December 14, 200717 yr Shouldn't it be "BiOhio"? And where is this new logo? I've been anticipating for one since it was announced a few weeks ago :( I guess that means I can still submit mine whenever I get home :)
December 19, 200717 yr Here is an idea I had. Just thought I would try something. That's really neat. :) Thanks!

September 15, 200816 yr uhmmm, why is there a picture of the Empire State building on the back of that? Also, does someone hold the rites to the name UrbanOhio?
September 15, 200816 yr uhmmm, why is there a picture of the Empire State building on the back of that? Also, does someone hold the rites to the name UrbanOhio? that is the carew tower
September 16, 200816 yr Did I miss something? http://www.zazzle.com/urbanohio_shirt-235708869037913173 No your not missing anything. That shirt is something I did messing around 4 years ago.
June 11, 200916 yr This is long since been done and said but I was bored today and felt somewhat inspired so I am submitting an other idea. It is a work in progress but I really like it. I want to work on some variations, play with the color, the dimension and other effects, but right now my illustrator capabilities are somewhat limited. Any ideas on how to better dot the 'i'?
June 11, 200916 yr That is nice...might be hard to figure out what it supposed to say if you didnt know what it says.
June 13, 200916 yr Alot of nightclubs advertise with a similar style fontface (although yours appears custom), and juxtapose some generic city skyline on it. It's just the first thing that rang to me, that's all.
June 14, 200916 yr As someone who lives/breathes typefaces, I like your ideas. However, most people don't look at a logo for any more than three seconds and while you don't want to club them over the head like a baby fur seal, a logo should be easily decipherable for the masses. With that specific font, the "ohio" could be read as "dno" or "dhb". *I* clearly see what you're going for, but there's a difference between designing for the public and designing for others in the design field. clevelandskyscrapers.com Cleveland Skyscrapers on Instagram
June 15, 200916 yr Thanks everyone for your input. I too like the .com as the way to dot the 'i'. May Day, perhaps these are better ways to represent 'ohio'? I like 2, 3, and 5 the most. Also, in red is a little logo. The last one I effectionately refer to as 'urby' or 'urbo' but i can't decide which.
June 15, 200916 yr Like MayDay said, first perceptions are key, and the red logo says LD to me more than UO... and no I wasn't in LD classes, except for grad school when the coursework was labeled either LD (lecture-discussion), PBL (problem-based learning), or ISP (independent study programming).
June 15, 200916 yr maybe an extra upright in the center would split the letters a little better, and look like eyeglasses on the face...
June 25, 200915 yr What do you mean by upright? I know you want to blend the U and O, but leaving out the right vertical part of the U makes it look like an L. I was trying to envision making the UO look like eyeglasses on the face by separating the two letters, and connecting them with a horizontal line like a nose bridge for glasses... sorry I have no graphic skills to better illustrate my suggestion.
September 2, 200915 yr So about this new logo, Queen City Square is going to be, I beleive, the Third Tallest in the state at 660ft, so does the smallest building get bumped? How does that work?
September 3, 200915 yr If someone has a poster with Urban Ohio information on it... I can make it a part of the window display program.
