Posted September 18, 200717 yr Football's Oldest Stadiums: Witnesses to Game's Evolution http://sports.espn.go.com/travel/news/story?id=3016019 Interesting article I thought on the oldest college football stadium. Link includes the article and then a link to additional photos. Interestingly, UC's Nippert Stadium has been home to Bearcat football since 1902, making it the fourth-oldest playing site and fifth-oldest stadium in college football. (Though this is not mentioned in the article.)
September 19, 200717 yr It's amazing how much Harvard's stadium looks like Ohio Stadium and Yale's stadium looks like Michigan stadium.
September 19, 200717 yr Speaking of football history....The site of OSU's first football game has been located: http://www.dispatch.com/live/content/football/stories/2007/09/18/osu_first_game.ART_ART_09-18-07_C1_3O7U4UR.html?sid=101
September 19, 200717 yr lol! i know you guys are just being hometown fans, but lets be fair: how could nippert stadium be the 5th oldest stadium when its not the stadium? and ohio stadium looks remarkably like harvard's and michigan's stadium looks a lot like yale's. but please do just ignore me and carry on - ha! i never thought of who had the oldest stadiums and when and where osu's first game was, that was cool stuff.

September 19, 200717 yr Nippert Stadium in Cincinnati, Ohio is the University of Cincinnati's football stadium, home to their Bearcats football team in rudimentary form since 1902, and as a complete stadium since 1924. There are only eight major college football stadiums still in use older than Nippert Stadium: Penn's Franklin Field (1895), Harvard Stadium (1903), Georgia Tech's Bobby Dodd/Grant Field (1914), Mississippi State's Davis Wade/Scott Field (1914), the Yale Bowl (1914), Ohio Stadium at The Ohio State University (1922), the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, home to the USC Trojans (1923), the Rose Bowl, home to UCLA football (1922), and Cornell's Schoellkopf Stadium (1915). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nippert_Stadium If it's from Wikipedia...you know it must be true. :-D
