Some iPhone photos of a tour I took today. So here are some take-a-ways.    1. The balcony level is fully leased and currently has a five year waiting list. 2. The color schemes of each

A progress photo. Never posted a photo before so I hope this works. Shot this past Wednesday, 9/5.

BEAUTIFUL

^Thanks!

I love how The Beacon adds to the view as you look out from the Global Center in this photo from Bob Perkoski at Freshwater.

Please pardon the reflections, but here are a couple of pics I took from the Hilton yesterday:

Are people really getting excited because about a half-inch of a crane is visible on the tv?  I know it's great to have a new building going up in downtown, but that might be taking it too far, lol.

Thats a fantastic shot!!

From this view it actually looks taller than 5/3.

Great picture! Skyline is looking great. Thanks for sharing.

I had to copy Firenze98[/member]'s nighttime shot with a daytime shot, plus a couple of others all set against a deep-blue late-September sky....

This tower is looking good!!!  I can't wait to see some of the windows start to go in.

I don't remember seeing this posted yet. And opening in November? Which ground-floor space are they taking?

Nice full frontal looking up (first pick). Was wondering if anyone would do that when topped off with this building. :)

Was joking but the height and presence with the skyline surpassed my expectations for this project. Pleasantly surprise a little. Someone posted wondering why this project is getting so much attention in here. For one we waited over a decade to get this completed and feel people like how it makes more of a presence than they expected.

Edit It adds to the Skyline. It will become an addition.

I was photographing a wedding yesterday, and the bride was getting ready on the 30th floor of the Hilton. Took a moment to snag some shots of 515.

That first shot is an awesome picture.

I like the density of buildings in the second picture.

Driving home on the 490 bridge today I realized what an impact this made on the volume of the skyline. Absolutely unreal the amount of gaps this building fills in from about 4-5 different perspectives

That parking lot you're standing in is really the last eyesore parking lot left on Euclid. Isn't that the one next to CVS?

Yes. That's the crime of Judge Alvin Krenzler.

I like how the building looks from Lakeside close to the mall.  It adds to the feel of urbanity, if that makes sense.  Time for some new pics...

I really like the building being yellow; it both stands out and blends in. Maybe the planned colors, which seem a little trendy, will work as well; but I doubt it.

Remember: It's the Year of the Snake

@Dougal I hear ya, but I don't think yellow ages well. Just think of what we would say to the architects of the Justice Center, the 9, and the Celebreeze Federal Building if we could transport ourselves back.

They Keith Building, the Key Tower, Terminal Tower, 200 Public Square, One Cleveland... While each building may not be a personal favorite, there is a reason they are still aesthetically pleasing 20, 30, 40, 50+ years after construction.

Nice shot! Looks like it took a bit of a beating from that nasty windstorm on Saturday night.

This tower is looking good!!!

What is the "cladding" (covering up the yellow) going to be made of??

quoting from wikipedia which is the most 'reliable' source material.

"The Beacon will feature a facade interlocked with colored interchanging metal panels that will reflect the sun and be brightly illuminated with exterior lighting at night.[5] The pinnacle will feature a multistory Beacon masthead that can be seen for miles in either direction."

The photographer managed to get the Lumen crane in the shot, too.

That one might be my favorite!!

I’m with Mack-that’s a great shot, especially catching The Lumen crane in background.

Looking up, earlier today

It was nice seeing two cranes in the skyline.

Don't they need the crane to install the final exterior facade?

It’s gonna be interesting to see the final facade with those  interchanging metal panels start to appear - anyone know the timeline for that?

2 Blocks on Euclid will be closed off for a week to take down the crane (between E.4th and E.6th) via Cleveland.com  :(

Checking in on the neighbors...
