April 7, 200916 yr I randomly ran across this on my old hard drive. I think the original lives on Jayson's website, I had just tweaked it to make it look more real... I didn't do that one, but mine started it. I did one and then a couple more people did versions correcting what they thought I got wrong. Here's the original.
April 7, 200916 yr I'm underwhelmed by the design of the building itself, but it will certainly have a dramatic impact on the skyline, and it seems to blend in reasonably well with the rest of the urban fabric. Now, the Cincinnati skyline has a central "peak" in the form of Carew Tower and PNC Bank building, sort of like how the post-9/11 New York skyline is dominated by the Empire State Building. Once Queen City Square is complete, the massing of the skyline will be something more like a mini-Chicago, where you have the bulk of the skyline bookended by a pair of tall buildings. The skyline will appear much broader, and I think it will make downtown Cincy appear much more substantial than you'd normally expect by the addition of a single building.

April 8, 200916 yr I randomly ran across this on my old hard drive. I think the original lives on Jayson's website, I had just tweaked it to make it look more real... I didn't do that one, but mine started it. I did one and then a couple more people did versions correcting what they thought I got wrong. Here's the original. There's a big difference between these two photos in terms of massing. Which one do you think is more accurate?
April 8, 200916 yr Somewhere up this thread I posted a Google Earth model file. You can open it in Google Earth and get a pretty accurate view that way.
April 8, 200916 yr The bottom pic is too huge and is facing the wrong way. The top one is the best model. Man that's really gonna change the skyline.
April 9, 200916 yr Anything new going on downtown. I see the floor is catchy up with the elevator shaft. I'm starting to see a peak of it appear around ground level on the far end next to QSCI. I bet by june we'll see this monster rise from the grave! LoL...how's the banks coming along I haven't seen any new pictures of that site lately!
April 16, 200916 yr I would love to see a rendering of QCS from the perspective of a car travelling westbound on columbia parkway. Anyone know if such a rendering exists?
April 16, 200916 yr It looks like they rose another level this week! the sublevel is almost fully at ground level, other than at the western end. They are pouring cement on it now (from my bird's eye view).
April 16, 200916 yr I can actually do a rendering for you all if you want. I do futuristic city scapes all the time for fun and for video game art. Actually, I plan on doing a huge city scape of Cincinnati in the year 2300.

Actually, I plan on doing a huge city scape of Cincinnati in the year 2300. Sounds awesome. I know there's a downloadable sketchup model of the building somewhere. I've been wanting to take it and import it into a rendering program, but haven't had the time.
April 18, 200916 yr They are practacally at ground level on with the actual floors. Another level and they will be out of the pit. Lots of work and progress! As opposed to the banks project. They're weren't many people down there.
April 20, 200916 yr I walked by the site last week and was stunned by the rapid progress that has been made at the QCS project!
April 20, 200916 yr Wow, it's coming along like gangbusters. Anyone know the projected completion date?
April 20, 200916 yr ^ 2011 for occupation. Excellent, I wanted to make sure that someone would have the pleasure of seeing/working in/using it before the end of the world in 2012.
April 20, 200916 yr ^ 2011 for occupation. What??? The military is going to take it over? Sorry, couldn't resist the grammar :-D
April 20, 200916 yr ^ 2011 for occupation. What??? The military is going to take it over? Sorry, couldn't resist the grammar :-D I don't get it?
April 21, 200916 yr What I like most about this project is it fills in a big gap in our skyline in certain angles. If you come down 71 you'll see it's massive shape right past P&G. I remember growing up wishing we had more highrises on the eastern part of downtown.
April 21, 200916 yr ^ 2011 for occupation. What??? The military is going to take it over? Sorry, couldn't resist the grammar :-D I don't get it? I believe the term is "occupancy"... just messing around

April 23, 200916 yr Does everyone know that you can now go to queencitysquare.com for photo updates? Go to upper right of screen and click on "Latest construction photo.
April 23, 200916 yr ^ They should allow that thing to be a true web cam... "It's just fate, as usual, keeping its bargain and screwing us in the fine print..." - John Crichton
April 23, 200916 yr They've started on the third floor!!! The first signs of the whole building above ground!
April 23, 200916 yr ^ They should allow that thing to be a true web cam... Actually they have a webcam, but sadly it's not public! :wtf: But you're right that should be a true webcam instead of pictures. It updates pretty regularly now though. Even at night there are photos available. I've checked at like 4am (I know I have no life!)
April 28, 200916 yr At GABP this weekend and snapped this pic. It's hard to imagine a giant skyscraper will be peaking in very soon! "It's just fate, as usual, keeping its bargain and screwing us in the fine print..." - John Crichton
April 28, 200916 yr Don't worry sandpit, my bedtime is 4am too haha. Oh us night owls lol. But yea from this photo, that building should shoot right up into a great view from the stadium. That's purty darn coo.

May 6, 200916 yr I believe we have steel coming up gentlemen! Woot! Yep, I saw it this morning. This building is flying!
May 6, 200916 yr They started what looks to be the steel structure for the exterior wall of the building. It started at the SE corner abutting the 303 building.
May 6, 200916 yr Yea they sure are building this fast. You don't really realize how massive this thing will be in the skyline until you see downtown from Price Hill or Mt. Adams.
May 7, 200916 yr iPhone photos from Wednesday - 05/06/09 "It's just fate, as usual, keeping its bargain and screwing us in the fine print..." - John Crichton
May 7, 200916 yr Even more went up today! "It's just fate, as usual, keeping its bargain and screwing us in the fine print..." - John Crichton
May 7, 200916 yr Is it me or that core is begining to look tall!! I am going downtown this week to get a clearer view of the steel...This is great! I'm confused though. In the back they have half a level up compared to the front? What's the scheme? The front is a lobby or some sort?
