I decided to do Dayton by bike so I grabbed the Great Miami River Recreation Trail and rode into downtown. The GMRRT reaches all the way down to downtown Franklin now, quite convenient to me when I'm at home. I don't know if it will ever reach Hamilton as planned.

The day started out gloomy but the sun finally came out. I think you all know how I feel about Dayton, so I won't elaborate.

I love the old Montgomery County Courthouse, it makes Dayton feel like an ancient city.

Not the TORNADO!!!

Not a bad-looking town for a western Ohio county seat. Definitely beats Paulding and maybe even Van Wert, but I don't know about Lima. Of course, nothing can stand up to Toledo, but that doesn't count because Toledo is actually a Detroit suburb.

Excellent pics; bicycle sounds like a good way to see Dayton.

One of my favs too.  I seem to remember hearing that the length of the sculpture is the same length as the Wright Bros. first flight.

Yeah it follows the path of their original flight, which I think is pretty cool.

Ink, how is it you feel about Dayton?

Well then I think you and I are bound to be friends.  :-)

I wonder what's hiding underneath!

I like what they did with the old Elder-Beerman department store building.  Before, it was a pretty bland structure.

Eh, Dayton's all right, I guess.

Which is the bridge they're working on in the fourth picture?

^I believe that is Washington Street.

I'm sure dfly could confirm.

Fantastic Pics....especially that first one of The Landing

Wow, I don't know how you guys do it. Either way too much time your hands or you're very good at managing your schedule to even think about doing photo threads of 88 county seats.  Either way I'm jealous.

A little bit of both. A little bit of insanity as well.

Damn, dude!  You sure do get around!

Yeah, he went all the way to DAYTON!
