  • To do that, we would need to refurbish the May Company building with hundreds of residences, turn Tower City into a massive business incubator with some high-profile tenants, add another high-rise apa

The new entrance is open but not fully activated.  Looks nice!

Some iPhone photos of a tour I took today. So here are some take-a-ways.    1. The balcony level is fully leased and currently has a five year waiting list. 2. The color schemes of each

Also of note, MayDay[/member] at a bar on his lunch hour.... You dog!!!

If my counting skills are correct, the floor they're just starting to put the "roof" over is the inset one.

Best way to get us back on topic - photo update on the construction :)

Back in the day when the topics of discussion were whether they were going to tear down the Breuer tower and surrounding buildings or not, or if/when the Schofield building would ever be finished, this is the kind of scene you'd have in your head when you would wake from a lucid dream and think 'awwww man! it was just a dream....'

Haha, sorry for getting off topic. That second shot is amazing.

Such great pics!!!  We should start to see the glass skin soon??

Do the midges have any effect on it's construction? I wonder if there'll be a slight lull over the next week or so where you can spot someone taking time to scrape 'em out each day. There must be a couple floors in all the buildings downtown where encased midges technically making up a fraction of a percentage of the structure. It's a somewhat silly, but genuine question.

MayDay, we were on the same frequency.  This was from 6/7:

Here is an image of the backside that I took while walking home:

Wonder if anyone can explain what we're looking at in this pic  Are those pre-fabricated exterior panels?  Is there some type of finish that gets applied or are they pre-finished?

I sure hope some kind of finish will be applied over those panels. They look so cheap and unfinished.

I'm guessing there will be a brick façade overlay.  That's typically how it's done.

^brick?

Its going to be reflective glass

Oh, it's all glass?? Didn't know what the façade consists of, just was saying the overlay on top of the panels is how it's usually done. Thanks for the teaching moment MayDay

My own contribution from yesterday. It looks like they're up to the 14th floor of new construction, meaning they have only five floors more to go until they top out.

^Overheard at lunch today that they're jumping the crane tm.

A less seen/talked about view, but from 490 this fills in a big gap in the skyline quite nicely.

Here's a view from Section 555 in Progressive Field from last night ... helps fill in that gap nicely!

WOW what a great picture!  If NuCleUs ever got built I believe it would block this view?

No. That open-sided parking deck you can see would be replaced with a larger deck with the high rise(s) to the left of it.

Does anyone know or have any night illuminated construction pics of 515? I think buildings under construction with incandescent bulbs look great at night.

Those are some nice quality photos my dude! I think the Cool White look really sells it!

Took the dog for a walk - I will get one from the Euclid side next time I'm out.

I live right next to the Beacon and I've never noticed that its illuminated at night.  :-\

Cool shot from The Beacon Facebook.

Four more floors to top-out.

Kind of crazy to me that they need to do all that just for the remaining floors lol. Sh*t happens

Can we build one on top of the BP garage...?

How many more floors do they have to go?

Five.

A few photos taken by my father yesterday.

EDIT: can any mod help me resize these images?

Thats my favorite view...making the turn from Ontario on to Euclid.  Its such a change!!

No pic, but we have a jumped crane.

I have a dumb question about cranes.  Why do they not just start the project with an extra section in the crane to avoid jumping it later?

Isn't the crane also attached to the building for stability?

^ I bet visibility is probably biggest reason. Another would be safety. The crane is usually anchored to the building, and having the top too far above the working structure could make it unstable.

edit: KJP beat me to it.
