagined you could be such a downright evil and heartless person. As a man you have every right to want to protect your family, but damn! The things you've done over the past few months, makes the character Ben on LOST look like a cub scout. And to think, people say I'm a mean old man!" I've said once...and I don't expect to say it again.... I should be back to my normal self soon. I just need to detox.

So that's why all the holiday candy lasts so much longer in a westside Cleveland Target than the one in University Heights!

Wait, never mind. I don't wanna know. Regardless, good to see you back. And your timing is perfect since I'm signing off for a while to handle some business of my own. But I'll be back, when the day is new And I'll have more ideas for you And you'll have things you'll want to talk about I... will... too!

April 2, 201015 yr Easter Alert!! If the Easter Bunny leaves a pile of chocolate jelly beans in your yard, DO NOT let your kids eat them!! Of course. Doesn't everyone know that the Easter bunny leaves them in your yard so you can share them with the kids of the neighbors that didn't shovel their damn sidewalks all winter?

But I'll be back, when the day is new And I'll have more ideas for you And you'll have things you'll want to talk about I... will... too! A comment you made, got me an UO "time out". That pissed me off. Then some jackass tried to embarrass me in a meeting. I was livid, I complete switched from English to Spanish. Then my skank-in-laws brother put his hands on my mother. All I saw was red. I left work in the middle of the day and all I could think of on the flight home is how to murder him and cut up his body in teeny tiny pieces. So when I showed up at his door and made a few choice "promises" he acted like a straight b*tch. The one good thing about the situation. The Garden Valley PJs are safer after MTS had to show is his @ss up in there. You dont put your hands on anyone mother!
April 2, 201015 yr MTS!?! Life was not the same without you. Welcome back to the real world, the UO world, and Shaker Circle. I'm glad you settled things with your skank-in-laws brother because that's been brewing for a while. (Just remember, if you need a getaway car use a rental. The trunks are always easier to clean ;) )
April 2, 201015 yr Its good to have MTS back, I was confused when all threads had the last post by someone other than MTS. For a while I thought that was just how they all ended. :-D :-D I kid you crazy posting fool

The skank-in-laws brother got of easy. I'm just glad that his babys momma was able to get a dna sample, take him to court for child support and the boys in the hood know exactly what type of punk b*tch he is. I'm evil....... However, he got off easy compared to her meddling sister and parents. Nobody is safe from my wrath! Oh, and don't think I was going to let that "circle" jab slide, mister! April 2, 201015 yr Good to have you back MTS. I was really starting to wonder where you went. I almost missed the torment. :-P In all seriousness though, I hope everything is ok. I feel bad that people sent you messages and I didn't. :| Oh, and thanks for the uncle advice. It's going to be a little hard to do that since my sister lives in Oregon. But I'll try!! haha

LOL You'll always come out the winner. >:D
April 2, 201015 yr Wow, MTS, I thought you were dead! I think MTS is a stinging insect. They only stir when the temperature is warm. "In the souls of the people the grapes of wrath are filling and growing heavy, growing heavy for the vintage." -- John Steinbeck

April 5, 201015 yr I'm sure this is "On Topic" somewhere, but I wasn't sure where to put it. So... I was looking at this map of the Findlay Market Opening Day Parade and noticed that there isn't any sort of line between Over-the-Rhine and CBD. I found this to be incredibly refreshing and made me think of the basin in a new way. I hope we can see a couple more publications like this.
April 6, 201015 yr So AJ how did you make out on the Easter candy? Actually, never bought any. Took the kids to the IX Indoor amusement park on Sunday (which apparently, is another Jewish tradition, since that was predominantly who was there ;-) ) and loaded them up with corn dogs, cotton candy, and other amusement park crap. I figured that was enough junk for all of us.
April 6, 201015 yr How was that? I haven't been there since when it first opened when I was in highschool. I seem to rememeber it having as sweaty sock/feet smell like Chuck E. Cheese does. It could just be a false memory, who knows. If you need a Easter candy fix, let me know because we have way too much. Edit: I probably should make a east side/west side joke because that is prime material but that would require too much effort.
April 6, 201015 yr Let's just say I was glad I went on an off day. I couldn't handle that place at full capacity. Your memory of the place is still pretty accurate. My kids are still little, so they just did the kiddie rides and the petting zoo, and the aforementioned carny food. Don't go unless you bring your Purell Full Immersion pod.
April 6, 201015 yr Completely random, but can anybody reccomend a good place to get a wool rug cleaned in the Cleveland area?
April 6, 201015 yr No idea, basically the dog decided she liked the rug in my sons room to pee on. We have broke her of the habit (hopefully) but it needs a good cleaning to get the rest of the smell out. My wife was suppose to arrange it but,.... So I decided to take matters into my own hands.
April 6, 201015 yr Mods, will you be changing this posting stat title anytime soon - 367'-PNC Bank? It used to be National City Tower. Maybe I'm being a bit ridiculous here but for how much we talk about supporting local and Ohio run businesses on this site and elsewhere, PNC is not an Ohio company.
April 7, 201015 yr So, I posted this on the other forum, but I'm hoping some former Chicagoan may have some information. I planning to get back into skateboarding again. I haven't since the beginning of college. I own a longboard and want to go from my apartment building to work. Both places are right at Michigan Avenue which is probably the worst place in the entire city to bike or skateboard on the sidewalk. In general, skateboarding on city streets is illegal, and must be done on city sidewalks yielding ROW to pedestrians. Bicycling on streets is always permitted, but not on sidewalks in business districts. The bicycle on sidewalks ordinance is not enforced unless you are being a douchebag and plowing people over. It IS enforced on Sheridan road because of all the old folks. I've gotten a bit more daring riding my bike on Michigan Ave sidewalks and passed by cops walking the beat and they've never said anything. I also see skateboarders downtown from time to time, and they only seem to get hassled when they linger in plazas. Otherwise I've rarely seen a boarder asked to dismount in a business district. But the laws are so ambiguous. Apparently there are certain zones in downtown where you can't skateboard, and I think that may ruin my plans for taking my longboard to work. Rush street may qualify as a route because it is service/utility oriented from Delaware to the river as opposed to State or Michigan which are commercial oriented. It's all so confusing. Basically I think the cops don't care. There are people at my office that have skateboarded to work for years without problems. But I don't want to get stuck with a fine or something by a cop who is having a bad day.

April 7, 201015 yr You said all that but didn't ask a question.
