I made a pilgrimage to the Mother Theresa Cinnamon Bun in 1997. Look it up.

I saw QCS in person yesterday and I must say it looks better than in the renderings.

Does anyone know what will be inside the tiara?  A big room or will it be segmented or will it be closed off?  I envision a huge glass domed room but I have no idea.

Will Great American Tower really be Cincinnati’s tallest building?

By Jon Newberry, Cincinnati Business Courier | January 29, 2010

Workers installed the final steel beam on the Great American Tower a few weeks ago. If any of the workers there look to the west at the Carew Tower, they’ll have to look up to spot Wilborn.  The new building will be taller than the Carew Tower only by the grace of its “tiara” crown that’s not yet in place.

There has been a lively discussion among skyscraper aficionados on the Internet about which building is really the tallest and highest. At 665 feet, the height of Queen City Square’s crown will easily surpass the Carew Tower, which is 91 feet shorter. Some wags have suggested that the Carew Tower’s flagpole ought to be included, contending it serves as much useful purpose as Queen City Square’s tiara. It’s not clear if that alone would allow it to retain its “tallest” status, however.  It has also been noted that the Carew Tower is built on higher ground at Fifth and Vine – about 30 feet higher than Third and Sycamore. So even though it might not be the tallest, it could still be the highest – flagpole included.

God, I love the influence of this site LOL!

I LOVE the fact that they 1) were talking about UO conversations, and 2) used the term "wags" in the article.

Well, they ain't lyin! :D

Its too bad Mr. Newberry didn't mention the webcam in his article.

^Funny, but none of those results make any sense given the context.

I love LMGTFY!  :-D

I believe wag also means gossip or chatter.

Come on Business Courier, you could have at least mentioned UrbanOhio.

There isn't. It was amusing to watch them from the roof of the Herald Building and calling them up.

"Hey what's up?"

"Not much, just hanging around."

Apparently there is no security at all on that building site:

flagpole, webcam.

These fools should be arrested.  It's all fun until one of them falls, or gets injured, and then our city taxpayer dollars have to go towards emergency medical care/ clean up of their stupid asses. I feel the same way about urban exploration somewhat, but this is obviously much worse.

I feel that if people want to take risks for the sake of photography or thrill, they can do so on their own initiative. While I do abandonment photography, I don't pursue it under the guise of a thrill -- but to each his own, I suppose. What's interesting about this specific case is that one of the individuals involved has a minor tiff with the law.

So it is with some question that the photographer flaunts the law on this. It's one thing to climb up, it's another to publish photos with that added risk. Even under normal circumstances, you can be arrested for trespassing, along with other charges, because the photographs all but incriminate you.

Amended under consideration of the user.

Especially if they landed on somebody.

Wow those guys are crazy. At least they took some awesome pics.

Man on Wire.

I liked the pics but I wouldn't do it. Not because I'm afraid of getting caught or hurt but mainly just because I would rather be doing something else. Nonetheless, that was pretty gutsy IMO.

Photos Removed by Request.

Regardless of opinions, I'm impressed

Welcome to the forum - although the photos are indeed impressive (especially the last one), in no way, shape or form do the owners and operators of UrbanOhio approve or encourage trespassing or violating the law for photography purposes. We love great photos but the safety of our forumers comes first.

If we (the owners and operators of UrbanOhio) are contacted by any representatives of Queen City Square, Great American, the construction company, developers, or law enforcement, our only choice is full cooperation and if need be, turning over all information (ISPs, etc.) requested.

that's the litigious times in which we live. impressive pics though

Cute, but it won't be some ambulance chasing attorney knocking on the door. It will be the sheriff.

Yes, it is not a joke.  Flagrantly irresponsible really.
