In late May/early June I ventured westward from Wisconsin with a couple of friends.  Much of the trip was not about cities, but here are a few shots of the urban destinations.  We really just breezed through a lot of places, so there's not much of any one place.

Denver - First stop.  The bulk of our day here was spent drinking, not taking photos.  But here's the view from my friend's stepbrother's condo.

Salt Lake City - Looked at the temple and capitol and then left.

Portland - A couple of days later.  We just spent a morning here, but I must say the downtown was surprisingly not lively for a place that's supposed to be so cool.  I'll chalk it up to not knowing the cool spots and it being Memorial Day, I guess.

Seattle - Although we did spend a bit more time here, I didn't take that many pictures.  Well, whatever.  I like this place, though.

Vancouver - Had no idea what the hell to do here, so we wandered a bit in a few places.

And that'll do.  Lots of other pictures, but they're all the non-city stuff.  Perhaps another time...

Nice!

Great pictures of some cities that I would really like to visit!

Wow very nice.

Spectacular scenery! You do some excellent night photography.

Nice clean photos of beautiful cities.  Seattle has to be one of the most attractive cities anywhere....deep blue harbor, snow capped mountains, great architecture, good street life, lively market.  Guess it's time for a pilgrimage!

Denver is also suprisingly nice.  The downtown has come a long way in the past few years.

Thanks for the tour.

I love the Pacific NW. The Seattle-Vancouver-Portland trifecta is just amazing.  And yeah, if it was dead in Downtown Portland, it was probably the fact that it was a holiday morning.  It is very lively usually.

I do enjoy Vancouver.

Nice shots... Of the cities you visited out west, I've only been to Seattle, and I loved it -- and that was 10 years ago... I too am surprised by downtown Portland's seeming lack of life, given the eye-candy buildings and oh-so-hip rep.  And we gripe about Cleveland'd downtown sometimes, but frankly, C-town is just as good or better -- ah, I don't feel so bad.

... btw, ...

did the Space Needle influence The Jetsons or vice versa?

wow what a long trip. you sure got around. nice pics.

imo denver is most interesting of all as it is so busy reinventing itself downtown and also with tod and new transit. vancouver is also a fav as even tho it cannot help but to suffer from some typical canadablandization it is in such a beautiful setting.

slc i've never been to and am in no hurry.

seattle and portland irk me for being upper middle class havens.  still, there are plenty of lessons to be learned there for ohio cities.
