Posted September 4, 200717 yr This view is perhaps the most photographed in Hamilton; similar angles exist from just about every decade since photography emerged. I don't believe any other mid-size Ohio cities have a vantage point like this with so many significant buildings present (and facing the camera), a waterway, monument, and bridge, so Hamilton really lucked out. I can't seem to get enough of this angle. By the way, there is a method to my madness; I'm not just a nutcase posting 30 images of a similar scene. .
September 4, 200717 yr I'm not just a nutcase posting 30 images of a similar scene. ...well, just because there's a method to your madness doesn't mean you aren't also a nutcase, who happened to have just posted 30 images of a similar scene... Yeah, I like both the first one: ...and this one: ...the first one is a better shot of the flag and has more definition in the plant stuff that's overflowing the stone wall; but the later one has a better angle on the bridge to my eye, highlighting its curve...
September 4, 200717 yr Clearly a view you never get tired of. "You don't just walk into a bar and mix it up by calling a girl fat" - buildingcincinnati speaking about new forumers
September 4, 200717 yr As i scrolled, I half expected to see a shot from every hour of the day. Dawn to dusk. A nice vantage point nonetheless. https://www.instagram.com/cle_and_beyond/https://www.instagram.com/jbkaufer/
September 4, 200717 yr The grass on the bank never changes. Wierd. I think we're being flim-flammed here: these shots were all made on the same day. 'Fess up, ink.
September 7, 200717 yr I'm getting a strange feeling of deja vu. I'm getting a strange feeling of deja vu. That is a cool view of Hamilton. The monument just needs to be there.
September 7, 200717 yr The monument just needs to be there. Exactly. I about fell over Tuesday afternoon when one of my planning profs gave the monument as a local example of the City Beautiful Movement after I had starred at the thing all day. Thank god for Daniel Burnham; My original attraction to Hamilton was how the curve in High Street plays off the monument, bridge, river, courthouse, and city building. Lima has its skyscrapers (and they can call them that), Mansfield has its topography, Springfield has its architecture, and Hamilton has is drama. I DEFINITIENLTY can live with that!
September 12, 200717 yr I just noticed that Summit Street captured this view before before the old bridge was imploded.

November 9, 200717 yr At last, I can reveal the method to my madness--giving Cincinnati Bell options for a skyline view.
November 11, 200717 yr Like Dresden on the Great Miami. What is that a monument of, by the way? I had no idea such a unique memorial existed in Ohio.
November 11, 200717 yr What is that a monument of, by the way? I had no idea such a unique memorial existed in Ohio. It is the Butler County Soldier's, Sailor's, and Pioneer's Monument. More info here: http://www.urbanohio.com/forum2/index.php?topic=10205.0
