August 22, 200717 yr Not too shabby *eats freedom fries* Paris is beyond words, and your photos are really stunning. WOW!!!! Makes me want to buy a ticket and fly off tomorrow. Just beautiful! Your best effort yet. Seriously. The awesome architecture just doesn't end.
August 22, 200717 yr If I could make love to a city...it would have to be Paris. Me --> :fight: <--Paris
August 22, 200717 yr great pictures once again. One thing I thought about Paris though....the architecture was pretty uniform and didn't vary much like other Euro. cities. Except Montemartre, which was a separate city until the 1800's I think, the architecture, while beautiful, was almost too uniform. Anyone agree, and doesn't this have something to do with Napoleon or something...

August 22, 200717 yr i thought london was pretty uniform too for that matter. both cities are hellbent breaking out of it....in their own way. paris practically invented the edge city for skyscrapers w/ la defense(and thank god for that). judging from all the cranes i saw all over the place since the docklands began to be built london seems to be more ok with incorporating towers into the city these days than they used to be. i doubt paris will ever do that, the montparnasse tower is still considered a huge scandal.
August 23, 200717 yr Looks like you found more clean, if not more downright stunning areas of Paris than I did. Great pics. One of these days I'll get around to posting mine. This pic is a fantastic city photo, of any city.... "In the souls of the people the grapes of wrath are filling and growing heavy, growing heavy for the vintage." -- John Steinbeck
August 23, 200717 yr Absolutely incredible pics... I am assuming that the aerial views are taken from the Tour Montparnasse ... the Gare Montparnasse is also the only place I have ever been maced. Thanks again for this thread... its a gem!
