May 22, 20232 yr City of Cincinnati’s population increases in latest Census numbers By Chris Wetterich – Staff reporter and columnist, Cincinnati Business Courier May 22, 2023 The city of Cincinnati’s population increased in 2022 after declining for the first time since 2010 in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic, according to the latest data from the U.S. Census Bureau. The number of Cincinnatians rose to 309,513 in 2022 from 308,685 in 2021, an increase of 828 people, according to census estimates, and just 48 fewer people than where it started the 2020s. The city’s population fell by about 1,000 people between 2020 and 2021, a common occurrence for urban areas as people sought out more space in the suburbs, exurbs and rural areas of the country during the pandemic. The city’s population stood at 311,097 to end 2023, according to U.S. Census Bureau data released May 16. 0.5% growth in a year is pretty remarkable. Compared to other peer cities cincinnati is doing incredibly well.
