July 13, 200717 yr What a waste of money. Make them ride bikes. Like I said before, we have too many out-of-shape police officers, some of which are borderline obese. I remember when I lived in P-Ridge and I called the police because the crazy lady next door was throwing spaghetti and raw meat in our back yard again and the officer was struggling to walk up little hill that is our driveway. There's no excuse for it. Those Segways are like 6,000 dollars.

Of all the places you'll inevitably be transported to, the first place will be the bank because the Segway will cost you one healthy kidney, $4,500, and a pint of virgin blood. The reason for this cost: superfluous bull**** like high-voltage field-effect transistors or FETs. What the hell does a FET do? Nobody knows, but I guarantee some nerd spent months writing a graduate thesis on why it's important (and failing). The Segway is packed full of useless, but important-sounding extras like "angular-rate sensors" (or "gyroscopes" to anyone with something better to do than to look up obfuscated $6 words to describe a spinning wheel), and two digital signal processor controller boards with enough processing power to give even the beefiest desktop PC penis envy. I really don't think the segway is a pursuit vehicle, but it does allow you to have a police officer on the street like a cop walking the beat, but they can respond faster to a call in the area, don't get as tired in a multi-hour patrol, and can cover more ground. bike cops are similar in the role that they play, but bike cops ride in the street and aren't as approachable as segway cops in the sidewalk.
