Posted September 8, 200717 yr Didn't hear a peep about this project, which the web site says is "on hold." The image appears to show it just south of the building at West 3rd and Lakeside, across from the Justice Center. Don't know who the developer is/was.... http://paytoarchitects.com/parkingwestthird.htm WEST THIRD STREET PARKING GARAGE West Third Street Cleveland, Ohio The project consists of a five-story, 406 space parking structure with retail space on the first floor street front. Located on West 3 rd Street in the Historic Warehouse District, the project would not only provide for much needed parking but also fill one of the many “Missing Teeth” in the area which were created over the years. The proportions and scale of the facades on the streetfront of West 3rd relate to the vernacular of the multi-use former warehouse buildings of the neighborhood. To further integrate with the streetscape, the first floor of the garage accommodates four bays of small scale retail shops. The project was designed, construction documents completed and bids were received prior to being placed on hold. September 8, 200717 yr YAY!!! FILL!!! Is that ground retail I see?! I wish the actual design was a bit more intriguing than this illustration...
September 8, 200717 yr I wonder when that was approved by the City. Interesting. Do you think this was part of the old Double Tree Hotel project?
September 8, 200717 yr ^No, this garage would go between the Marion Building (Karl's Inn of the Barristers) and Lakeside Place (southwest corner of Lakeside and West 3rd). The DoubleTree hotel was to go on the county-owned parking lot on the north side of Lakeside (across from West 4th) butt-up against the Shoreway. clevelandskyscrapers.com Cleveland Skyscrapers on Instagram
September 8, 200717 yr A high density, indoor parking structure with street retail on the sidewalk that would, also, fill in one of those maddening 'gaps' in the WHD? Sounds like an all-around winner to me.

Sounds like an all-around winner to me. Agreed sounds like a quality project...as quality as you can get from a parking structure that is.
September 8, 200717 yr if you're going to have a parking structure, might as well have it fill an entire gap, and have street level retail. I'll take it.
September 9, 200717 yr If the block sizes give room, I'd prefer to see parking garages "wrapped" like The Avenue District or like CC's new garages. But at least street level retail ups the bar a little from a standard garage.
September 13, 200717 yr The property owner is Weston Property Investments -- one of Tony Asher's companies. Yep, the same guy who's redeveloping Tyler Village and partnering with Stark for the rest of the WHD.
