November 3, 200915 yr Looks to me like they're on the 27th with the steel and 31st with the core based on those photos... Compared to the renderings it looks like there's still plenty more to go... Yes and No. I guess it depends on if you're counting completed or in progress levels. I count levels where they have actual steel in the case of the floors and the to the top of the core in the case of the core. So using that model I conclude: 1). The steel goes to level 30. Also the curtainwall stops at level 11, if you count from there you'll get 30 (non-completed steel levels) 2). The core is usually 3-4 levles ahead of the steel. So it can't be at 31 (probably 34 because they'll be raising the platform this week). I base my count off the sitesight cam. I could be wrong but this is what I think?

November 3, 200915 yr I think developers, architects whatever, need to grow some balls and put the thirteenth floor into their buildings. It's a silly superstition. But on a positive note, QCS is starting to fill in the gaps when you see downtown from different angles. It looks so different!
November 6, 200915 yr I've been away from Cincinnati for almost 2 years now and can't wait to come back to see this new building.
November 6, 200915 yr wcpo did a story today on QCS, they said the concrete core was at the 36th floor and that it will be completed in January 2011. They had video on the main page but that will likely change so I won't include a link. I don't have a direct link to the story because for some reason it's not posted. Just thought I'd pass the info along!
November 6, 200915 yr I just heard that it will be another 1-2 weeks before the QCS website will be up and running.
November 7, 200915 yr I just heard that it will be another 1-2 weeks before the QCS website will be up and running. Are you f**king serious?
November 9, 200915 yr Any chance we can get photos from a little further away? :-) Apparently if I want something done, I have to do it myself! ;-) clevelandskyscrapers.com Cleveland Skyscrapers on Instagram
November 9, 200915 yr The latest pictures are great - especially the "night shot" of QCSII. Looks like it was taken from Mt. Adams?
November 9, 200915 yr Thanks and yep, last shot was from the parking lot next to the Celestial :-) clevelandskyscrapers.com Cleveland Skyscrapers on Instagram
November 9, 200915 yr Great pics... The view from the Celestial parking lot is one of my favorites in the city.
November 9, 200915 yr That view off Mt. Adams is really much better enjoyed one street down on Oregon Street, sitting on the back deck of the City View Tavern, and enjoying a beer and a burger while taking in that scene!
November 9, 200915 yr I was too busy enjoying beer (Stone Smoked Porter) and hanky pankies from Rookwood ;-) clevelandskyscrapers.com Cleveland Skyscrapers on Instagram
November 9, 200915 yr The view from Gest Street in Queensgate puts QCS right between Carew and Central Trust.
November 9, 200915 yr The best view is coming from the west side on US50 East!!! You get to see everything in its entirety!!!!! It is quite impressive.
November 9, 200915 yr I was there to visit one of my best friends; we were on a tight schedule but I did manage to see ColDayMan; and yes a full photo thread is in the works. clevelandskyscrapers.com Cleveland Skyscrapers on Instagram
November 9, 200915 yr Awesome Pics, I love that Night picture the best. You can see that QCS is taller than the Scripps center now! So the core should be about 476ft.
November 10, 200915 yr Quick question: If the crane is supposed to be anchored to the building every 80Ft. How in the world are they going to anchor the crane when it's suppose to go up to 750ft in the air? I think the Tiara is 164 ft? So how are they going to do the that?
November 10, 200915 yr ^It doesn't have to be anchored every 80 ft. Most cranes are never anchored for smaller buildings. Kenwood Towne Place is a great place to see a closeup of the crane not anchored to the building :)
November 11, 200915 yr Well I guess the guys at Mid-Tower cranes are idiots then, because he told me that. Well thanks for that info!
November 13, 200915 yr The new site for the QCS webcam will be on the top of the Chiquita building, hopefully soon.

November 14, 200915 yr ^ It's up and running: http://queencitysquare.com/construction.htm That is not the new site
November 14, 200915 yr You can see the top of the core in Erlanger, just before I-275. Wow are you kidding? Can you take a picture of that? Man this thing is going to be topped out by Christmas...only 4 more core levels and six jumps before the core reaches full height! Wow...I'm glad the webcam is back up. Looks like the garage is almost done.
November 14, 200915 yr ^ It's up and running: http://queencitysquare.com/construction.htm That is not the new site I think he meant the new site where the camera is situated. Which it is. The camera has been moved has it not? It's behind the chemed center I think.
November 14, 200915 yr You can see the top part of the core (and crane) clearly from Rt.42 & Fields-Ertel Road in Sharonville - 15 miles away (Hamilton/Butler Co. line).
November 15, 200915 yr You can see the top part of the core (and crane) clearly from Rt.42 & Fields-Ertel Road in Sharonville - 15 miles away (Hamilton/Butler Co. line). This is impressive. Get a photo if you can. Because of the topography, it's tough to see any of Cincy's skyline from any distance at all. It's not like Columbus or Atlanta, which you can see from almost anywhere.
November 16, 200915 yr In earlier days I used to help my father and uncle raise tobacco several miles outside of New Richmond. My uncle's field at the time (it has since been sold ) was on a ridge that overlooks the Ohio Valley and Kentucky and I swear that on a clear night you could see the top of the Carew Tower lit up at night. That would be at least 20 miles away! I'm currently building up the nerve to go see if you can see any new construction. When this sucker is completed we all should have a competition to see who gets a shot of the building from farthest away. Hope I'm not too spineless.

When the crown is constructed, we'll create a photo thread with the longest shot. Maybe geotag with cell phone too when we're out?
November 16, 200915 yr ^Nice! I've always thought I could see Carew when southbound on 75 just before it dips down towards the 275 interchange. But I'm probably just seeing UC Medical or something.
November 17, 200915 yr No, you CAN see Carew from that dip. You can also see Carew from I-75 @ Cin-Day Road and also directly in front of you on I-75 near Evendale GE Plant. "You don't just walk into a bar and mix it up by calling a girl fat" - buildingcincinnati speaking about new forumers
