^Thanks for the update.  Just starting on level 10?

Its growing fast!

good pics and you caught a lift — cool!

yeah it looks like they are working in the 10th floor now.

steady progress.

I've got no pics, ut they started the next 3 floors today.  Going at a clip of 3 floors per month.

So they should top out at the end of July?

I figured August?  Its 19 floors, correct?

Yes. They should have 13 done by the end of May or early June, 16 done by the end of June or early July, and 19 done by the end of July or early August. Things should also go a lot faster now that we're out of the cool, sub-40-degree weather.

That's so great to see...the other night on a nationally televised Cavs' game, one of the camera shots showed the Beacon starting to peak into the skyline, with the crane obviously visible above..  A sign of vitality!  (By the way, some of those NBA games really show some great shots of the city)

An unusual view today from the top of 200 Public Sq. garage

Do the “28” floors include the parking garage?  I notice construction has been progressing at apprix. 1 1/2 floors a week, btw.

Okay, I see someone here wrote it’s to be only 19 floors (not including seven-story garage, apparently).  Wikipedia says 28.  What m’s the most current plan for the number of stories?

When I extrapolate the image to hit 19 floors it seems like the height is going to go over the current crane height by a floor or two.

Was out on the Nautica Queen this weekend. Beacon is visible from the lake now. (pardon the photo quality, had to zoom in quite a bit)

Love that first pic kjp! All good shots, but in that one,  something about the blend of diff types of architecture, w the trees, some pedestrian traffic, n the transit station at a nice street level,.. really cool!  Id love to see the same shot, a year from now.. good by pnc tower!

These are great shots! I live right next door to this project. It's so exciting to see the progress.

Update from this morning, definitely more height and becoming more noticeable.

Not sure how I missed this, but this was just a well timed shot with an iPhone 6s, and the only Photoshopping was cropping and one application of the Sharpen filter. The most important element was my husband keeping the car steady while navigating traffic on the Innerbelt :)

Great angle! Which parking deck is that?

Looks like the casino garage beside Harry Buffalo

Next batch of verticals going up:

Great photo as usual. Thanks for helping those of us no longer in Ohio stay up to date with these great projects.

how many more floors to go?

Just goes to show, it's not how many gigapixels you have, it's how you use them! :P

I think they might have to jump the crane soon.

Yeah, I'd say this is the last set of columns they can do before jumping.

how many more floors to go?

If I'm counting correctly, here is where construction stands:

Holy sh*t, I underestimated how tall this thing is actually going to be.

That struck me too - took this photo over the weekend and figured I'd take a stab projecting what the massing would look and feel like from the street. Its almost like Cleveland is becoming a real city!  ;)

(I also recognize the break should technically be a couple floors higher, but couldn't help myself)

With the Beacon going up, it made me realize how badly the surface parking lot next to the city club building needs to be developed.

This is an exciting project to watch go up. Thanks for the pictures, all.

How about the surface lot across the street from the Beacon that “replaced” the Hippodrome theater?

Today

There’s been a “for sale for development sign” on the fence for a while. It seems like a good spot to build and it already has a parking garage. The prospect side could be developed too.

"for a while" is an understatement

^ I'm sure it'll get built up eventually like the Warehouse District. Save for a massive economic down turn, and if we keep our current momentum, Downtown should see some more buildings popping up. How many more historic buildings are left to be flipped that aren't being worked on now or are slated for development in the near future? The Beacon and Lumen give me hope for Cleveland to be a thriving city.

With CAC, the May Co. building, and 55PS conversions, 925 Euclid has to be the last major office building in town not to be repurposed for residential use.  There's so much square footage in that building, though, that it may take awhile for it to act as a tipping point for ground-up construction.  If/when that building fills up with apartments, it may be enough to push downtown rents upward enough where financing for new residential construction is available.

^so 925 is holding is up!

That's what I was thinking. Most of the remaining office buildings have been spoken for. Euclid Avenue is pretty much fully developed with projects being worked on, finished, or at least in pre-development. Really all that's left is Northern Campus district and the swaths of parking lots. I know that the ATT/Ohio Bell building and Erieview were mentioned for redevelopment, but briefly?! Could the Beacon, once finished, help with getting Nucleus off the ground?

What about the stretch of Euclid between 925 and Statler?  There is a stretch of buildings that had asbestos removal performed in 2013 that are still sitting untouched.
