That's right, folks - the monthly Cleveland meet is hitting the waters of Lake Erie and the Cuyahoga River!

Meet at the East 9th Street Pier (NEXT to the Goodtime III) FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 28th at 5:30pm; ship sails from 6pm to 8pm. Dress for the weather, it can get cold out on the Lake!

$10 admission; snacks and drinks (including booze!) available on board. 18 and older only.

Sounds like fun; I haven't been on the Goodtime since 6th grade. 1988?

Speaking of the cleve-scape being different; (little story) the last time I was on the Goodtime was a field trip in 6th grade. My dad, who is a retired pipefitter, was running most of the sprinkler/pipe work at TC when it was being built in the late 80's. He knew that we were going to be passing by on the GT and said he would keep an eye out for us and wave. I've still got a pic of the front of TC in all it's structural steel glory. There's some ironworkers and assorted other tradesmen in the pic, but they're too small to identify. I'd like to think my dad's in the pic but I've got no way to tell. If I could figure out how to post it I would.

Don't forget ... booze cruise this Friday!!!

Followed by a train ride to....?

Just confirmed - they don't have Great Lakes :-( but for $10 and happy hour pricing, I won't complain too much. Also, the boat opens for boarding at 5:30pm, and leaves the dock at 6:00pm sharp (don't be late!) - that gives everyone a little extra time to get dolled up for the evening ;-)

The forecasts are calling for highs in the 60s, so bring a light jacket or sweater - it gets chilly on the Lake!

the import selection is not the best. but given the sweet ride and views you hardly notice. I am planning on coming, but if I forget to mention (or dont make it), for those that "partake" I would head strait to the bar to get your beverage (s) upon boarding as the lines get terrible after shove off. Dont try to smuggle anything on either...

that means one of you all may have a better chance winning the wayne newton singing contest.

and suddenly, I don't regret missing this night out.

I'll be there!

Me, too!

Yay! See you all soon!

Today's forecast:

TODAY: Clouds & sunshine with showers possible east. Highs in the upper 60s to low 70s.

TONIGHT: Partly cloudy to mostly clear and cool. Lows in the mid 40s to near 50.

There's a small craft advisory with choppy waves so if you get seasick, stay away from me!!!

I'll be there, and I'm bringing a friend, so be nice! :)

Gotta problem, friends.

I am stuck putting together a Capital, blah, blah, blah for the state.

Not sure if I will get out in time. I am waiting on others so I can complete my portion.

I'll try to make it down there though.

geez, I thought I was the first one back to the interweb. After all the "sea" air we needed substinace in the form of cheeseburgers. FYI- I think Little Bar has the best! Great seeing folks and I expect our photogs to post pics of the beautiful night.

Errrrrrrrgggggg

I am just now getting home.

I am so pissed.

I thought I would be out in time to meet everyone coming off the boat.

So next month the 28th is on a Sunday - Halloween time!!!

Halloween. so the theme should be some place haunted...maybe sneak into franklin castle and have a pot luck.

Doesn't the ghost of Elliot Ness inhabit Great Lakes Brewery?  I'm willing to pretend.

  • 2 weeks later...

I'm sorry I missed the party; I got sent to Red Bank, NJ that wednesday for work and I'm stuck here for the rest of October.

I will say its fun being a tribe fan in yankee-land.

How far up the cuyahoga does the Goodtime go? I can remember it going all the way up to the mills the last time I was on it.

Go Tribe!
