Posted August 26, 200717 yr By far, my favorite festival in Cleveland is the City Xpressionz urban/aerosol art festival produced by Cleveland Public Art. Held across from the West Side Market, it's truly a festival that draws everyone of every background - the artists are incredibly talented, the breakdancers are nothing short of amazing; the music is awesome... Anyway, here are 50-some photos I took along with three movies showing some moments of the event: Breakdancers: [youtube=425,350]iaiUFt6Zo9M Students from the Progressive Arts Alliance: [youtube=425,350]uRuGujtKils Student DJ scratching: [youtube=425,350]XMj6ywJ2XbI Mona Lisa in aerosol - who'da thunk? Scion is a major sponsor; they brought in some customized vehicles this year: Q Nice is the MC - keeping the event going by announcing what's next: Students from the Progressive Arts Alliance performed early in the day: An artist flips through his sketchbook to get ideas: The clouds looked pretty threatening, but the rain held off for a few hours: DJ Onit: The breakdancers offered a sample to get the crowd going: I absolutely love the gal's style on the right: This MC was really good: One of the artist's jackets: If this isn't a candidate for a funny caption contest, I don't know what is! Unfortunately, the rain came down... And the crowd and dancers tried to hang in there but it eventually poured buckets... and that was the end of my day. Hope you enjoyed! clevelandskyscrapers.com Cleveland Skyscrapers on Instagram

September 17, 200717 yr This is such a great event, and the sidewalk sale really seemed to add some additional density to it this year. Seeing someone stencil graffiti Patrick Park lyrics was an especially pleasant surprise ... two loves in one piece of art! Nice pics, MayDay.
