June 23, 20231 yr Of all the many things I did on my last visit to NYC, including some incredible meals, walking the High Line was definitely the favorite part of my trip. What a gem for the city.
July 11, 20231 yr i finally got around to see the new highline moynihan train hall connector recently -- this is the manhattan west courtyard approach -- this caught me off guard -- its a new view on the wood bridge from above -- looking east on w31st interesting and kind of an odd view of the new stub -- looking east on w30th/dyer ave the stubby -- looking west toward the old highline park stub over 11av and the hudson yards -- this new walkway section is more highline like the greenery is really beautiful -- approaching the connection with the existing highline park -- pickleball craze probably -- looking back -- and that's all -- i hope you enjoyed the stroll -- a couple links: https://www.thehighline.org/art/plinth/ PLINTH Opened in June 2019, the Plinth is the first space on the High Line—and one of the only sites in New York City—dedicated solely to a rotating series of new, monumental, contemporary art commissions. The Plinth is located on the Spur, the newest section of the High Line at 30th Street and 10th Avenue, where a large open space offers sweeping city views. Artworks selected for the Plinth will thus become part of the cityscape itself, remaining on display for 18 months. https://www.thehighline.org/connections/

According to the SS United States Conservancy, the nonprofit group that owns the vessel, a recently released development plan -- developed in conjunction with two New York firms, RXR and MCR Hotels -- would see the ocean liner repurposed into a 1,000 room hotel with space for music and event venues, public green space and a museum. We know this can be a viable, transformative project. Let’s rally together to secure a home for America’s Flagship.” "The vessel’s landlord doubled the Conservancy’s rent without notice during the coronavirus pandemic, placing significant financial strain on the organization.
