I'm looking to move closer to Twinsburg(where I work and where my wife will probably working also) but I don't want to be in sprawl. Does anybody here live on the eastside of Cleveland or in the eastern suburbs and make the commute to the twinsburg/macedonia area? From the bit of info i've gathered the Drive from Shaker Heights wouldn't be to bad(according to mapblast).

This may sound crazy, but if you got a house in the village portion of Hudson, you'd be within walking distance of pretty much anything you could ever want and about a 10-minute drive to Twinsburg. Just a thought!

Hudson... urban?

I know it sounds crazy.

Hudson's historic town center is very walkable, and immediately adjacent to it on the west is Main Street Hudson, a new-urbanist style of development.

Another option is Bedford, which is just up old Route 14 (and new Route 14/I-480) from Twinsburg. Bedford is an old town center, with lots of retail up next to the sidewalks along the main drag.

"In the souls of the people the grapes of wrath are filling and growing heavy, growing heavy for the vintage." -- John Steinbeck

I guess the question is how far you are willing to commute.  Twinsburg is unfortunately far from anything urban, though Hudson and Bedford have nice little old village areas.

When  I read the post the first place I thought was the center of Hudson.

I have a part time job in Hudson, and driving from Akron, I get to see Downtown Hudson on a daily basis on my way to Twinsburg. I didn't even really think about Hudson like that, I guess I could look at the town centers of Bedford and Twinsburg also.

According to Google Maps, it's a 23 minute drive to Twinsburg from Shaker Heights -- not too bad. But if you want to go even more urban, it's only 7 minutes longer minutes to Twinsburg from downtown/Tremont/Ohio City, because of all the highway access. And you'd be reverse commuting.

i drive from cleveland heights to just outside of chagrin falls to work, its not a bad commute, a little less than a half hour.

Wow, really?  It seems so much longer.

Cuyahoga Falls isn't that bad of a commute to Twinsburg, and it is somewhat of an urban suburb of Akron.

I remember my old headaches going from Shaker Heights to Valley View, and I don't imagine going to twinsburg being much more fun.

Ohio City/Downtown Might be a bit more tolerable since it will pretty much be freeway to freeway....

Kent...maybe 10-15 miles?

Drove from Twinsburg to Shaker Heights in about 25 minutes this morning. My wife and I will be searching here as well as the Akron area.
