Cincinnati: 2007 Cincinnati Bell/WEBN Riverfest Fireworks [Updated]

Since I had several requests to post the actual photos instead of a link, I updated this gallery to include some of the day events.  The Rossi Brothers put on one hellva event but I will admit I was a bit partial to last year's fireworks.  What happened to both bridges having the waterfall?  Bring it back please...

If you are interested in viewing the Grand Finale, you can view it here:

Alas, the 2007 Cincinnati Bell/WEBN Fireworks @ Riverfest.  Maybe our city can put together a worthy website for such a grand event instead of this embarrassment: http://www.riverfestcincinnati.com/

It was a great event, see you in 2008.

Wow...that's just stunning stuff!  I keep using that word to describe your photos, but it works!  I definitely think a thread of them is in order if you have the time, though - it'd be great to see them all in order and everything...

So you decided to take your tripod?  Or you just have especially steady hands?

Thanks for the kind words.  I took my tripod and the show was absolutely amazing but I preferred last year's show to this one.  If you want to feel the fireworks, you can't beat the serpentine wall but I realize I am too close to get some of the more polished fireworks photos.  I had to point my camera straight up in the air and even at 18mm I still couldn't handle the over powering Rossi Fireworks.

I just can't imagine dealing with the hassle of staking out space on the wall, and spending the day in the sun, jostled by thousands of people, though I definitely need to experience them that way some day...I did see them from the foot of Greenup Street a few years ago, and while the crowds were distracting, the show was fantastic...

So have you picked your spot for next year yet?  Maybe getting a ticket to one of the NKY restaurant parties or something?  Or maybe up top of NOTL would give you a little distance - I wonder, can you stake out space there?

We secured our space on Saturday so we didn't have to deal with getting down there early on Sunday.

Riverviewer, that's what we did this year ... We had reservations at the Chart House in Bellevue. Something I've never done for the fireworks.

BTW, great pics as always, Monte!

Wow.  Nice job, man!

Excellent pictures!

You always get fantastic people shots.  On another note...I'm pretty sure THE "Naked Cowboy" is a Cincinnati native (correct me if I'm wrong).

Well I'll be damned...

"Robert John Burck (born December 23, 1970 in Cincinnati, Ohio), better known as the Naked Cowboy, is a New York City busker and prominent fixture of Times Square. His routine consists of playing guitar wearing only cowboy boots, a hat, and a pair of briefs. He later inspired the Naked Cowgirl, who wears pasties, cowboy boots, a hat, and a mini-skirt"
