August 2, 200717 yr Maritime? I don't think Ohio is capable of having maritime cities since we are not near any oceans... If the lake counts as "maritime" I would say Cleveland beats Toledo in that it is directly on the Lake whereas Toledo is not...
August 2, 200717 yr true c-dawg except for one thing -- there is much easier direct public access to lake erie in cleveland than in toledo.
August 2, 200717 yr lol! how did i know you would do the c-dawg twist and try to shoehorn in the rivers and add in the suburban areas? just how the hell does toledo have islands -- they are 35 miles away! reread what i said again. it's correct. for one thing look at a map. the clev has more public access than toledo to lake erie period. it has much more frontage, beachfront, housing and marinas....yes of course access could be a lot better. someday. speaking of someday, there is also a lot of undeveloped lakefront potential there too which toledo lacks. otoh only the ne corner of toledo even borders the lake at all -- there is very close to zero lakefront access in toledo, its almost all via the river. tiny point place is minimal and noone goes there to get with lake erie -- not to mention thats the only place you can even see the lake. you certainly cant get there at the bay its an industrial port. come on. you forget i lived in cle and toledo so i know firsthand about going to the lake from both places. here - those of you who dont know toledo that well can place see for yourself:
