Excuse the stolen rendering, and the rather crude Photoshop work, but just another 6 or 7 stories would've helped this building immensely.  That's quite a bit less than I originally thought, actually.  While I don't care for the design of the tiara (especially it being named that), having a crown of some sort to cap the building is a very nice touch, and something that's missing from a lot of newer buildings.  It certainly reflects the art deco motif, at least in spirit.

God, it's amazing how much better that image on the right looks.

You people should hear the old farts complaining that Carew is still the tallest because it has 49 floors and QCS only 41.  Are they lacking common sense? I'm convinced that people on the cincinnati.com forums just flat out hate this city but are too stupid to move away lol.  This building is beautiful.

the complaining and monday morning quarterbacking of this tower is deafening.  its intended to add balance. BALANCE

^Nah it was intended to put money in their pockets.

haha, well we were ignoring the obvious...we all know this and all towers are temples of corruption

thanks for the pictures!  Way to go Cincinnati!!  A great addition!

Done deal!!  Great pics and thanks from those of us who couldn't be there!

Now, remove the tiara from the tower and the photo on the right would be much more appealing to me.

P.S.  That doesn't mean I think the tiara is ugly.  I just think a taller version of the building without it would be better looking.

I still wish they would have done a more significantly different curtain wall for 303 Broadway.

Yeah I get it, its part of the same complex, but from a distance the whole thing looks like a giant capital 'L'

303 could have held its own with a more impressive facade or curtain wall, even with all the parking levels it contains.

But then it would look funny because it wouldn't match the tower with it being so close.

There's no reason it couldn't be treated as a separate building.  This is an urban downtown, buildings of wildly different styles are built right against each other, they don't have to "match."

Very true.  Well at least it looks awesome when light hits it.  I can't complain;)

^Ah, yes...the next thing to look forward to.  How will this fat girl look when she is in lights on a dark stage?

Well I guess this thread is closed. On to the banks!! LOL Nice pictures everyone. It's been a long wild ride watching this baby rise! I'm sad there will be no more rising

Ditto! On to The Banks  :-)

I'm sad there will be no more rising

Still gotta raise the GAI signs, or at least their pieces.

We won't close it until they take occupancy. I'm sure you fools will think of SOMETHING to debate.  ;P

wow 6 years of talk here..lol

Ha how 'bout this.  Will QCS spark another tower in place of the garage with the spinning clock? hmmmmmmm;)

I attended the QCS ceremony today and then viewed Cincy from Devou park. Some bigger cities have larger skylines, but the Cincinnati skyline takes second place to none! The enhanced skyline  with Mt. Adams and other surrounding hills in Cincinnati and in Ky, along with the curving river...beautiful as well as picturesque!! The view of downtown with QCS in the foreground, from Mt. Adams near Rookword is also magnificent.

Eighth of State, HAHAHAHAHA

OK...that is so dumb it is hilarious...

We still haven't heard all of the tenants yet, so there will still be more announcements coming.

Well I enjoyed the 72 weeks of discussions and fighting over QCS's looks.  This forum is awesome.

^And yet you haven't responded to your own dedication in the UrbanBar!

I think by "Forum" he means "Cincinnati: Downtown: Queen City Square"

LOL I mean the forum actually. I did respond. This is such a huge site. I don't know how to get updates and stuff. So I have to manually look for topics that interest me.

Here is a quick rendering I made of ongoing construction pictures from Queen City Square. Enjoy  :-D

Cool - this really shows how different the building looks in different light.

Pretty cool man. Welcome to the forum.

Damn you I actually thought they were going to add at least a 50 foot flapole for a second!

Very cool.  I take it that the enclosure means GAI logos on both sides? and I had no idea it was getting a flagpole.  Interesting.

oh wait...nevermind lol

I'm most excited to see how the crown (or should I say "tiara"?) looks with the glass installed.

Ok, I'll "take the bait" and start another "how tall is it" conversation.

Now, with the flagpole, will the TOTAL height be nearer to 700'?

I guess with the tiara topping the building at 665' a 35 foot flagpole on top would bring the building to near 700' .....OR am I missing something and it's all just moot? NOTE: Not sure how tall flagpoles go on top of bigger skyscrapers but would assume a fairly large one.

What glass?

Please refer to the date of the "flagpole installation".

Fool me once....guess they did! Oh well, still glad we have this new building in our city (with or without flagpole). LOL

The "total enclosure of the tiara on Aug 2" means glass right?  Surely the tiara isn't empty?

From Bellevue it looks like a candle.

^^ There will be no glass. It appears they are still working on internal supports. They will also need to install the Great American signage.
