April 18, 200520 yr I don't know how that cat could have slept through all that! It certainly was a whirlwind tour.
April 18, 200520 yr spongebob & napolean dynamite at studio35? ha! --- thank goodness some things never change! you sure know how to tug at an ex-patriot's heartstrings fella --- bravo!
April 18, 200520 yr GREAT series! "You don't just walk into a bar and mix it up by calling a girl fat" - buildingcincinnati speaking about new forumers
April 18, 200520 yr whatever, wherever. Only the peripatetic courthouse courtesan could bring us this bewildering bonanza. There should be a prize for anyone who can name the locations of each pic. I couldn't do it, though quite a few are familiar. I would like to know where some of them were taken. If there isn't a contest, it would be good to have a key to the locales.
April 18, 200520 yr I recognize skyscrapers from Steubenville and Middletown.....heck this has got to be the definitive Urban Ohio thread!
April 21, 200520 yr thanks guys....does anyone want to take the cincinnatus challenge?...if not, then i'll post the cities next time i get on here. (there is no middletown on here though...)

April 22, 200520 yr Guessing is hard... I can recognize most or all of the Dayton ones, as well as the more obvious ones of other cities, but they are too scattered about for me to attempt going down the whole list. I will say that I recognize #49 as Delaware. Go Delaware!
April 22, 200520 yr If it were to be a contest, then I ask that you cut the collection into thirds. I'm more apt to try 40-50 shots, not 127.
October 13, 200618 yr This is perhaps the most comprehensive thread on Ohio on this site. I give you a belated "Very nice!" and I like Brown Bag Deli, it's a great (and reasonably priced alternative to Katzinger's) deli.
October 13, 200618 yr Great series. This picture is so wrong, were they removing the old facade I hope to restore the building?
October 16, 200618 yr What a variety of pictures....I could call out about 70% of the locations for the photos. But, on another note, my computer about died trying to load this large photo thread
October 21, 200618 yr Wow. That was indeed the best photo spread of Ohio I've seen. Great angles, especially the skyline shots. Ohio's real charm lies in its small towns--the great old late 19th century buildings with a smattering of mid-20th, and maybe one or two "modern" building. And the shots of Columbus and Dayton really stand out. When I see photos like this it makes me wonder why I ever left, and that I need to come back for a visit soon.
October 2, 201410 yr 114 is still the best one. bump! Glad you bumped this. I don't remember seeing it the first time around. Such great diversity of architectural subjects! "In the souls of the people the grapes of wrath are filling and growing heavy, growing heavy for the vintage." -- John Steinbeck

October 29, 201410 yr whoa a welcome blast from the past -- i did not even realize a tower was torn down in ohio, but i am very glad to see it was that hateful 1960/70s pos grant hospital eyesore. can anyone show what took its place? a new hospital bldg i take? Here's the site today, https://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&ll=39.95968,-82.99237&spn=0.003705,0.008256&t=h&z=18&layer=c&cbll=39.959696,-82.992221&panoid=_Od3N8G2TzAdHhJUsmSArw&cbp=12,42.68,,0,-7.66 Although it's not a high-rise, the new building is not bad as far as urban hospital stuff goes. There is a cafe with an outdoor patio on the corner which is a nice touch.
October 31, 201410 yr Whatever, indeed..... 8-) "In the souls of the people the grapes of wrath are filling and growing heavy, growing heavy for the vintage." -- John Steinbeck
