Posted September 29, 200717 yr Well the forum meet on the Goodtime III was awesome - a good turnout, great weather (well, a little windy) but otherwise a great time. All the cool kids from the forum were there! ;-) It was reeeally windy out on the Lake - but it's all good, UrbanOhioans are a tough bunch! rob_1412, BlackOpsAmbassador, peabody99, OompaLoompa (seated), Mr. peabody99, 8ShadesOfGray, X. clevelandskyscrapers.com Cleveland Skyscrapers on Instagram
September 29, 200717 yr Grat pics. Did I spot a four car red line train going by? the left side of the pic was sort of cut off. so who attended?
September 29, 200717 yr Yep, I'm guessing the four-car setup was because of the Indians game. clevelandskyscrapers.com Cleveland Skyscrapers on Instagram
September 29, 200717 yr Excellent photos, MayDay! I really liked the view of the skyline over Burke. Did you get any shots of the houseboat? It was definitely one of the hits of the trip. That and the best located trailer in all of NE Ohio!
September 29, 200717 yr awesome shots. yes it really was that beautiful out and Mayday captured it brilliantly. I was looking for the house boat too! Rob do you have any pics?
September 29, 200717 yr Oops! Sorry - I was in a rush to get the pics posted. Here's the infamous houseboat: clevelandskyscrapers.com Cleveland Skyscrapers on Instagram
September 30, 200717 yr Beautiful shots! It was a perfect evening for light & clouds, if a bit chilly and windy. At times the sky was dramatic. It'll take me a few days to work through my stuff and make a post. I spent Friday night with friends in Cleveland, had a leisurely breakfast and socializing time, and then made a pilgrimage to the West Side Market, an essential part of every Cleveland visit for me, before hitting the road. I didn't get home until 4:30 this afternoon. I've been tinkering with the pics, but after the 4 1/2 hour drive I'm seriously in need of an early bedtime.
September 30, 200717 yr whoa four car redline train? how do the platforms handle that?? also that picture looks amazing
September 30, 200717 yr whoa four car redline train? how do the platforms handle that?? If I'm not mistaken the red line platforms are long enough for a four or five car train. The Blue/Green platforms are long enough to handle three car trains.
September 30, 200717 yr Mayday you take exceptional pictures. That time of day..late afternoon evening is the best time to take photos. https://www.instagram.com/cle_and_beyond/https://www.instagram.com/jbkaufer/
October 1, 200717 yr I think the Mather/skyline pic is my fave, but the Red Line train at sunset is a close second. They're all wonderful. I'm sorry I totally forgot about the boat ride! And if that train was eastbound, then it may have been the evening "collector" train that collects a bunch of rush hour trains at the Brookpark Yard and returns them en masse to the Central Rail Facility at East 55th. If the train was westbound, then I have no idea what it was! "In the souls of the people the grapes of wrath are filling and growing heavy, growing heavy for the vintage." -- John Steinbeck
October 1, 200717 yr Grat pics. Did I spot a four car red line train going by? the left side of the pic was sort of cut off. so who attended? I'll bet those cars were either stationary, being stored/laid over during a big event, or a 4-car set being sent back to E. 55 street at the end of a rush period (probably the latter as they appeared to be coupled and their didn't appear to be 'big event' downtown traffic at the time of these photos). Wouldn't it be nice if we could generate the train traffic to demand 4-car trains on a regular basis? Nice pics btw. Love the sky as well as echoes of our endearing industrial might.
October 1, 200717 yr nerds! You say nerd like it's a bad thing. I think it was put out there as a mating call.
October 1, 200717 yr oooo an Eastsider! haha, yes, it seems the east side is a little underepresented. I still have love for the west side though
